Just found you today and I love ya’. Continue to live your good life and giving God the glory. My husband is going to be 83 and I am quickly approaching 70 and can relate. We will remember you in our prayers.
Please don’t be defensive about your lifestyle. We love you just the way you are and people should never judge you. You both are so genuine and down to earth and I love that about you. 💕
3 cheers for us 70 +'s who are still enjoying our biscuits, cornbread and taters in moderation. 😊 Thanks Marie & Calvin for your wonderful videos. Many of your recipes are now regulars in our kitchen. (Your latest cabbage, potatoes and bacon is a HUGE hit. I'm wondering why I never thought of adding the taters before.) May God Bless you both, and all who have been blessed to find your wonderful channel. 😇💓
Good morning Calvin and Marie. My husband and I were raised up learning to keep our pantry supplied. Both our parents grew up in The Great Depression so they learned at a very young age that things can go sideways in a heartbeat. It’s always better to be ready for an emergency than to be unprepared. I hope you both have a great week this week. God bless you both.
Blessings to you both! You both spread kindness and goodness in a dark time. That makes you a target for the dark side and the dark side uses people to try to hinder and distract us from accomplishing good! Keep up the good work. I pray that those who attack will see the love that you respond with and their hearts will be healed in Jesus name! Such a timely reminder to us all about not judging. I thank God for your beautiful hearts! 💕💕💕
I will only say that what drew me to this channel is that you seem like ordinary folks trying to live ordinary lives as decently, frugally and joyfully as possible. We're all just neighbors with our own strengths and weaknesses. On a side note, am praying that Kim and family don't lose their Gus. That's a hard loss. Enjoy your Sunday ❤
Being seniors on a fixed income especially these days we buy what we can afford. I use canned vegetables all the time. I also use some frozen and some fresh. It's a balance. I've been trying to lose weight all my life and am constantly learning what's good and what's bad for us. Fairly recently I learned that seed oils are horrible for us . I buy olive oil but I can't afford to use avacado oil so I also use vegetable oil and canola oil. It's not good for us but you do what you have to do. Yall just keep on doing what you're doing! I love having great people like yall to watch and get good recipes from. ❤❤
Thanks very much Janet. We used Canola oil for many years but I like vegetable oil because it fries food better. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
@SouthernCountryLiving I honestly don't fry too much food. I hadn't noticed that vegetable oil is better for frying but that's what I'm buying now because it's cheaper than canola.
We appreciate you talking about being prepared. Many people don’t think ahead until someone mentions it. There are so many reasons why we might not be able to get our groceries… And especially with people being laid off of jobs lately. It’s such a blessing to have, those canned goods on the shelf. In all these storms that have put electricity out, it’s a blessing to have food that’s not requiring refrigeration. Thank you for sharing with us how to be prepared.🦋
I say the older one gets the more liberty they should take in eating anything and everything they want!! Eat dessert first, life is short! Everyone else mind your own business. Love your comment.
I had an Aunt in Georgia that lived to be 99 and she ate like that. I worked with a man that ate bacon, eggs and toast daily for breakfast and he's still going in his 90s.
Y’all are the greatest!!! Don’t apologize for prepping, what you eat, or anything else! And if you get hateful messages, just delete them and block them! God bless you both! You’re a breath of fresh air!
I love you guys. Marie I love your attitude tonight. People really should just realize we all try to eat right, but doggone we need some Coco-Cola and sweet treats in our lives! 😊😁✌️❤️
When covid hit, I turned our office room to a pantry. I bought canned veggies, meat, and fish. I dont usually eat this way, but bought for emergency reasons. Now, 3 years later, im trying to incorporate these items into my meal planning, so they dont go to far beyond the best by date. I hate throwing food away, as I always thank God for his Blessings. God has children in poor countries who eat only rice and beans every single day, and yet they live and appreciate what they have. Our life and health is God ordained. We always strive for righteous living, but it is God who knows our story from beginning to end. So as we strive to do our best in his strength, we must remain in his Blessings, grace, joy and peace in which we were also instructed to do. God Bless you both ❤~~~
Since we've got older we don't prep as deep as we used to. At one time we strived to keep a two year supply of food and it did take care of us during a nine month period back in 2013. Like I said we have cut back some now, but if you have items that are getting close to the date you can consider donating them to either a food bank or a homeless shelter. There is plenty of people in need that can use them. We are currently trying to maintain about a nine month supply but we still need to donate some of it sometimes.
