You know, I like the way different players evolve different strategies. Like, they don't discuss it or plan it out, people just start doing what they're best at. And everyone's good at something. Take Dean, for example: when Dean first started on the show, he was a bit of a liability. He was prone to run in to dangerous situations and create chaos through his inexperience (and he still has a tendency to scream randomly). But whenever anything involving battle shows up, we see a different Dean: he starts issuing orders (pretty solid orders from what I've seen) and takes charge. You can always see it when they go to the Nether. Suddenly Dean is in charge. I dunno, I like it. It's cool to see people use what they're best at in different situations.
In all honesty, he's kinda like a combination of PBG and McJones. He's very zany, but he knows what he's doing. In fact, he's tied with McJones for how many seasons he survived.
(McJones survived MC 4 and Terraria 3, while Dean survived MC 4 and MC 6.)
Yeah I like that too! I wonder if you could elaborate on other strategies you've noticed people doing, or other teamwork skills that have shown up?
And strangely for once PBG's reckless need for adventure paid off.
Yeah, and how Luke's kinda become the architect of the series and can build stairs or safe-doors in the blink of an eye
MoeChicken Exactly dude!! Dean's seriously evolved from a scrubby little Pichu into a powerful, smart Raichu. I'm proud of my son 😭 And yeah the group dynamic is amazing, especially this season IMO; everyone's got something unique and special to bring to the table

The Nether is always stressful. It's either lakes of Lava or close quarter mazes with blazes
But mostly accidentaly hitting a pigman
it would seem that they have yet to meet their doom by ghast. (or magma cube)
or an enderman because they can also spawn in the wither as well

It doesn't help that Wither skeletons blend in with the dimension's natural darkness. Get hit at any health below half, and, unless you have diamond armor, you're as good as dead.

PBG and Jeff are THE MOST reckless of the bunch. PBG going off on his own in the nether, and Jeff for literally everything he did in this episode. But at least Jeff looks like he knows what he's doing. I get so stressed watching PBG, dude rushes in without a shield. When will this boy learn??!!

It's the Nether. On average, at least two people die in the Nether. The least deadly season in the Nether outside of Season 1, when there weren't half as many things that could kill you (That was a pre-wither age) was Season 4, where Barry and Caddicarus both died to Pigmen.

It's adorable because you can see their personalities in this series. Like Peebs in running ahead and ditching because ADVENTURE and some of the others stay behind and make sure the stragglers don't get lost. It's precious.

This is the ONLY series I will not watch on anything but my Oculus Go. Put it on the RUclips app with a curved screen and SLIGHTLY wider screen than your FOV, and it’s completely immersive.

He almost died because a blaze meleed him (they can do that if you didn't know). Should have brought some snowballs. Blazes take like two hearts of damage if they are hit with snowballs.

Well, technically they do, since, unless I'm mistaken, when in the Nether, the map shows you your position relative to the overworld. However you need to know exactly where you entered the Nether, since a single block in the Nether equals eight in the Overworld.

At around 9:00 when it cout to Austin building a bridge, the music fades out slowly, and all you hear is fire, ghasts and quiet mumbling in the distance, creating an eerie suspension, like something's gonna happen to him soon, but nothing. Love that part.
Despite the early loss you guys are doing pretty well. ^_^

That section where PBG was off by himself, finding the castle... That was such great ambience. The way you could barely hear the others' voices in the distance, while PBG was silent; how he did the somewhat reckless task of the bridge over the chasm; and especially how the dramatic string-music faded off and left some really unsettling ambience to linger, until the place was discovered, that was so well done. Todd is real good at creating some fitting atmosphere.
I love how Dean is taking charge and being like a battle commander. He seems to be throwing out good strategies like switching out to fight to the blazes as a team so everyone can recoup

Yes because thats a fantastic idea. Why have a blaze spawner in a safe location right near the exit where you need to go, when you can instead destroy that one so you have to travel even further through dangerous territory for a blaze spawner? Makes perfect sense.
Will they ever learn to box off the blaze spawner to make it easy to farm them? Who knows.

Viewer’s Log: Entry 10
Day 11-Day 12(?)
The heroes have entered the Nether, and immediately face one of it’s beasts, a ghast. Fortunately for the heroes, bows are quite useful against these beings, and the group has many available.
The group ventures into the Nether, the hellish landscape proving fairly difficult intimidating. They encounter a strange chicken, presumably one of the damned. It remains a mystery what it did to get there.
The group wants to proceed downward, and Peebs gets risky on the edge of it, trying to find a way down. After some precarious walking, the group decides to dig a spiral staircase. It proves more dangerous than the heroes initially perceived, but the job gets done, while Peebs silently wanders off, finding another cliff, at the bottom of which is a treacherous Nether Fortress.
He gathers the others, and they try to find a way down. Peebs finds a spout of lava, and blocks it off, allowing safer downward travel. Hammy, being the intellectual that he is, decided to just jump, somehow to safety. He creates a staircase, and the others follow the path he created. They travel into the walls of the fortress, and encounter a blaze spawner, resulting in a fiery fight. There is debate as to whether or not it’s destruction would be wise, eventually leading to safety being prioritized over resources, and the spawner’s destruction.
As more exploration ensues, so do more battles. Jeff’s recklessness leads to his near mortality, but he escapes the blazes’ range, hiding behind the safety of the others. The Nether is not going down without a fight...

Todd, when it cut to your view and we see the blazes spawn, all I could think was "oh no, someone's gonna die to the blazes," so, (as many people have already said, great job with the editing)

Seeing who lives and dies is part of the surprise and stress that comes from Hardcore. I see why some would just skip to the end, but I personally don't.
That would ruin the element of surprise and make watching the show less exciting. I think it is way better when you watch every second thinking that it could be their last second.

Th ey actually got really lucky that not only did they get a fortress near their portal, that has a Spawner right next to where they enter, but that they have areas they can pocket themselves into in case of emergency. Legitimately I think ths will be their easiest nether trip yet
