Now usually gear reviews are just straight to the point, showcases the product by unboxing and playing around with it. I like that you’re going above and beyond in this video, giving it a production value regardless if it’s just an accessory.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail and the title, I knew it was Techart’s adapter. It is such a revolutionary technology. I’ve taught about this concept for years and why this was not built years ago but Techart got it figured out. With a few more optimization and support for more lenses, this will be more awesome.
When people talk about the new M6 being accessible, it’s bull crap. Now this is accessible. Puts life into MF lenses (which many are affordable) and also photogs who may have difficulty in manual focusing like you mentioned.
Revolutionary is a bit of a stretch but it certainly is a neat solution for a niche problem
I gotta say @gxace while the sci-fi aesthetic is not my personal jam, your videos are by far the most interesting and most aesthetically distinct currently on the RUclips. I’ve been watching your videos for almost 2 years now and I got to say what you’re doing in terms of story telling is inspirational. Creating videos is one thing creating stories is what real directors do. Steve Jobs said “the most powerful person in the world is the storyteller”. I believe I’m at the point where I understand my camera and color grading enough to where I can dip my toes into real story telling.

as usual, production quality on those videos is outstanding, truly impressive. and the adapter? genious and simple! i remember dumb adapters for canon with AF confirmation, but this is on another level. impressive tech.
I owned its predecessor, and had so much fun with that little thing. At the start of my career, I couldn’t afford contemporary optics, so I settled for cheap but interesting vintage lenses. Enabling autofocus for my vintage kit for only a few hundred dollars certainly beat the price of modern Sony glass.
Over time, I eventually made the switch to newer glass and sold the adapter. However, now that my career has changed course and is now focussed on cinematography, vintage glass is once again at the forefront.
I’m happy to see they still kept developing this funky little piece of tech, and I’d love to see it work for video at some point!

Another awesome video and review Casey! I was aware that Fotodiox did an autofocus adapter for manual lenses, didn't realise that Techart was doing them as well. These seem to be more streamlined than the Fotodiox ones and look much nicer on the camera. Thanks for sharing.