@SouthernCountryLiving Yes, thank you for the feedback. I cannot donate expired can goods. I know they are still good though, so I'm trying to use them up best I can.
YOU EAT WHAT YOU WANT! I HAVE WATCHED WHAT I HAVE EATEN ALL MY LIFE... AND NOW I EAT WHAT I WANT WHEN I WANT. DON"T STOP YOUR WONDERFUL COOKING RECIPIES, I COOK ALMOST LIKE YOU DO... THE DR. TOLD MY HUSBAND "YOU EAT WHAT YOU WANT AT YOUR AGE.HOW ABOUT THAT!
You are both so kind and gracious - it makes me sad that people are rude or hurtful to you. When people say things like that, it says a lot more about them than it does about you. You are so loved! ❤ 🤗 I especially appreciate your economical meals. So many families are struggling right now, it’s very helpful.
I absolutely love your videos.. may sound crazy to u two but if I’m have a stressful day… o watch your videos. U both have such calming voices.. I love when u go out and abt to different places. So enjoy! I’m going to be 73! Have a great day 🙏🏻🙏🏻
In our 70's, too!! My husband always says that God gave us an immune system!!! I am a small prepper, too. It's nice to have a little grocery store in our home! Enjoy y'all! May God bless you!
God bless you, Marie and Calvin, hi, I’m Margo, I’ve been binging on your videos, I greatly appreciate your videos as a Senior myself, New Subscriber here. 😊
❤❤it's Ingrid again,👵♥️🖐️ Calvin remember the time you lost your job and you all had to live on the stack of food you had in the back room let me tell you something that open my eyes and from that day forth I've been stalking food cuz we are in our 60s over here and if my husband lost his job we would be in trouble I praise God for that video maybe you should put it up VIDEO again Calvin love you both GOD BLESS YOU.,👍🌼💐🌸🌺💮♥️✝️❤❤.
I wouldn't let other peoples negative opinions bother me. They are condemning and that is of the enemy. Those kind of people like to create drama. We love watching your channel and your honesty. ❤
You two are wonderful! I appreciate the kindness in your words. We were talking after a big birthday party for a 90 year old how angry people are. Deceit everywhere. Don’t worry about those who say mean things. It is everywhere. Love your scripture time 😊.
You should never have to explain to anyone why you eat what you do. As long as you are happy and your food makes you feel good, eat what you want. I have seen so many people who don't have a lot of choices to choose from. They may not be able to afford why society thinks we should eat. I have also seen plenty of overweight doctors. If our choices don't harmfully affect anyone, we should keep quiet about what others do. You two are so refreshing to watch. I love the love that you have for each other.
I truly enjoy watching your channel, every part of it. There are prople who are just out spoken. Enjoy your lives and dont let what others think or say bother you.
Enjoyed this Sunday chat so much. You two need to eat whatever you want & ignore the rude comments. I absolutely loved seeing "Sarcastic Marie" come out today. She was a hoot!
I just found your channel. The more I watch they more I'm loving you guys!! I have to eat gluten free and have learned (in my older years) to eat plant-based ...I also have a a stocked pantry of vegetable canned goods/grains and potatoes...especially having gone through the recent Pandemic. It's smart to have extras. I've learned that carbs are fine to eat all day, everyday....it's what we put on the carbs that is so very destructive to the body. May God continue to Bless you both!!
It’s got to be hard putting yourself out on social media because there are ppl out there who have to comment on everything. I appreciate you sharing and the sweet spirit it’s done in. You’re wise to not take those comments to heart as they are most likely from someone who is hurting in some way and just trying to make themselves feel more important.
