"This car, it's not easy to do cuz it got that big thing right there" Literally the reason I came back to RUclips once I got to this part 😂 Thank you 🙏
had same issue, plugs were a breeze and did them in about 30 minutes. Did not help my issue. Plugs were older than dirt so I thought for sure it was the problem. Nope! Thanks for the help!
Hi you said make sure you don’t mix up the coils. Do they have numbers on them 1-4 to put in the proper space and also how to replace the wires that are connected to them as well. Your videos are amazing. Thank you so much!!
No numbers just don’t mix the one with misfire cuz that coil is bad so mark it before u remove it or just put it to the side other wise u will not know which one was bad
I have a check engine light on a 2015 Kia Soul that is on and it’s saying misfire cylinder 1 &3..and then random and at times the check engine light blinks..I’ve changed the plugs but it’s still idling real rough..what do you recommend next? O2 sensor and ignition coils?
When the dealership told me I had a leak in the evap they wanted me to pay $600 to fix. I Installed a new $15 gas cap and it fixed it, The code cleared on it own after driving for a 100 miles.
My daughter has the same vehicle with the same symptoms. We took the car to my local mechanic, he did everything you did. We still have the misfire. He told me he did not have the all the tools to work on a Kia so it went to the dealership. They tell me the number four cylinder is scored and we need to pay 13 thousand dollars to have a new engine installed.
I've been having same problems first it was code for cylinder 1 and 3 misfiring so I changed all four coil packs. Ran good for about a week and then I got code for the crankshaft sensor so I replaced it. It ran good for a couple of days and then started having code for number 1 and number 4 and a random cylinder misfire so I changed the spark plugs and the coil packs again. This time it ran for a couple hours and then I got the code for misfiring cylinders again I used multimeter and checked all 4 coil packs and crankshaft sensor says they're all good BUT it is running real rough and still has the same code reading cylinder misfires! Any ideas?
@@RBTheMechanic yep had jiffy lube do that. I am hoping I got it taken care of I think I bought the wrong coil packs I first bought the ones for the 1.4 L and this Soul has the 2.0 liter. I literally just changed them within the last hour with the proper coil packs I took it for a small test ride my daughter took it for longer test drive and so far the codes are all gone is running fine. Fingers crossed! LOL
These 2.0L kia engines burn a TON of oil (Soul 2nd generation uses either a 1.6l or 2.0l engine). Kia claims 1qt of oil burning every 1000 miles is normal... That would mean after driving 5k miles, there would be 0 oil in the engine. Be sure to check your oil every thousand miles and top off if low. Stick to scheduled oil changes as well, but don't forget to top off. There are tons of recalls on these engines. They were engineered horribly, but you can make them last longer by topping off the oil. Also bring your car into a Kia dealer. There are some software updates they can do to the engine computer as well as check the engine for serious damage that may be covered by their recalls. With proper care, you could get to 200,000+ miles.
Wish I'd seen this before taking my kia to a mechanic who charged me $975 for this job including a fuel injector clean and oil filter change but that was it .

You can always do them one at a time. No chance of mixing up the lines
@@wtkidz that too
Thanks for the video...just changed # 4 coil pack with your help.
Nice good job
its called a ignition coil. Not a coil pack.
My 2015 Kia windshield wipers don’t get fast speed it only get slow 1 speed any suggestions.
Possability wiper motor or switch is bad

This really helped...thanks for posting it!
Why does the title say 2015 Kia Soul but say it is a 2010?
Mistake sorry
Great video. I did this and it worked. Thank you.

KIA is known for this type of engine failure. But what did they mean by scored? Did they check compression?
@@RBTheMechanic My mechanic only told me that the compression on the one cylinder is 140 psi.
@@charlietomshelton u have to check all cylinders
@@RBTheMechanic I'm picking it up tomorrow, I'll check then.

Yeah did u try diffrent oil I tried GTX it helped a bit

Wow he charged way too much
After i replace the plugs, I went to put the same coils back on and now the coils wont "click" on to the spark plugs
Check to see inside the coil if there’s somthing sticky can try the plug while the coil is out try the old one
Would be nice if you would of showed if it worked or not...🤷♂️
Oh well it did work
Thanks helped me fix my car.
You welcome! I’m glad u did it urself!!
