- Jody Wilson-Raybould submitted a recorded conversation of the phone call with former Clerk of the Privy Council Michael Wernick, who she has said made “veiled threats” against her on the SNC-Lavalin affair. That recording is part of the 44 pages of additional material shared by her with the committee that were released to the public on Friday afternoon.

Wernick was simply worried about the 9000 Canadians that will have to find employment. The current government sucks but she is not a hero.

She says it twice. She says twice that her decisions are made in order to protect the PM from the scandal that would (has) ensue if he tries to force a change in the decision.
Oh & btw, the rules around the use of a DPA are clear. National economic interest is not to be a factor in its application.

4) Michael Wernick says at one point that direct representation has already been made by the PMO to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Wison-Reybold's subordinate - without consulting or informing Wilson-Reybold. We have heard nothing thus far from the DPP - it's long overdue.
5) Was former Supreme Court Justice Beverly MacLauchlin contacted by the PMO or PCO before or after this conversation?
6) Why are Liberal MP's STILL insisting that there has been no wrongdoing, or even the suggestion of pressure or threats from the Prime Minister and his closest staff. How can the LIberal MP's serving on the Justice Committee continue to justify that their adjournment of the hearings before any new witnesses could be called, or any previous witnesses recalled? Why are these MP's still sitting in Parliament supporting the Prime Minister and his government? The fact that they are doing so is shameful beyond words all by itself.

Before I listen to this, I did feel a bit uncomfortable that JWR recorded a private conversation. BUT after hearing the entire conversation, I could not think of any better way other than what JWR did in this case, she had no choice. It took Wernick 2 minutes to drop his threat, and the rest of the call was just JWR explaining the same obvious thing over and over and over again, and Wernick just didn’t want to let her go. This not only makes me believe (and I was sceptical) what JWR described “veiled threat” is true, but also contradicts what the PMO has stated about this matter. I have immense respect for Jody Wilson-Raybould as a human being. I may be a conservative, but I would have no issues keeping her in the AG spot. Integrity truly matters and I'm glad JWR didn't capitulate to this corruption. We need more people like her in government despite party affiliation.
