This was the last time we saw UNIT in that uniform and with that theme! It was the only time 11th Doctor encountered this style of UNIT. I really liked it, and was never a fan of the new UNIT we saw in the 11th Doctor's time.

They were heavily involved in the stories of the earlier incarnations. The third doctor’s run had them in almost every episode, as he was trapped on earth for quite a while then. They had their own military and scientific team with the doctor being working there as a scientific advisor. They dealt with all sorts of shenanigans including The Master and the Silurians. They were among the first entities to give the Doctor any real tangible political authority on earth.
Sarah Jane spent her whole life keeping UNIT away from her kids and not letting any of them anywhere near all the guns. .... And now Luke is working for them 😂 I know in-universe when Kate Stewart took over she made UNIT more science-orientated, but it's still kind of funny

For anyone wondering, you can retcon the timeless child. Make it so that it was some random child who became a time lord and wasn’t the doctor. The master and doctor would think it’s the doctor because the time lords changed the matrix to say it’s the doctor who became the timeless child so that the doctor would have a mental breakdown since the last time the time lords saw the doctor she had banished that rassilon guy and had shot that military time lord and then broke the laws of time by trying to bring back Clara. Then have it so that everyone else thinks it’s the doctor because the time lords were like yeah she’s the timeless child so that people would go after the doctor(as they may think that she’s still got the infinite lives and memories). Then the division(or tecteun at least) would keep this act up to try and keep it believable. Then just ignore some statements of people being like it’s the timeless child(E.G. those rags on the desert world) just like how we ignore the “I’m half human” statement of the 8th doctor
