OK...So... this is so RIDICULOUSLY hard it made me nervous to watch! That damn thing is almost perfectly symmetrical! How in the hell ?! Damn you're good!
I have been following your instagram for about 2 years. You're the best of the best (in my opinion). This is seriously so satisfying to watch. The artistry in your work is phenomenal and the way it is filmed (lighting, angle, music, etc.) is very visually appealing too. I'm a big big fan:)
I found your channel about 6 months ago. I love your work, it's so satisfying to see you make something out of a portion of clay. Keep up the good work!
I am so curious what you do with the water going into the bottle near the end .. :) . I love the late Koreo celadon wine bottles . You have a great eye for form .. You may end up letting go of using a sponge in your lifts in the next 20 years .. It was about 25 years for me :) .... Warm regards from New England .. , Yours Guy
Ok, using a blow torch on the pot: that is freakin' cool! Your leveling reminds me a lot of my throwing professor. Quick and beautiful, like silk. Miss my throwing days. Truly masterful work.
Servetka Bekirovski very awesome amazing and beautiful father's I'm very happy for your accomplishment Judith Tomlinson Potter cells on the street of Toronto byi🤗
Beautiful music choice. I'm actually using this in my writing class! Trying to get the students to envision what they want to say and to take their time!
omg at the very neck point i was like oh god oh god its gonna break its gonna break😫😫😫😫😫 and the next moment ohh it was soo delicate!! what an amazing video! keep it up
Hi from northern Japan. Very skillful. I am surprised how quickly the wheel turns for the intricacies of long-neck work. Perhaps it is mitigated by the nature of porcelain clay. Cheers, and thank you!
Wooooohooooooo xx Picked up a potters wheel today from Bristol xx Gonna make some god stuff when allowed to use it (Xmas prezzie)... Don't know sh*t about it all though... Needs a kiln too x Can't wait x
Thanks again Matt. You did let folks know what L&L kiln you recently purchased, but I can't find the information. Can you let me know again? My question is, is this kiln 2.5 or 3 inch wall thickness? I am wondering what you chose based on the time needed for temperature drop down required for the crystal growth time and temperature.
You took the sponge and put water in that vase several times while collaring the neck, did you poke a small hole at the base to drain it or did the bottom crack during the drying phase ?
Hi Matt great video. I wonder how you would turn a foot in this? What type of glaze did you use on this. If you did could you post a video on how you turned it? Thanks clement
I use a chuck to turn my pieces, but I didn't video this one unfortunately. I glaze all of my work using crystalline glazes, I don't think i have a photo of this piece in particular but you can see some examples here: ruclips.net/video/K_gxK3eLlKA/видео.html or on my website.
For some reason I find this so relaxing first time I'm watching this. You never know where you can find your relaxing moments I guess I did tonight.
OK...So... this is so RIDICULOUSLY hard it made me nervous to watch! That damn thing is almost perfectly symmetrical! How in the hell ?! Damn you're good!
You make it look so easy! So much respect for your beautiful work

Thanks for the support :)
This was incredibly mesmerizing. You handle the clay very well! I wish I could've continued on with my own work when I had the opportunity to.
Beautiful piece of throwing there Matt, you are truly "in touch" with the clay.

Aaah of course, I always forget that applying heat mid-throw is an option - beautiful work and clever process!

That vase has better curves than I do
Lmfao
Servetka Bekirovski very awesome amazing and beautiful father's I'm very happy for your accomplishment Judith Tomlinson Potter cells on the street of Toronto byi🤗

I can't believe how fast the wheel is turning all the way to the end!
You are really good!
Beautiful music choice. I'm actually using this in my writing class! Trying to get the students to envision what they want to say and to take their time!
Awesome. Superb shape. Brilliant throwing.
It is intoxicating to watch you throw! Thanks for the inspiration.
is it me or is this so soothing and satisfying?
Thank you for posting this Matt, you truly are a great potter/thrower.
This was ridiculously satisfying to watch and I have so many questions.
What about all the water still in there? Very beautiful vase!
Superb demo, Mate.
Such an aesthetically elegent shape
Total control, very nice indeed. Love watching you use your skill. You make it look so easy, I know it is not.
As a potter I want to thank you for sharing this video.

