Woops, sorry for the Brawl play on Aladdin. I was a bit rusty during the recording 😅 Thanks to Hal and Explorcana for the invite, it was a blast to record!
@@stuartvasquez6404 They're Heavy Play sleeves, I like them, but the batch I had was splitting a lot on the corners. I love Blue/Steel, but I found my Green/Steel match up was not as good as I expected with the builds I was on. The deck is super fun though and plays almost like a combo deck in set 4.
Hey Brendan i'm curious to know what you think of Ruby Amethysts spot in the meta? Do you think its Green Steel matchup is not good enough for you to consider it seriously right now or do you think its manageable enough to still have a place. Really enjoyed the paper gameplay and would love to see more in the future.
Great content! Small note, Brendan brawled your Aladdin in Game 2 but he has 3 strength and isn’t able to be targeted (without ice block). Obvious unintentional mistake but one that definitely impacted the remainder of that game.
Major props for the overhead cam placement - it's perfect. Most videos have weird perspectives, too narrow, the players' board too messy. This is the perfect distance and the players kept a tidy board for the most part, making the games easy to follow along.
Thank you for talking through the opening game lines and mulligans. I feel understanding those is absolutely critical to improving. Really quality content. Appreciate this.
I loved the video, and great job on discussing everything about each play and ink decision. My only comment about the gameplay was the decision to not keep the Deceiver 2 drop on the play. Unless you're keeping 1 drop and 3 drop diablo, and action, and bucky. I think it's always correct to keep ursula and play her on 2 to rip OJA out of the hand against RB.
I'm definitely not well versed in this match up, but you started to touch on it after the games in relation to Bucky. I'm not sure he was really doing enough here funnily enough. I think the line might actually be Ursula on 2 and Aladdin on 3 - particualrly on the play when you can snipe One Jump Ahead and then if they have the Fishbone Quill, Aladdin can remove that too.
It's hard to make a call because even if you go all-discard on R/S, they might still outpace you unless they bricked. The key to know which line to follow is using Diablo 1-cost or Ursula Deceiver to look at their hand.
Great matches! Would love to see this type of format with Brendan playing Ruby Amethyst. I play Ruby/Ame and the green steel matchup is extremely difficult and almost unplayable at times. Would be great to hear more of the in depth thought process playing with this deck in general. Keep up the great content.
This is awesome content. Love the way you talk through the thought process and different ways to think about the current situation of the game. What are your thoughts on playing against a mirror match on Ruby/Sapphire? Im still running a couple Judy Hopps to combat Dimes from mirrors and Sapphire/Steel
Against Blue/Steel and Ruby/Sapphire I always feel like two Bucky’s is greedy. I honestly don’t have a good answer to Blue/Steel when playing discard. Would love to watch how you handle it.
For all the whining about Bucky, the ramp builds (Red/Blue and Blue/Steel) definitely have an upper hand in the matchup. That's why there were droves of Bucky Discards during Chicago Swiss, but actually more Red/Blue in the top cut. All the complaints and requests to ban Bucky when it's not even the best deck.
I havent seen a comment on it but at 55:13 you forgot to draw a card off of the Robinhood. you would then have drawn that diablo and discarded 2 cards. I couldn't see the hands but it looked like they had 2 left? you then would not have been hit by the 8 drop sisu.

Brendan what are this sleeve you have they’re nice. Have you thought about playing blue steel at all?

How do feel about RB into GP this set? Feel like GP is still favorite into ramp decks. Merfolk, flynn, kit vs. hiram and castle is still gg often.
@@tristandeboer7315 Yeah, I think the match up got a bit better for RB, but still a hard match up

Great content! Wish more gameplay had talking through turns like this. As someone looking to level up their decision making it really helps!
9/10 content
-1 for the constant hand shuffling.
Great video
the card fidgeting just got more and more annoying, I had to skip to the wrap up
Yep, insanely annoying. Not only audio wise, also to look at (especially in real life).
We will work on that for the future, for sure. Feedback heard.
TCG players are some of the most fidgety people I've ever known
Just say you’ve never played table top lol
Great video !! It’s the paper play era for Lorcana YT now, hope to see much more of this content 💪🏽

For sure
Awesome video and excellent quality. Thanks for posting hope to see more playthroughs coming
"Oh no how will we make content without Pixelborn" Here you go.. good joib... hope to see alot more of this .
Wow Brendan is smaller than I expected!😂

Great content. I look forward to more vids.
Make a set champs vid we need it Hal!!

