Brandon Boyd is such a fucking fantastic singer, Jesus h christ... his tone is very unique and aggressive when it needs to be. I’ve always thought Make Yourself and Morning view are some of the best/coolest albums of the late 90s/early 2000s. Wish this band was still this baller!!

Ahh... the Album "make yourself" was a very important part in my younger days.... and it is still an important part today (age 39). I remember being in the Club with my friends... and when the DJ played this song.. the whole dance floor filled itself within 2 seconds! Good times...

Anyways, this performance of 'Privilege' is so special - because from the way they're rockin' out, you can see and tell they're in their prime and they were starting to get things going together with 'Drive'. I totally love the "raw-ness" of it! and it brings back so many memories, beautiful! =)
+chrisd137 - it sounds like during the chorus and main riff he is just running his amp's distortion (same during the intro, but with lower gain/volume). during the verse parts, it sounds like a fuzz pedal. and during the pre-chorus ("find yourself a backdoor") it sounds like he is playing through his amp's distortion channel with a phaser pedal. this is just my best guess. i could be way off.
VoXBoX 2 years late, but during the intro he has the high gain on his amp with the Compression so it has that distinctive sound, in the verses again the high gain with the Octave pedal and for the pre-chorus the high gain with the Phase 90, the chorus are only with the high gain of his amo which was a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier.
I've seen them 5 times in the last year and seeing them again in September. I think they are just getting better and better. Love the old, love the new, love INCUBUS.
