I've aways felt like Offshore perfectly encapsulates both the rise and the fall of the group. It's also one of my favorite songs of all time! Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
1 of the best groups ever. It sucks that they ended up splitting up. They definitely didnt get the proper push from the "machine". Radio didnt wanna play their music unless they got paid to put it on rotation. But I love their albums, and will always be grateful for thier music. Lyricial Gods with great punchlines and the world just wasnt really ready for them.
Man, just watched this documentary but this is so well put out. Being a SH fan, all of this episode was a tough one to swallow cuz I loved them all together and solo. Shoutout Teejay, solid video and closing with Offshore just made it even more amazing
Having just watched your "JOe Budden destroying his podcast for 26 minutes straight" I can't watch this. He bugs me too much. It's too bad cause I like your work :) It's a shame that got so many views and this gets so few.
Dope documentary. Love SH as a whole and individually. I think now as time goes on, and everyone is on the same page of maturity and sobriety, that a unified project is more possible and could be a whole new light for members of that collective.
I can't front now that I finished watching this as a fan fan it does feel like I'm getting closer lol But truth be told I still hope that they can work it out and get back in the booth together. Thank you for putting this together Thank you for putting this together
Been a Slaugterhouse fan since day one. Their first album was fire. Start to finish. Loved both mixtapes they dropped. I was so pumped for Welcome to Our House. And that project completely shit the bed. Minus 1 or 2 songs maybe. I met all 4 of them when they went on tour for the southpaw movie when they released RNS. Meeting them I could tell something wasn’t right between them all. Joell was a prick but Royce, Crook and Joe were awesome. As a fan since day one. I speak for us all. We just want Glass House!!
After Joe I watched Royce expose himself against Lupe .. crook and joell seem like the good guys but back in the day crook was wildin he matured I don't know enough about Joel but he always seemed cool
Damm it youtube I think I read that you or somebody else promoted this on RUclips but I never got this in my RUclips feed. I'll watch this later you did a great job with the separation of the pod.
Damn... This was a very well done video, been a fan of these guys since the beginning...atleast Joell Ortiz and Kxng Crooked are still dropping music together 🙏🏾🙏🏾🔥
Excellent project, expertly put together. I can only imagine the vast hours of dedication. I hope the guys work it out. They're legendary even more so together. Anyway I wish them all the best for whatever lays ahead in the future. Peace from the UK 🇬🇧.
drunk royce was a different kind of monster. i miss him. but im happier that bro got sober and reps our city hard and mentors and reaches back to the streets.
Yeah, and that’s pretty much been the story of him the last 20 years is someone who will not keep his word because he’s been screwed over in the industry before so by that logic he can screw over other people in the industry that had nothing to do with the previous times he was screwed over. I’ve seen some of his supporters even say dumb shit like “oh it’s just because he went against yawls God Eminem.” no one he can’t criticize Eminem’s music, I’m an Eminem fan and I openly admit he has written a lot of songs I don’t like. But here’s the thing there isn’t an artist out there that I love every song they’ve ever done. And I admit there are some Eminem fans that take their worship a little too far like they don’t give any other rappers respect. Meanwhile Eminem is out here trying to give every great lyric is the respect they deserve. So it’s not that Joe criticize his music it’s how he went about it. There’s ways you can criticize and then there’s ways you can do things that everyone in their brother can tell OK you just don’t like that man and you’re gonna be petty. Remember, when it all first went down the narrative, Joe was trying to push? He was trying to put out a narrative that Eminem was stealing money from slaughterhouse, but then, like every other member of the group came up and said that wasn’t true, and even a couple of them flat out stated they were paid very well by shady records. If there was any money, not handed out, it was because they spent over a year making glass House, not even all the producers got paid yet and Joe decided eight or nine months and he didn’t want to do slaughterhouse or shady anymore so instead of being a man and just telling people thathe kept procrastinating over and over again. Now he’s got the other three members looking crazy AF because they’re out there telling people this album is going to be coming out and he knew the whole time he never planned on doing anything with his group or that label again. So you can’t even give him points for honesty because he could’ve been hones a year and a half earlier.
As a slaughterhouse fan, this was really heartbreaking to watch because you see at the beginning they really were tight. Like it felt like they genuinely liked each other and liked working together and it was something special. To see where it started and how it ended it’s just really sad.
