YES. THANK YOU! like, I am just about to finish this piece and I'm..... SIXTEEN. Why does age matter? If anything maturity allows me to play with more emotion and self expression. It's okay to start late, or to progress slowly. I started at 13, long after mist violinists begin. So what? I'll get just as far as you, just give years later. But I love it and if I have to perform something that most people play at 10 or 11, I don't think my audience will mind. I love this piece.

Try Solos for Young Violists by Barber. I believe she transcribed it for viola. I do believe the grading on it, in terms of ASTA difficulty grading and not the grade you are in school, is 6. You may need to double-check however. I hope this helps.
