Dude they're just adapted to what the new pop music has to offer and they kick ass with it. Been their strategy since Boxes. I love Goo Goo Dolls since Jed so I am a hard follower. I admire everything they have done and how they've done it!!!
This is fantastic! There seems to be a large majority of Goo fans that want more of the 90s rock sounds to come back. We know things change but this is one of the best things they’ve put out in a while. I didn’t think John had it in him anymore, but this sure changes my mind about that
I kinda digged Miracle Pill, it was their most overt stab at pop, something about shooting for the rafters was admirable. This feels like a step back, like a self conscious move that signaled they went too far and needed to reel it back in. This such a slight record, but its still going for big sentiments when intimacy as what was needed
i missed the 90s rock like green day, foo fiighters, sound garden, stone temple pilots....i'm so glad to have this album by the goo! keep rocking!

This is SO good. The short guitar runs, especially from about 2:25-2:45... we NEED more of this from John. I like how it's foreshadowed around 1:20, too.
Feels like they might have chosen this for their next single? I’m glad if so. Hopefully it’s a hit so they know we’re desperate for more “rock” like this from them. Banger this one!
I remember reading how Johnny said he went out and purchased a lot of high level and classic guitars to record this album, and it really comes thru here. I love how hard the sound of this Les Paul hits on every note, it's such a heavy sounding hit every note👌🔥

People grow and change over the years. I wouldn't expect the Goo's to be releasing the same kind of music they did 30+ years ago; they're not the same brash young punks they were back then. But I've been waiting so long to hear some more rock-oriented songs with a little attitude from them. This and "Yeah, I Like You" do an alright job of scratching that itch... I just hope Robby still gets a few tracks of his own to shine. You're making Buffalo proud, boys. ✌
Agreed. It’s still a bit too polished contrary to what John was saying about a more “band sounding feel” and more “aggression” pre album release but I’ll take it.
@@hntr-j2323 Agreed with that, as well. The drums sound a bit flat and electronic, like a drum machine - which makes sense, since they fired Mike Manlin awhile back (what was that about, guys?). But that kind of gives it a modern indie pop/rock vibe. I wish it had a bit more "oomph" in the mix, but I'm still digging it.

The more and more I listen to the record the more I think I wish they could have brought the guitars a little more to the forefront in the mix - but aye, beggars can’t be choosers haha. And I don’t mean that particularly about this song, in which the guitar is prominent, but there is a lot of piano and synth across the board which I thought was going to be dialled down.
But I hope to god Yeah, I like you and Going crazy stay in the set because I’d take them any day of the week over the poppier numbers.

these guys are getting even better - this summer's tour with OAR was absolutely incredible. I dont want this run to end and I hope they do a lot of shows in 2024. This song in concert was just unreal.

Saw them recently in CT with my wife who is a massive fan. We both really enjoyed the newer songs from this album. My favorite album by them is Superstar Car Wash and this is as close as we'll probably get to returning to that sound. Glad they finally listened and brought the more aggressive guitars back.
I love this new song!! Along with 🎶 Yeah, I like you 🎶 The whole album is pretty good!! We seen them in July at Red Rocks!! They put on a great show!! Never disappointed at a Goo concert!! 💜💜💜

@@tricky1506 Ok thats cool I've seen them 11 times in 30 years, met them twice. The new album is good but it feels like a longer EP. Its like it was made to get them on the road again. Who's the woman the sings with in this album? For many years now Brad has been taking the solos while John walks about, which is fine, but it would be good to see him rock out again here and there.