OK I’ve got all the respect in the world for Joe as a lyricist, but the part of the video where he says he has never been helped by anyone at a major is bullshit. I understand slaughterhouse was a group before it signed to shape and I understand that, their first album exceeded what everyone thought it would do but when no one thinks it’s going to do anything, even the label that put out the album had no faith in it, 60,000 records is a lot. It’s a lot more than no records. You can’t sit here and say that before the shady deal, your average hip-hop fan even knew about slaughterhouse. And I’m not talking crap about anyone that became a fan of slaughterhouse before the shady deal, I know lots of people that didn’t know about them, and then saw that cover of XXL with Eminem slaughterhouse and Yelawolf and that’s how they found out. And those people went back and bought the first album and loved it so I’m not dissing on them but the point is is that no one was really checking slaughterhouse except for the 60,000 people that bought the first album when it first came out. And then that album goes from 60,000 to 140,000 units moved after the Shadyhill. So 60,000 to 140,000 that’s the significant amount of help just because people knew that there was a first album out there, but they wouldn’t have known that if it wasn’t for the shady deal. On top of that, the album on Shady records has went on to sell over 250,000 copies since it came out in 2012 that’s the reason Joe was able to go to complex and that’s the reason Joe was able to blow his podcast up. Now all the sudden he’s like one of the dudes in the background of Eminem videos, everyone that loves Shady records is now into slaughterhouse, I bet everyone in that group, except for Royce, who already had that Eminem rubbed will tell you that their social media at the very least doubled from the shady deal. I’m not saying that Joe Budden has to suck Eminem‘s dick. That’s not what’s being preached at all but Eminem did help you out because before slaughterhouse Joe Budden to the average fan was just a one hit wonder. He would’ve gone out like Skeelo if it wasn’t for the shade so let’s stop that bullshit. You can’t even say the East Coast love him. You got so many fans in the East Coast that love Jay Z and Wu-Tang and their fan base has always said Joe was goofy that he was special ed or some shit like that. so you can’t even say his own region had his back before the shady deal.
Royce is loyal by a fault, and you can tell loyalty to Joe turned off Crooked and Joell due to Joe's stubbornness. Royce is a smart guy and I see how he justifies his friends' actions by barely making sense of it himself lol Slaughterhouse will never reunite if Joe has any say unfortunately. Their time was great for hip hop and House Rules is my favorite project of theirs and it should have been an album instead.
It's called "Offshore" from their 2014 mixtape House Rules. It's one of my all-time favorite Slaughterhouse songs and just perfectly captures what made the group great and also highlights some of what caused them to fall apart. That's why I knew I had to end the video with it!
Joe says at the end of his verse "no matter what we rap,so let's rap" so why the fuck was he so stubborn when Crook wanted the group to go back to the studio?? Ay man Im in South Africa but this also piss me off... So tell me guys when was the album House Rules released? Also thank you for the Offshore ending to this Documentary plus I love this track, man this niggas can rap all of them..🙏🏽🙏🏽😔
There definitely was several beats that sucked on those albums. Joes not lying. Eminem also ruined the remaining unreleased Tupac material. That whole album Em for Tupac was so trash. Literally the whole thing. Had Em beats and not Tupac beats. He ruins more then he creates. I’ve never been an Em fan. Has some good songs and great rapper but not for me.
So it wasn't joes fault Ortiz had issues with management crook was drunk Royce was drunk Eminem hated criticism they wanted slaughter House to be like Eminem the beats were bad radio wanted to get paid to play they joints Joe waited to the last second to say anything to the public joes verse was always getting taken off like that's hell literally
Joe Budden is a great rapper. One of my very favorites ever and my most favorite out of the group. If you knew his catalog you would know he’s super deep.
Joe always been a hater.. He was the weakest link on slaughter House, and he will never be as good as Eminem,he don't like the labels he said they used him maaaan stop!!!!
@kekesmooth5618 joe sudden had 1 hit that's it no more..eminen sold more records then any other rapper ever has,do some research don't be stupid all your life!!Eminem went diamond twice..
@michaelcruz7204 deleted my comment because truth hurts huh? Yall repeat that same thing he never aim for commercial success like that. That's what you morons are so fixed on. Eminem trash albums recovery and those trash beats he made for slaughterhouse. Lol you stans hate to admit it
Everyone calling Joe the villain. But Crooked is the real villain. Hear me out, Crooked really never liked Joe. You can see how he talks about it him and he talks about Joe. Joe picked it up and returned the same energy. Crooked talked to everyone in the group except Joe.

Anyone who’s split with a great friend and/or business partner can truly feel this.
This makes me sad cause i literally feel like i grew up on their music

You guys are so blind
Everything with joe Budden ends in tears
Funniest part is, Joe is the absolute only one of these guys who had any traction when this group started, and still has traction today. Respectfully.

Thank you for making this
That’s dope they ended the documentary with offshore
Fire doc! Watched the whole thing
If they all hopped on a pump it up remix with the beat slowed, and base hitting heavier that would’ve been insane!
the ending was hilarious LMFAO
Joe Budden murdered Offshore........ and Slaughterhouse by the way

Em had good intentions but he hasn’t made a good album since his second album.
He should have left it to them creatively
Em is a great rapper but a trash artist and that’s nothing but facts.
They def made much better music before shady
