Honda ADV 160 Versus Click 160, Pros And Cons Of These Scooters in English.

  • I spend a month riding the Honda ADV 160 and the Honda Click 160 in and around Pattaya, Thailand. Using these scooters for everyday use and light travel, I've determined that both are excellent options for different reasons. Which one is better? Answering that question is my mission in this video.
Both of these are excellent motorbikes from Honda at a reasonable price.
Both of these scooters are brand new; I'm the first rider on both.
Mr. Deen, in Pattaya, Thailand, has at least two new 2023 Clicks available to rent.

Having ridden both I agree with his assessment.
    BUY CLICK FOR
    - travel close to home
    - Low Speeds/ Heavy traffic
    BUY ADV FOR
    - LONGER RIDES
    - HIGHER SPEEDS / MORE STABILITY
    - LESS TRAFFIC

do note on the Honda ADV 160 not all helmets fit in the storage under the seat, I own the 2024 adv 160 and have a ls2 modular helmet size XXL and that won't fit. Love the bike. be safe Jake.

Thank you for the great ENGLISH comparison! I retire to Bohol Philippines in a few months. I'm probably going to go for the Click 160. Adding a quality adjustable shock to the back is cheap. I want the flat floor for hauling things back from the market. I'll also add a 45 liter top box to the back for even more storage. The ADV is a nicer bike, but not $1,000 nicer when I can get the Click to do what I want for $150 worth of add-ons. As for ABS. I've been riding motorcycles from 1100cc to 90cc for 50 years now and never had ABS, or crashed due to poor braking. I'll get by with the combi brakes :) Ride safe!
It would be really sweet if you could borrow a Honda Airblade 160 and let us know what you think of it. It's the price of a Click, has ABS, and bigger under seat storage than the Click.

You're welcome! I've seen Airblades in Vietnam; I've never seen one in Thailand. I was recently in Vietnam, the Airblade looks like a Click 160 with the fuel tank up front instead of under the seat, so it has much more under-seat storage. I imagine the performance between the Click and Airblade is very similar. It's interesting both Click and Airblade are available in the Philippines.
I know what you mean about the ABS. It seems funny to ride 15 hp motorbikes with ABS and traction control. Lol 👊🏼

Really helped me with researching which scooter to go for in Cambodia . I really had the click 160 as strong contender but think this video has convinced me its the ADV160. I know I want to be able to tackle some out of city roads, a little off road and some pillion carrying. The dual shocks , not bottoming out, better braking and better rear view mirror have sealed the deal for the ADV. The final tick in the box is the great storage , the ability to stow a helmet even two helmets away is a real bonus . The one trade off is the little loss of zipping in and out of traffic, the ADVs wider bars and extra 17kg bigger bike feel will mean a bit more caution patience required. That said I will be new to riding in such a Phnom Penh and so will be finding my feet and slowly building skill and experience and confidence so probably will be taking the progressive riding asy for a while . I am already thinking night just have to have an older Click 125 hanging about as a second bike for those heavy traffic local journeys ?? . Thanks for the great comparison video , Now will it be new or pre used , let me think 😉😉

Great review! The Click isn’t sold stateside but I’d go with the ADV160 anyway. Unfortunately in the States the dealers are not getting too many ADV160’s and the mark up is high so with tax, license and mark up you’re looking at $6k-$8k. Also not the nicest color options. Test drove the outgoing ADV150 and didn’t like the overall feel of bulkiness and the wide handlebars compared to my 2010 Honda Elite 110cc (Lead in other countries).
It’s really nice to lane split the Elite in stopped CA traffic. Because it only can go 50MPH it’s perfect for congested city streets but not highway legal which is fine. I don’t want to go any faster on 2 wheels let alone a small scooter. The Elite is so nimble it’s almost like being on an e-bike but it gets 110MPG, no waiting to charge it and much faster. They only sold the Elite in 2010 and it didn’t sell well because of the recession and low gas prices back then. I use it for food delivery and it looks and runs like new. Unfortunately it’s much more dangerous being on 2 wheels in the states because of all the dangers on our roads I won’t get into because thats another topic completely.

Thank you! I noticed the same "out the door price" at dealerships I stopped at while state side. For the price of a new ADV 150 in the US, I can buy a new ADV 350 in Thailand. Two dealers told me the ADV 160 might be available in the US spring 2024. I love Thailand, Lol.
I ride my Yamaha XMAX in the US, but riding in Thailand is so much more enjoyable. That 110cc size is very common in Vietnam.

Being on 2 wheels is dangerous everywhere in the world. In the Philippines when trucks/buses/vans see oncoming 2 wheelers they will pass and we need to get out of the way. Yesterday a dump truck passed in my lane and gave me 3 feet, I could have touched it when it went by, and there was a ditch to my right. North America at least has rules, even if drivers are often oblivious. Riders die at an alarming rate here, and most don't wear a helmet.

I have a click 150 and a adv 160. I love the combi brakes on the click. And man you point it and it will go I'm very impressed with it's handling. Obviously the adv is a better bike. I have flogged the flea's out of it since I've had it, On road and off road. I hope the suspension softens up a little bit soon. But in saying that I have bottomed out the front end quite a few times. Everyone talks about the adjustable window, it's no big deal. The headlights are great and a 20ltr water bottle fits in the front step though just nice. I wanted a 350 but after thinking about it I think the 350 is too wide for children to sit comfortably and too high for the little ones to get on easy and realistically for me going to the shop for 20lt of water. Too hand getting on a 350 and taking it of the stand whilst holding the water is to much. I will bypass getting the adv 350 and get a xadv 750.

Is there small compartment at the front to put your phone in the ADV like there is in the click or do you have to keep it in your pocket if you don’t have a phone holder? The phone/phone screen must get red hot (wreck the battery) if it’s attached to phone holder in the sun?

    • @JakeSnowLiveSimple

Yes, there is a front compartment on the ADV. It's also where the charge port is. I keep my iPhone in the phone holder always and usually plugged in and charging while I ride, because I use my Google maps so often. I've never had issues with my iPhones overheating. Even during the super hot months of March, April, and May I've had no problems.

    Good quick reviews:-)

    • @JakeSnowLiveSimple
      @JakeSnowLiveSimple  Год назад +3

Yes, the ADV 160 does have the Automatic hazard lights that come on when hard braking at 50km/h (31mph) or faster. The ADV 350 hazards activated every time I was hard braking. The ADV 160 hazards were much more difficult to activate under similar braking conditions.
The ADV 350 did feel more planted while braking hard due to its larger mass, encouraging more aggressive braking, which would explain the different experiences between the two.
