That's the way to go. Even set a limit order, because it doesn't matter whether you get a candle pattern confirmation or not, price is just gonna go up or down and play silly buggers.

In a trading range, I look to sell in the top 1/3 and look to buy in the bottom 1/3. Kind of a rule I have for better risk reward.
I do something similar. I look for a favorable pattern on a runner with way higher than average volume. I set the candles to heiken ashi with a vwap or macd d and when im up I just manually decide when to sell. Im constantly winning, not as much as I sometimes could. But I dont let that bother me because im more concerned with a win rate. I used to set limits to high and it doesn't reach that limit and I find myself down, more often than I like. Id rather have constant small victories than trying to it homeruns and it works for me. Im able to have a good 2nd income doing this.

To be quite honest. After years of trading I find my trade success rate super high by jumping the gun. For Instance I made 3k this week passive income by selling selling instinctively rather than setting limits. I find that I make less than I could but a super high win rate. I could've made triple that on my trades setting limits but I could have got stopped and ended up down just as well.