I love it when there is a good pottery maker with a good camera
The most beautiful and delicate neck I 've ever seen!
Why is this so satisfying to watching?! SO good!
This is even more satisfying to watch than caligraphy
This was amazing to watch...Beautiful work
WOW MATT, That was truly Awesome !I have wanted to work with clay on a wheel. Thank You for Reminding Me of A Child Hood Dream.✌
You're really good at this, its so smooth and clean when you mold it. Awesome keep up the good work.
Wow! That's hypnotic, and beautiful to watch😯
so beautiful, and you have really nice hands too
I'm a freshman ceramics student and I'm so excited to start working on the wheel😍😍
That was like watching a ballet. You are an amazing potter.
Nice vase, chill music.
this is a very beautiful piece. It was very relaxing watching it all come together. Thank you for sharing with us.
This is so technically perfect! Your form is flawless... Makes me want to do more pottery again. I miss it!
Wonderful, beautiful, precise and exquisite work!
I'm jealous of how easy it seemed for you to get such a tall and thin neck. Most of the stuff I made when I took a class ripped right in half… :')
Sorry if this question was already asked but how to you keep the inside walls of the neck from touching together and closing off the form?
Have to be very careful not to close it up... If it's very thin I could use a needle on the inside ;)
Oh my goodness! That is so beautiful!
thats so ridiculously masterful
So perfectly centered it doesn't even look like its turning! SKILL!
That was so relaxing to watch. Beautiful.
Matt you have amazing talent
clay masters..... excellent work
This video is so soothing
So gorgeous & beautifully made.
I know nothing about pottery, but this thing is amazing. :-)
this is a perfect piece of art!

I had to get a pottery app after watching this lmao
yeah, this is cool
yeah, it really makes me wanna make something but I can't so it kinda makes me sad :( but that's ok
yes you can. anyone can do anything, u just have to take that first step
Beautiful work and beautiful music. Reminds me of Stars of the lid ❤
Wooooohooooooo xx
Picked up a potters wheel today from Bristol xx
Gonna make some god stuff when allowed to use it (Xmas prezzie)...
Don't know sh*t about it all though...
Needs a kiln too x
Can't wait x
I subscribed after one video because your so talented I just want to see more of you work ;)
beautiful hands.
what form of sorcery takes place at 3:15?
Nicely done! How did you get all the water out of it? You didn't show that part...
Beautiful, I usually call these wind-pipes on the pottery app I have on the phone. When they have a larger bottom I call them sack wind-pipes. :3
i watch this when im too much thinking about things .,. itsso very satisfying also the music
absolutely beautoful! so much patience.
With these type of delicate necks, how would you to about footing the bottom?
so whats with the blow torch? just skinning the exterior for a bit more structure while brining in the top?
your videos are inspirational Matt :)
Simply perfection.
few questions. why did u use the torch outside of the vase? and other is does these types of vases break easier when baked?
This is so satisfying
Masterful, im in a pottery class rn, thats soo good
Smooth with a capital SMOO buddy!
Muito bonito seu trabalho!! É argila? Porque não havia visto essa cor ainda...
Amazing job 💐💐 love from Iraq 🇮🇶
these videos are oddly satisfying
Matt, would you show your trimming one of your pieces like this? That would be great. Thanks
Chris Amar sure, I'll see what I can do :)
Matt Horne Pottery Thanks Matt. I'm sure you've been asked this before, but I'm wondering what cone you fire at?
Chris Amar I fire to cone 10 oxidation

a part of me really likes this and the other just wants him to cut it in half so i can see the wall
It looks like there would be still water inside the vase!
Haha ikr
May I know anyone knows how should the base be trimmed afterwards?
You took the sponge and put water in that vase several times while collaring the neck, did you poke a small hole at the base to drain it or did the bottom crack during the drying phase ?
Beautiful shape!
I do not seem to be able to get my bottoms right - they are much too heavy. I do not rib very much. Is that part of my problem?
Beautiful hands 😌
Very helpful for collaring in
How do you get the water from the doings back out
Hi Matt great video. I wonder how you would turn a foot in this? What type of glaze did you use on this. If you did could you post a video on how you turned it? Thanks clement

Great work
Fine art!
Beautiful work man... Thanks
Lovely work. It does look like there would be excess water in the base of the vase. How do you get it out when the neck is so thin?
I remove the water before closing in the neck. I try to make sure any water added afterwards only falls on the outside of the vase :)
That was amazing, really relaxing too.
Quite clear. Thank you so much!
even watching is exciting. my heart beat is getting higher 'til end.
Thats so cool... I wanna do that... looks so good...
This is so beautiful.
This is so beautiful
wow. hey, why did you use the blow torch on the vase? what effect does that have on the clay??
+Vijit Allada it helps give a sturdy base by getting it to a slightly dryer state so it doesn't collapse while you're pulling the top of the vase
Abbie Loveridge thanks! that helps!
That is very cool and satisfying ❤️👍🏽
Why you use Fire from torch?
