In my opinion Python should be your first language because it is so easy to understand for beginners then afterwards you can go as per your career goals and interest.

No bro , if you first learn java or c++ then there was very easy to learn Python
And if you want to make website or app you need to know minimum 2 or more languages
One should learn C and C++ first then he/she can easily switch to any language. But if one starts with python then switching to other language may be difficult and struggling. Also C++ and Java is usually preferred for DSA in India

People take PHP lightly just because its easy. Everyone said PHP is dying but it comes back stronger everytime. One can experience the utility of PHP if they see the projects like Wikipedia and Facebook.

Learn C and you will be able to easily learn other languages. I'm 13 and I learnt C for 6 months and I was easily able to learn python , javascript and C# in a few days each(including object orientation).

The real question is which one should you start first. Judging by the syllabi of educational institutions it's definitely going to be C. For some it might be the end of career and for others it might be the beginning of their programming career. Not everyone can catch the concepts of C lang.

People should learn C or C++ as the first language, cause you need to make your computer science fundamentals strong. If you're aspiring to be a developer, you should focus on learning and not on passing exams.
If C or C++ feels too difficult, you should just stick with Java, it has a very well defined learning path and it'll get you a job quicker and higher paying than any other language, plus you get to learn advanced concepts like design pattern or multithreading with ease.

We were taught java script in class 9 and 10.
1 - C language for those who have alot of time.
2 - Python for those who take less time and return more work.
3 - Php for webside backend development in a quick way.
4 - JavaScript for both website backend and frontend development.
5 - Java and kotlin for Android programming, creating android apps .

As C is the mother language so evry1 shud learn it for basic understanding of programming (base) .. then I learned python at my own frm youtube , udemy , many more etc..

I think HTML & CSS is like "A_B_C_D" for web development. Once you learn this switch to PHP then JS then Ruby/python.

@demon slash No ! PHP is still use for example in Wikipedia and Yahoo fully depend on PHP, Facebook also use PHP apart from C++ and python and JS. Hence it is indeed worthy to learn PHP till today !

HTML and CSS are not even programming languages. HTML is Markup language and CSS is a stylesheet. PHP is one of the most hated languages if not the most hated language. There are so many reasons to not pick it as your first language. It teaches you to create absolutely trash code that actually works. Not to mention the inconsistently named functions in PHP. If you don't want to be a bad programmer don't start with PHP. (You can learn it later just don't make it your first language) JavaScript is ok but I would recommend Python as anyone's first language because of the fact that Python is so easy to learn and number of things that you can do with it is absolutely humongous compared to all above mentioned languages. So don't think much just start with Python 😊
If you just want to start with web development. You should take this path HTML > CSS > JavaScript > PHP (if required)
Hi all, I want a quick suggestion that which programming language is good for me in order to build some software tools which will simplify some kind of complex stats, do automated calculations, the applied formulas will reduce the work and time we have to invest otherwise if doing manually. Furthermore, I can wait for a considerable time to learn that language. I am a patient guy. So, I will not hesitate how much time it takes to learn that language. So kindly give me honest suggestions without keeping in mind that this will take time, this is difficult for you so I shouldn't tell this you. Also, I'm not job-oriented. Thanks to all.

I would absolutely recommend Python for this. It's the most widely used language for automation of simple or complex tasks. Why only Python? Because:
1. It's easy to learn compared to other languages.
2. Largest programming community. This means if you ever get stuck, there's always someone to help you. Just for your context Python discord server has 300k members.
3. Most of the things required to automate task area already built into it.
4. So many libraries to help you long the way
5. Abundance of free resources Online to learn python.
6. The amount things you can do with are limitless while languages like JavaScript cannot be used in so many cases.
If you choose to learn Python as your first language, I would recommend you to read the book "Automate the boring stuff with Python". (Though I am pretty sure you have already started with some other language)

I suggest you learn JAVA, because it is advanced OOPs based language which might be difficult to learn at first but after learning JAVA you can learn any other languages quite easily.

Only language that was ever made for web development is only php till now. Any other language is just using one layer on top of other just to run on web and to be used as web development. Nothing like php who's purpose is just to serve as backend for web development.

I've studied Java in my school. Basic programming and what I've studied is how to use functions, recursion, ifelse, else, loops..etc. baki whai sara jo normal books me hota ha. And recently I've learnt all of the above mentioned things in C. And at the moment I'm trying to learn python for those basics tasks☝️.

C++ is best in term of competitive programming. There is no language which can beat c++ , when we talk for competitive programming
But in-term of web development learn java, java-script, html 5/css3.