Good morning Calvin and Marie. My husband and I are your age. We have a home almost exactly as yours, and we have turned one of the bedrooms into a pantry. We have filled it with shelf stable foods of all kinds. Just like you, some people think we have gone over the edge by doing this. We also have 4 freezers, we grow a garden for our fresh vegetables. I dehydrate things that I have in abundance. If things should go downhill and we lost access to a grocery store, we have enough to take care of our grown children and grandchildren to see us through the hard times. If people think that hard times can't happen nowadays, then we would help them too. Look at all the tornadoes that have wiped out an entire town. They don't even have water or electricity. Our walk in pantry room is what's going to save us. And yes, Calvin, don't forget to have alittle cash of ALL denominations, including coins on hand. My husband and I have it labeled as emergency $$. My husband and I have been married for 52 years and we have lived through "lean" times, and we have learned to buy only what we can pay for and save money where we can. I would say that it has paid off. Pay no attention to to those people who question your ways. They will be the people who need help should things go downhill. Thank you. Until next week.
Thanks very much Kathy. Yes, we are doing the same things that you are doing. Marie and I both had a hard life growing up so we were determined to do the best that we could for our family. Most younger people today have had it to easy and they don't understand how hard life can be. Have a Blessed week, Calvin and Marie
You are living pretty much the same as us. We had a wood burning stove installed for heat and even cooking on top. I have lost power before. I'm ready. Hopefully.
You would think anyone who lived through COVID would have learned their lesson about stocking up on essentials. But the current younger generation is coddled so much they don’t think of preparing for emergencies. I guess they figure their parents will bail them out, again. Lol 😂
@@annarusinyak8234I live in TX and when our 'great freeze" happened several years ago, you can bet your bottom dollar people were thankful they had canned goods to cook on camping stoves if they were lucky and had one. People were without power for Many(!) days. It was awful!
Weather disasters are more common than they used to be so I keep a stocked pantry because my son and my granddaughter don’t. My home would be a refuge for them and their spouses if need be. Your devotional hit most of us. I judge harshly those in authority who harm our children by not protecting them and I just can’t stop. But I do pray about and for them, there is so much evil in our time. God bless and please continue your uplifting channel. Love the grandchildren, the cooking, the flowers and the love you share.
Hello from KY love you and your channel and your family ❤️.Marie you are so comical i giggled at your comments.People are so aggravating aren't they?Just do you.Ignore the ignorant comments.Loved the pics of the family.Loved Marie running with Addison and Calvin playing with Avery.Avery is a little mini me of Addison.Have a great week.❤❤❤
God gives us all things to enjoy. I agree with Marie ALL things in moderation! We are only here for. a short time.As you always say do what you love and love what you do.We also stock up on canned things and many non perishables
You two are beautiful precious people. I really enjoy your videos. I stock up my pantry too and try to keep the freezer with plenty of things. We are in our 70’s as well. There is nothing wrong with what you eat. We are having fire ants here really bad this year.
Hi Marie hi Calvin 🖐️👵❤its INGRID, I get what you're saying it's true ,,but WE, know out there WE all also have slip-ups and we all judge each other , it's a thing we all need work in..👍🤔but also we all have economic situations and we need to buy food as we can and I know the canned foods and all that has a lot of salt and stuff but what are we going to do we have to cook and buy as we can afford, and Calvin you said it right 💪❤🖐️love you both , God bless yALL..♥️✝️💮🌺🌼💐🌸
Good Morning I have been watching your channel for several months. I love everything y’all do. I would enjoy seeing your freezer and how you prep your freezer. I have made several of your recipes and have enjoyed them all. Have a wonderful week.
I don’t understand how others don’t see the reason behind prepping. It’s not extreme, but we all need to be prepared for anything. I would think given the “pandemic” everyone would understand. Y’all keep doing what you’re doing, I appreciate your insight and ideas!
With all the poison on our grocery shelf, i find it is most important to pray before we eat. Love you both very much! And those baby girls are precious! I can certainly tell they are sisters! Enjoy!!!
