I think I see Porterville Municipal Airport and possibly Tulare's Mefford Field in this video. How far off am I? Thanks, from a pilot who has flown into these airports many times!
grissomairport: Thank you. This was my first airplane build of any kind. I've done automotive restorations but this is my first plane build. It was a fun project.
Nice looking build. But I'm 6'2" so I don't think I could fit in it. Having restored several Corvairs I can vouch how nice an engine they had. It should serve you well.
My dad is probably about 6'1" and you can see he is a little tall for the front seat.(the front seat sits higher than the rear) I did a wing cut out in the rear so I have lots of headroom and I'm about 6'. It's definitely not a big cockpit though.
A wunderful flight video! The quality is realy nice, would be cool to hear sometimes the converstion with the tower by flight. What kind of Engine is in your Pietenpol? thx Cloud
Cloud, it looks to me like he's using a 3,000cc Corvair. Basically the same weight as a Continental O-200. Both are great engines and I've flown aircraft using both of them over time.
Блестящий самолёт! Счастливые люди.
Brilliant plane! Happy people.
Wonderful experience for him.
Looks like it climbs well even with two big guys!
haremos lo mismo con mi padre. gracias por regalarnos un recuerdo del futuro
