Already 2.1k+ reviews. It's growing at a rapid rate. I've read they haven't done the latest updates and cross-play at this time because of modding issues. It does feel early access but it has its charm with that. Once it eventually merges with crossplay it will get hectic so enjoy it while it lasts!

On PS VR2, I just came back from playing Resident Evil 8: Village in VR (and the visuals are a HUGE leap in quality going from flat screen to VR. I played the opening house / baby section of RE Village in flatscreen mode and then restarted the game in VR and was blown away by the HUGE leap in visuals which made me feel like I was in the game, not just watching a flatscreen). I bring this up because it's very hard going from something like RE8: Village (it's VR mode is PSVR2 exclusive) to Gorilla Tag (which has severely worse graphics than first gen PS VR 1 games and first gen Oculus Rift games).
    Now....
I'm pretty lenient when it comes to graphics (I really enjoyed Mixture and Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye on PS VR2 and both of those aren't exactly the best when it comes to graphics, but their art styles look cool in VR) and very lenient when it comes to game quality (I LOVED Happy FunLand on PS VR2 and I'm aware most people hated that game. The gameplay is janky at times, but I wanted an "Evil and Dark Disney World" and it 100% truly delivers an "Evil and Dark Disney World" experience with an interesting story, very dark humor and some interesting plot twists. I loved it). However, for some reason, I look at Gorilla Tag and it just looks really bad (just way too low budget, it looks like a very low budget mobile game).
MAYBE I will give it a try.
I'll probably get around to it. But those are my reasons why I haven't given it a chance.

I've been using the Quest 3 for a few months now and I have had a good time for the most part but the lack of actual black colors in all these games I have been playing is really bumming me out. I am so used to my OLED screens that going back to LCD has sucked. First I played Batman Arkham Shadow, then I played Saints and Sinners, Metro Awakening, and now I started replaying Half Life Alyx. Not to mention the Alien game that is about to come out. So all games with a lot of dark scenes and the washed out dark greys instead of true black just takes me right out of it.
I heard PSVR2 is about to go on sale again for black friday and I never thought I would say it but I think I am going to buy that as well since I have a PS5. I really don't want to own two different headsets but it almost feels necessary especially since there are games on PSVR2 only that I want to try (Horizon and GT7) and you get all the cool tech like haptics, the triggers, HDR, and eye tracking.
I just saw your video about deciding that PSVR2 is your favorite PCVR headset also and I think seeing that pushed me over the edge. If it goes back down to 350 again I am going to pull the trigger and see what OLED can bring to the experience especially in all these dark games I play. I know the lenses aren't as good and therefore the image can not look as sharp but I guess at least I can compare the two sets for a while and maybe sell one down the road.

Having both is honestly a power move. Some games I play PCVR only, some Quest, and others on PSVR2!

I don't play this game myself, but they should do what Pavlov did on psvr2 and just allow for the PlayStation users to play the 'vanilla version' of the game with PC player, without mods and such.

It’s a different situation. Pavlov has no cross play because the two builds between it and shack are completely different. While gorilla tag is the same and will have be able to do cross play with quest (assuming they do implement cross play)

There isn’t a problem with it I like it. I have gotten a PC adapter but apparently my PC isn’t strong enough for VR games so the fact that they got gorilla tag onto PlayStation is just making me happy. I’m honestly just thankful that it’s just there.

Sony is notoriously stingy when it comes to connecting to other platforms. They claim its for "security" but if everyone is is doing it no problem than Sony needs to stop being selfish and trying to limit people's interactions with other platforms. They also are incredibly slow at approving updates which for a game that lives and dies on rapid iteration means that it either slows down content for everyone else or they just abandon it.

Marty forgot to mention two big points. Not only is it not crossplay, but it's US only (for now). It's also free, as opposed to Steam, which was the right move.
You can easily make a US PSN though, and download it.

Nobody vares about gorilla tag because the target audience is 3 to 8 years old. There is no potential here. You need a ps5, something most 5 to 10 years old kids dont have, and then a 600$ VR headset, something that 99%% of parents wont spend for their 5 to 10 year olds. But they will spend 200$ for quest.
Its just like with among us, where its mostly children that play on their smartphones or a weak cheap pc.. there is no room to grow no matter what. The aberage age of a playstation 5 player is 25. The average age of a gorilla tag player is 6-7 years old.
Gorilla tag on PSVR2 makes as much sense as selling legos in a sex shop.
As for why it is the way it is, its very very simple dude. Mods and cheaters. Crossplay with mods would be awful and could lead to tons of legal problems for Sony. Like with pavlov. Pnly the devs themselves can so something, not sony. They could have vanilla servers with only official, basic content, with no mods and make those crossplay. But ... Do you really want that? I mean, have a bunch of obnoxious little children yelling and whining in your ears?
Im actually glad it diesnt have crossplay so if i ever try this little dumb childrens game, i don't have to fight through the pain of dealing with obnoxious little kids that have no filter because theres anonymity and no authority figures.
Gorilla tag has zero chances of growing on anything outside of mobile VR like quest. The game looks really really bad and it's shallow. Its also too physically demanding for anyone that isnt a kid high on sugar rush.