Good day Calvin and Marie, Love the devotions. People can criticize but you're the prettiest flower in the garden. Have a beautiful blessed week.❤💕 Much love, Rennie
Hello Calvin and Marie. We are in our 70's, you all are just like us we have lots of canned goods, I use jarred garlic and English muffins. Love the sweets. We also eat in moderation. Take care. Mrs Lonnie
That's a great devotional. It is so true. Don't judge because you can be doing the same thing or something same or worse. My grandfather always said "Once you walked in my moccasins then you can judge." You haven't walked the life of others so don't judge. I grew up with just a dad raising 4 kids. He always had food stocked for us. He taught me to keep a 20 dollar bill in my wallet just in case I needed gas or whatever. Great video. Some people are just rude! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. You are both wonderful people.
Y'all are beautiful people, just keep being who Y'all are.I always love your devotionals Marie. I enjoy y'alls channel. Sorry that i'm late but we've had a busy day. So love what ya'll do, and do what ya'll love. We all need to be prepared, that's what we do. ❤❤❤
My heart goes out to you! I feel so bad that you even feel the need to explain how you eat and what you put in your pantry. God love you! Keep doing what you're doing the way you're doing it. We all love you and God Smiles on it!❤😊
I just love your channel. Just block rude people 😒 Im so sorry the ugly trolls have been leaving rude comments. I really appreciate your channel and genuine content that you share with us. I understand Marie. I love my Dr Pepper Zero each day. I dont drink coffee so that's my morning drink of choice 😋 yes..to each his own. Love yall. Karen from Columbus Ga.
It’s so easy to judge others. We should be looking at ourselves. Those pictures are so precious. Those girls are beautiful.. you all seem so very happy together.
God bless you Marie, I can tell ever who sent those ugly comments has really hurt you, I hope you can find comfort in knowing you have many subscribers that love everything you both do and stand for! Have a wonderful week!🫶🙏
Thanks very much Jeannie. Yes it did get to Marie this week more than it normally would but she is much better this morning. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Your kitchen is so clean. It is refreshing to look at I am jealous. After my hip and knee surgery hopefully mine will be the same. My coffee mug says god bless this mess l o l
In this day and time you need to be prepared! My husband and I try to “be prepared”. During Covid that situation showed that you need to have food, and paper products on hand! And we do! Our kids make fun of us because of my many many packages of toilet paper and paper towels!
I absolutely love yall videos. It's a blessing and helpful to me with the content yall share. Living your life the best you can is all you can do. The negative Nancy's need to leave yall alone. Yall are doing great and thank yall for doing the devotions. Absolutely love it.
You guys are precious. Don’t let others steal your joy. My hubby is a Baptist Pastor in Los Angeles and we are Southerners, so you know we get teased and criticized 😊 We have had to cut down on many things we used to eat due to some health issues. But you said it, everything has something wrong with it if you listen to all the media, etc. So we strive to make best choices. That’s the best we can do. We trust in Christ and are thankful for what he provides. I would love to have the space to keep a little more on hand, but we do prep for emergencies. Living in earthquake country, it’s a must. It’s just common sense. As empty nesters we don’t have to keep quite as much as we did when we had kids around. But we love our canned goods… just the best for long term. Keep doing what you are doing..many appreciate it.. ❤️
I fixed the bacon, fried cabbage and potatoes yesterday. I kept the bacon separate and added corned beef toward the end. I then used the bacon with lettuce and tomato slices. It was delicious. Thank you for doing the recipe. It was a hit here. I used 1 bag of the coleslaw mix and 4 medium potatoes. It was plenty for 4 people. Thank you Calvin and Marie. May God bless you and keep you both safe.
Hi! I am a 50 year old woman and I love your cooking. I have even made a few of your recipes. Slot of them are economical. That is fine for me and my family. God Bless you and all your family.
Good morning!! Loved the devotional today. I am sorry you had someone who was rude to you. Sometimes I wonder if manners are still a thing in this world!! Anyway, I hope you don’t change a thing. Life is too short and you should eat what you want within moderation. We love your channel just as it is! Loved the pictures of Avery and Addison!! Calvin I can see you in little Avery, especially when she smiles so big!! Have a blessed week and you do what you love and love what you do and don’t worry about those rude folks! Kristi and Charlie
Y’all are so awesome! I love and appreciate you both and love your recipes. I really enjoy when y’all pick up some biscuits and go to the lake to eat in the car and enjoy the water and nature. I love the recipes and the family time you share with us. I am so sorry for the hateful people who make mean comments about you. Anyone who would do that is just unhappy-I’m very sad that they don’t have the joy of the Lord in them.
