    Great video, sir!
    I emailed a university in Canada requesting for eligibility for a clinical fellowship in one of their programs as an IMG.
    They replied saying IMGs from West Africa are eligible but that it is competitive as there are many applicants from all over the world.
    The question is how do I stand out among the many applicants from all over the world in order to land a position as a clinical fellow in that University?
    Thank you.
    Much blessings.

    • @IMGSecrets
      @IMGSecrets  Год назад

      Dr. Babajide, thank you for watching the video. Your question is excellent.
      My advice to IMGs is to create a powerful application by preparing a professional-looking CV and an impressive personal statement. Instead of asking programs about your eligibility, I suggest conducting your own research and giving your best effort in the application process. Make your first impression the absolute best.
      Indeed, you're correct. Standing out amidst the competition is crucial.

    Thanks for the information. You said that once we get accepted for the fellowship, we have to do 3 things that include applying for the license to practice medicine in Canada. How do you apply for a license to practice in Canada without taking MCCQE1 and NAC? Because at that time you are still in your home country and can't take the exams because you are not a permanent resident or a citizen of Canada? Is there a way to get the license without taking the exams

      Also, I want to mention that I have gained 2 years of experience working as a pediatrician in a community health centre in Punjab, India
      If 2 years of PG training (DCH) does not make me eligible for the fellowship, Can the experience be helpfu in fulfilling the criteria for being eligible for a fellowship?

      This is a tricky situation. We have come across DCH IMGs being successful but this would require an in-depth analysis of your situation! We can comment during the chat about what path may be good for you with clarity.

    Sir i want to know. What is the path for a doctor who has done fcps from Pakistan. Do i need to repeat training in canada

    • @IMGSecrets
      @IMGSecrets  Год назад

      Many IMGs in Canada repeat residency or pursue an alternate path directly as a fellow or consultant. Eligibility for these paths depends on various factors, including academic background, candidate strength, and other relevant considerations. The specific route chosen will depend on individual circumstances and qualifications.

    Hi Sir; Does this pathway happen to be a good option for a candidate who has completed his General Surgery Residency in Pakistan (not certified consultant as of yet) and is aiming to get into fellowship for supraspecialities in general surgery as in Minimally Invasive or Colorectal Surgery ?

      Dr. Artipu, the pathway is fiercely competitive, requiring exceptional academic achievements. Are you eligible to meet the criteria and pursue this fellowship? If you believe you possess the necessary qualifications, you may apply.

      The paths are to apply for a clinical fellowship or focus directly on residency. In my opinion, entering through clinical fellowship is better. This may still entail repeating residency but chances may be higher than otherwise.

    Hey . I'm an indian. I just passed my 12th standard and i want to become a doctor in canada . But i think it's a very long procedure for international students to become doctor in canada . I can be an MD doctor in india in 8.5 years but in canada I'll have to do 4 year undergraduation then 4 year med school and then specialization to become an MD level doctor which would bascially be 5 more years if i wanna become a neurosurgeon . But i don't think it is worth it to spend these many years becoming a doctor in canada. Can anyone guide me a little about this ? I really need help . I'm confused

      Hello, I appreciate your recognition of forward thinking. Indeed, being a doctor in any specific country entails considering numerous factors beyond pure mathematics. While your mathematical perspective is valid, it is essential to acknowledge the significance of other crucial aspects, such as personal preferences regarding where one wants to reside, financial considerations, and more. These factors play a pivotal role in achieving a well-rounded assessment of the situation and making informed decisions about pursuing a medical career. Balancing the mathematical aspect with personal aspirations and practical considerations ensures a holistic approach to the equation of professional equality.

      Dear doctor, these are excellent questions.
      Congratulations on securing a clinical fellowship in Canada! It's truly commendable in this highly competitive environment.
      To optimize your chances of obtaining a attending physician position, I recommend following the steps outlined in the video. Keep in mind that many job opportunities may not be readily apparent, so it's important to be proactive and reach out to individuals.

    • @IMGSecrets
      @IMGSecrets  Год назад +1

      Dr. Rana, I'm glad to hear that you find the videos helpful. While you could certainly apply, the crucial question is whether your background and academic qualifications are strong enough to be competitive. It's important to carefully consider your options and take the next step accordingly. Repeating residency might ultimately become your only viable choice.