Great content! more please!
This is a well produced video! The hand shuffling from the white-sleeves player is so loud though, and it's almost the whole video.
32:58 wouldnt Bucky deck keep Ursula to possibly grab one jump ahead? If you are going first.
Awesome Content! Small nitpick.. In the wide shot Hal is on the right and Brendan on the left, but the top down view was the opposite.
We will check that in post next time, good observation.
This is awesome! We need more of this kind of content, for sure. Also, what sleeves are Brendan using, does anyone know?
Heavy Play
@@podcanapodcastthank you!
I love this kind of video! Thanks so much!!!! Could you make maybe a blue steel vs purple red? : )
That constant hand shuffling was driving me crazy
Great content, but that constant in hand shuffling is annoying af.
I think on that last hand for green steel you are supposed to keep Diablo, Bucky, Ursula, Sudden Chill
robinhood is truly horrible in this matchup
This is awesome content. Love the way you talk through the thought process and different ways to think about the current situation of the game.
What are your thoughts on playing against a mirror match on Ruby/Sapphire? Im still running a couple Judy Hopps to combat Dimes from mirrors and Sapphire/Steel
The hard card flipping and heavy breathing 😢
I made it to the 4th turn of the first game. Give me my medal
Hi what is the brand of the white sleeves?
That's what I wanna know cause I kinda want them lol
@podcanapodcast What sleeves was Brenden using?
Heavy Play
I seen the rounded corners and got a bit curious! I’ll check them out!
Great video. Glad Brendan put his shirt on for it. Keep em coming!
Against Blue/Steel and Ruby/Sapphire I always feel like two Bucky’s is greedy. I honestly don’t have a good answer to Blue/Steel when playing discard. Would love to watch how you handle it.
What sleeves is Brendan using? Love the rounded corners.
Heavy Play
This is great content, but the constant card flicking is a little irritating. Maybe try to cut back on that a bit? lol
Yes please
Hal you’re supposed to rep Red blue! I’ve been wanting to see your set 4 take on it!
What brand are those white sleeves? They look awesome
Heavy Play
How were those rounded sleeves holding up? I felt like the ones I have. Keep getting the rounded part messed up 😢
What sleeves are they?
Absolutely great content!!
what are brendan’s sleeves? i’ve never seen any like that
Nice guys, enjoyed it. Next how Ruby/Sapphire can beat Ruby/Amythist please :)!
How does the r/s list hold up in the mirror without judy?
It's fine, Judy is a good card, but not an auto win inclusion.
What sleeves is Brendan playing with?
Bro I didn’t know Brendan was freckin JACKED !!!! 🤘🤘
37:03 Shouldn't have been able to play Brawl onto the 3/3 Aladdin ;)
Brendan may have played it wrong - but Hal let him.

Brendan’s turn be like: *flick* *flick* *flick* *flick* *flick* ….. *game action* ….. *flick* *flick* *flick* *flick* *flick* ….. “your turn”
Where to get this curved edge sleeves ? Great vid guys
They look like the Heavy Play Curv sleeves.

Robinhood only draws you a card if it is banished in a challenge.
@@explorcana D: me and my friends have been playing that wrong oops! Sould of reread the card! XD
Awesome content post PB!
In general, is the match that one sided or was this a miss managing of the Bucky deck?
The Blue/Red deck has some very good draws in this video. That being said, the match up has gotten a lot better in Set 4 for Blue/Red
I like the card shuffling lol. Great to see physical product
I swear Hal's beard grows bigger in every video
Zamn didn't realize Brendan was so short
Charlie sheen that you?
Brendan
Great content, but for the love of God curb the card slide. I know it's a habit but very distracting for a you tube video. Please
Everyone complaining about hand shuffling, it’s in every major competitive card game. Get over it 🥱
It is, and it's just as annoying in person. It's like my opponents are on meth or something. Chill, it's just a card game.