I just came across your channel quite by chance today. This is my 3rd of your videos I'm watching & plan on watching many, many more. I'll be 62 come June but was forced to retire 10 yrs ago due to multiple disabilities & my husband also due to a drunk driver hitting him. So we are on limited resources too but have become somewhat of preppers also. My parents grew up in the depression so I heard all my life of difficult times esp requarding precious food. Also, growing up in CA always need to be prepared for earthquakes & where I live now there was a wild fire that with us being prepared (yes! Canned goods!) we were ok! And in our case electricity was out for over a month.. we have a generator so could turn on to cook but not for refrigerated foods as its run on gas. So yay to canned goods for storage & survival!!
Thanks very much Teresa. Yes the can goods saved us back in 2013. We lived off of them for 9 months. It was a good thing that we had a good supply put back. We never know what or when the next emergency is going to happen to us.
Yes!! We have fire ants everywhere! As far as prepping, that just makes good sense! We prep, not dooms day but in case of an emergency. We live in eastern NC and have flooded many times. I can everything especially when there are specials on meats. We have a garden and I can all my vegetables. So if someone comments negatively they could be the ones in great need when something tragic happens! So prep on!! Love you guys❤️
Dear Marie, I understand what you were saying and you needn’t fret about it one bit!! You and Calvin are a great and wise couple. I love seeing all your videos and enjoy making your recipes. Have a happy and blessed week!! -Julie❤️❤️
Hello Calvin and Marie Just love the pictures of you with the great grand babies. Marie your top is beautiful on you. The devotional was right on. It is hard to believe how critical people are. I think you are both a blessing to me. We eat the best we can for what is available and what we can afford. Love your channel. You are like family to me.
Well it is sad that people out there only feel the need to be rude or say nasty things to others, like you said Marie and Calvin, they don't know you two! You both are so kind and sweet! I am new to your channel and love many of your easy delicious meals and desserts! I know you two don't expect your audience to love everything for certain reasons one might have, but we all have individual choices to make of our own and we all have our own tastes, so we all should be kind and respect what others like or dislike. You both are such good-hearted people! By the way, coming from Canada, I had never heard of that delicious Watergate salad we made a few weeks back! If I hadn't watched your channel, I would have missed out for the remainder of my life! If we want to eat that everyday for dessert, like you did for lunch Calvin when a young lad, who stopped you then, and who's going to stop me now? lol By the way, loved the light humor Marie and your positive attitude, both of you are awesome! Also, both of you looked very nice in your pretty flowered top Marie and the gold shirt really suits you Calvin! Keep smiling and God bless you, your sweet, precious, Grandbabies and family!
Loved seeing the great grand babies with you at your house. I can't believe some people questioned why you have extra canned goods in your pantry! My parents grew up during the Depression and we live in Hawaii, so we have always kept an extra supply of canned goods, toilet paper, etc...because living in the middle of the Pacific, if our supply chain or if there is a dock workers strike or if we have a natural disaster, we can't just drive to another state to buy things. Prepping just makes sense to me. I love seeing everything you share with us. Have a blessed week! BTW, we are preparing to eat the KFC coleslaw today with BBQ ribs and corn today! Thanks for sharing this recipe with us.
