Great concept album. The story is told really beautifully. I love this band for their honesty. They are not as pretentious as many Christian bands are. They are honest about their struggles and they do not make music with the pretence that they are perfect, but that they (well... one member) is a Christian in a world where (t)he(y) are a minority.

After such a long time, so much literature being created and written since, Sammael aka Lucifer, the son of the morning, is still by far the greatest tragic character and anti hero ever written. For a being who despised humanity and wanted the love his father used to have for him and his brethren back, not seeing humanity as worthy of it, going so far in his anguish and envy to eventually reveal the farce in his fathers infallible wisdom and plan. Punished more harshly then could have been for seen or imagined to an eternity in a realm that mirrors the same pain and suffering he felt inside, never to rejoin his family above. Eventually becoming closer to humans then any other divine being, its just amazing. Even as an atheist the stories are among my favorites and this band really nailed a vision of him in the music and lyrics its perfect.
Fuck I miss playing shows with these dudes in front of 50 kids. Such great song writing most people don’t have a clue how ingenious these riffs were when they came out

+Daniel Brown I have read the Bible many times. I was a devout Christian for the first 23 years of my life. I find myself much more at peace knowing that whenever good things happen it's because I worked for it, not because a supposedly superior being deemed it "his will" and whenever bad things happen, it's just because sometimes bad things happen: No devil out to get be or deity trying to teach me a lesson. It's also nice knowing none of my dead family or friends are burning in hell. Lastly, I take much more peace knowing my morality stems from a desire to improve the world and society by introducing more goodness into it, rather than from a god who sometimes thinks rape, genocide, murder, slavery, misogyny, and war are okay and sometimes they aren't. my morality is superior to the Judeo-Christian God's, and I am at peace now more than ever because I never have to wonder "is this God's will"?

This reminds me of an Oh, Sleeper concert I went to a couple months back. One of the best concerts of my life. And Ive been to A LOT of amazing concerts. But that one topped it(: I wish I could go to the same concert again
For those who can't distinguish what Micah says, it's "I can mound all your fallen past the clouds as they roll in." If you pay very close attenion, you can hear the "n" in "can" and you can hear the "u" sound in the word "mound". Now, I can see where people get mixed up with that, but, think about it like this, all the devil wants to do is step all over you, so why wouldn't he use all the fallen people to get to heaven and claim God's throne? I mean sure he can command them to invade heaven, but pretty much he wants to do that all by himself. Soo, yeah, hopefully I was able to help.
I think Oh, Sleeper is one of the best bands, amazing lyrics and the way they develop each one after the other making it like a story through out their CD's, makes it more interesting to listen to it.

they're amazing live, and they're honestly awesome guys, all of them. One of the few bands that will actually start a convo with you instead of acting cocky and stupid. These guys are too awesome.
Watch some of the interviews of Micah as he talks about the album Children of Fire. It's not sacrilegious at all. Children of Fire is an amazing album and these guys are super talented. They are one of my favorites behind Wolves at the Gate.

Oh, Sleeper is so under rated. I mean August Burns Red and all those other huge bands are great. But Oh, Sleeper just has this certain sound that I love, and nobody can match it. Micah has the very best screams of anyone I've ever heard, and the guitars fit amazingly over everything as well as the drummer and great clean vocals as well.
