Zoe Hancock, flugel horn soloist for the Black Dyke Band, joins Chapel Brass in Ivor Bosanko's beautiful arrangement of Share My Yoke. Recorded October 28, 2012 at The Chapel at Worthington Woods (OH).
This was written originally for Salvation army songsters (choirs) by Major Joy Webb with music by another Salvationist, Ivor Bosanko from Cardiff (Wales). I have heard this played as a solo on soprano cornet, cornet, tenor horn but the best version I know is as a vocal solo with a very sensitive accompaniment by a full brass band. Absolutely beautiful as the words are so meaningful as it is a quote from the Bible(Matthew11 v.29) of Jesus teaching His disciples.
Great, focused tone from the soloist. Only a brass band flugel player gets a sound like this. Beautiful
I could listen to Zoe all day long!
It certainly is a beautiful piece. Nicely done Zoe.
Just beautiful
Beautiful tone and control. Your high register sounds effortless. Well done - your playing is inspirational.