Enjoyed Marie’s devotion today …prepping is a great thing we don’t do it but the more we watch y’all we really should do it like Calvin said never know when something could happen and you may need the canned foods …and yes it is really hard to eat healthy we know but we try but we are like y’all want to enjoy some foods we can splurge sometimes God Bless y’all
Love to you both! I’m so sorry you needed to explain yourselves to those judgmental uneducated individuals. I guarantee anyone who complained about your use of canned foods has plenty of cans in their pantry. If we learned anything from COVID it was to be prepared with a storage of food and cleaning products. I guess those judgmental people did not learn that lesson. You do not need to explain yourself to anyone. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Eat whatever you want, it’s no one’s business. Life is short eat the cake!! 🧁🍦🎂🍰🍧
Our son moved from California to Georgia a few years ago. California is very warm and the air is a dry hot.. the first time we went to Georgia to visit him he explained that he can't store bread very well in Georgia because the air is so damp. It is easier to store food items like bread in California because our humidity level is so low (very dry - like 44% in the summer). In places like Georgia, the humidity is very high (more than 60%) & bread just doesn't keep well so people eat more biscuits they can make up a small batch and enjoy them but they don't have to worry the humidity because they'll just make a new batch the next time they're going to have an egg sandwich or something like that. I find it's really interesting the different ways that people have to work around the humidity. Calvin and Marie you're doing a great job and you're very creative and very kind to share your recipes. 😊We have made many of your recipes our - go to recipes. I think one thing that people may need to understand is once you get over 60 years - sometimes you want quick and easy recipes. Marie, I love your devotionals and I love how you talk directly to us - and and share the gospel. 🌺 I really love that blouse that you were wearing today, it's very pretty with the beautiful tropical hibiscus flowers. I shared your thought on Facebook today, "to each their own" because I am a firm believer of individualism. I am certain that there's a lot of people that would object to the way that I think and things that I do but I don't worry about that.... I like being unique. For example I grow my own vegetables and I have my own chickens for eggs. I like to buy items that are made in the USA and I went through all of my dishes and silverware and gave everything away that was made in China... Some people might frown upon that, but I don't care. I am very proud to be an American, so I have a tall flagpole and I fly the American flag every day. You are both doing a great job just keep up the good work. Also I wanted to touch bases that I have at least 3 months food supply.... It is important to have emergency supplies of food or just an abundance of food so if you need something you don't have to keep running to the store and you can just go out to the cupboard and get that can of mushrooms or whatever you need without having to get in the car and drive all the way across town to go to the store. I highly recommend that everybody have a few shelves of food for an emergency. Canned foods are very important but it's a good idea to have an extra freezer full of frozen meats and vegetables on hand. Many churches encourage members to have food storage of at least a few months here is a link for more information about emergency food storage.... www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/emergency-preparedness/01-food-and-water-storage/01-preparing-emergency-food-storage?lang=eng
Thanks very much. Yes, the humidity is high here in Georgia. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments. Have a Blessed week, Calvin and Marie
I watched this video again and I'm laughing with Marie..bless her heart she keeps bringing up the carbs and eating healthy. You eat what you want to eat. Let the other people worry about themselves 😉
You both are so precious you eat and enjoy your life you don't owe anyone an explanation of what you eat or how much your not telling anyone else what to eat or not I wish I did as good as you both do it hurts me that anyone could hurt youns I love you both God bless you you have never made me feel bad only feel blessed ❤️your friend in Christ Shelby
Awesome great video. I would not even listen to people making bad comments. There are always people starting trouble on RUclips. I love the meals you all cook. I think you guys eat pretty well. God bless you always. Thank you for all the prayers for Franklin Charles. Please keep him in your prayers always. Thank you and God bless you and your channel.
I just found your channel and I just love you guys!! Keep doing what you want to do and ignore the judgemental people. I am in Vermont so I love seeing the yummy southern cooking and recipes 😊
Great Video and pictures. If there is a food shortage you will be happy you have those can goods.Have a beautiful Sunday enjoy, Marie I love your top very spring like.👍🙏❤️

My friend had his first eye cataract surgery this week and he said it didn't take very long and he is pleased with the result! I have been putting mine off and go back to the Dr. in June. I'm 74 and know how much these things scare us. I'll be praying for you!
I can't imagine how anyone could comment rudely towards you. Y'all just keep doing what you're doing. I so like the recipes you make. Glad to see you guys prepared. Taking care of yourselves. Thanks for the videos....
I have been watching you both. And my daughter is 34 now. But you both remind me of how my mum and dad came to see our daughter and stopped at the dollar store and always had something for her. Actually they were like my daughter’s best friends. They would play with her. We have so many good memories with my daughter mum and dad. Keep it up
Prep on! For anyone with parents and/or grandparents who survived the depression, being prepared and living frugally is a way of life. Let’s just say, our fam didn’t have a toilet paper shortage during Covid. 😉😁
I am so amazed at people hiding behind the keyboard and being rude. God bless Calvin and Marie. They are wonderful God loving people. 🙏🏻

Yes you sure do and God bless you 🙏
I enjoy watching your videos. Just ignore those rude people. You don't need to justify anything you do. Enjoy life! God bless you both.
Thanks very much Gina
We appreciate you talking about being prepared. Many people don’t think ahead until someone mentions it. There are so many reasons why we might not be able to get our groceries… And especially with people being laid off of jobs lately. It’s such a blessing to have, those canned goods on the shelf. In all these storms that have put electricity out, it’s a blessing to have food that’s not requiring refrigeration. Thank you for sharing with us how to be prepared.🦋
Yes, you are absolutely right Angel. Thanks very much.
Mrs Marie and Mr. Calvin live your best life if it consists of biscuits, sausage and sugar so be it. I love watching yall❤
Thanks very much
I say the older one gets the more liberty they should take in eating anything and everything they want!!
Thanks very much
I think you guys are Absolutely Amazing!!!! Thank you for sharing the Devotional today!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Thanks very much Lori
I love you guys. Marie I love your attitude tonight. People really should just realize we all try to eat right, but doggone we need some Coco-Cola and sweet treats in our lives! 😊😁✌️❤️
Yes we do. Thanks very much
When covid hit, I turned our office room to a pantry.
When I am havin g a 'down' day, your beautiful attitudes raise my spirits, so ignore the negativity. You have a gift of spreading happy smiles.
You are so kind. Thanks very much Laura
You both are loved and appreciated. You do you...and do what you love! That's why we watch. ;)
Thank you so much!
Thank you, I will
Why on earth would anyone be so mean to you guys you two are the sweetest people ever
Thanks very much Rhonda
You are both so kind and gracious - it makes me sad that people are rude or hurtful to you. When people say things like that, it says a lot more about them than it does about you. You are so loved! ❤ 🤗 I especially appreciate your economical meals. So many families are struggling right now, it’s very helpful.
Thanks very much Sharon. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
I work at a food bank, and many folks have just lost their jobs for various reasons. They love the canned foods and can really make ends meet!! 🙏
Thanks for sharing. We appreciate your wonderful comments.
I absolutely love your videos.. may sound crazy to u two but if I’m have a stressful day… o watch your videos. U both have such calming voices.. I love when u go out and abt to different places. So enjoy! I’m going to be 73! Have a great day 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!
In our 70's, too!! My husband always says that God gave us an immune system!!! I am a small prepper, too. It's nice to have a little grocery store in our home! Enjoy y'all! May God bless you!
Love it!! Thanks very much Susan.
Im only 40 and I love watching your channel! I've always been an old soul at heart!
Thanks very much Gloria
God bless you, Marie and Calvin, hi, I’m Margo, I’ve been binging on your videos, I greatly appreciate your videos as a Senior myself, New Subscriber here. 😊
Welcome Margo. Thanks very much
Thank you, have a blessed day.
That's right! Thanks very much Ingrid
I think you are both very sweet and caring. Don’t let the negativity get you down. I have made several of your recipes and loved them
Thank you so much!
Thank you both for all of the effort that it takes to make these videos. I enjoy them so much. God bless you 💕
Glad you like them! Thanks very much Cathy
Good morning Ms Marie and Mr Calvin. The fire ants here in Louisiana are relentless this year. I ❤'d Ms Marie's mini rant. Have a blessed week!
Good morning! Thanks very much.
I wouldn't let other peoples negative opinions bother me. They are condemning and that is of the enemy. Those kind of people like to create drama. We love watching your channel and your honesty. ❤
Thanks very much
You two are wonderful! I appreciate the kindness in your words. We were talking after a big birthday party for a 90 year old how angry people are. Deceit everywhere. Don’t worry about those who say mean things. It is everywhere. Love your scripture time 😊.
Thanks very much Rita
Rita. I agree about the anger. People have changed.
Thanks very much Judy, we appreciate your wonderful comment.
I truly enjoy watching your channel, every part of it. There are prople who are just out spoken. Enjoy your lives and dont let what others think or say bother you.
Thank you so much Diane
Enjoyed this Sunday chat so much. You two need to eat whatever you want & ignore the rude comments. I absolutely loved seeing "Sarcastic Marie" come out today. She was a hoot!
Lol, I like this comment. Marie's dad's nickname was "hoot".
Thanks very much Donna
I just found your channel. The more I watch they more I'm loving you guys!! I have to eat gluten free and have learned (in my older years) to eat plant-based ...I also have a a stocked pantry of vegetable canned goods/grains and potatoes...especially having gone through the recent Pandemic. It's smart to have extras. I've learned that carbs are fine to eat all day, everyday....it's what we put on the carbs that is so very destructive to the body. May God continue to Bless you both!!
Welcome!! Thanks very much
It’s got to be hard putting yourself out on social media because there are ppl out there who have to comment on everything. I appreciate you sharing and the sweet spirit it’s done in. You’re wise to not take those comments to heart as they are most likely from someone who is hurting in some way and just trying to make themselves feel more important.
So true! Thanks very much Julie. It's nice comments from people like you that keeps us going.
Have a Blessed week,
Calvin and Marie
Thanks very much Betty
Hello from KY love you and your channel and your family ❤️.Marie you are so comical i giggled at your comments.People are so aggravating aren't they?Just do you.Ignore the ignorant comments.Loved the pics of the family.Loved Marie running with Addison and Calvin playing with Avery.Avery is a little mini me of Addison.Have a great week.❤❤❤

You all are great witnesses for the Lord! You love your family as we love ours! Keep on doing your channel!
Yes we will continue. Thanks very much
God gives us all things to enjoy. I agree with Marie ALL things in moderation! We are only here for. a short time.As you always say do what you love and love what you do.We also stock up on canned things and many non perishables
So true! Thanks very much Sue
Marie's closing motto sure applies here to this video. It would be nice if people out there could remember - "to each his own."
Thanks very much Michele
You both are precious people. Keep doing what have been. I love to watch you both
Thanks very much
You two eat what you want and do what you enjoy. Life is short and you’re good people so you hv nothing to explain to anyone.
Thanks very much Melissa
You two are beautiful precious people. I really enjoy your videos. I stock up my pantry too and try to keep the freezer with plenty of things. We are in our 70’s as well. There is nothing wrong with what you eat. We are having fire ants here really bad this year.
Thanks very much Cathy. I guess that the early heat and excessive rain that we have had this year is contributing to the fire ants being so bad.
Thanks very much Ingrid.
❤🙏🏼 Calvin and Marie Do what you want and Do what you like 👍🏼 that’s all it matters in this life 🙏🏼 I love all your recipes 😋🥰
Thanks very much
Good Morning
I have been watching your channel for several months. I love everything y’all do. I would enjoy seeing your freezer and how you prep your freezer. I have made several of your recipes and have enjoyed them all. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks very much, that is a good idea.
I don’t understand how others don’t see the reason behind prepping. It’s not extreme, but we all need to be prepared for anything. I would think given the “pandemic” everyone would understand. Y’all keep doing what you’re doing, I appreciate your insight and ideas!
Thanks very much
With all the poison on our grocery shelf, i find it is most important to pray before we eat. Love you both very much!
And those baby girls are precious! I can certainly tell they are sisters! Enjoy!!!
Yes, thanks very much
Love you guys! Love Marie being Snarky. Have a wonderful week.❤
Lol, thanks very much Donna
Good day Calvin and Marie,
Love the devotions. People can criticize but you're the prettiest flower in the garden.
Have a beautiful blessed week.❤💕
Much love,
Rennie
Thanks very much Rennie. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Hello Calvin and Marie. We are in our 70's, you all are just like us we have lots of canned goods, I use jarred garlic and English muffins. Love the sweets. We also eat in moderation. Take care. Mrs Lonnie
Thanks very much Mrs Lonnie. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Thanks very much
Y'all are beautiful people, just keep being who Y'all are.I always love your devotionals Marie. I enjoy y'alls channel. Sorry that i'm late but we've had a busy day. So love what ya'll do, and do what ya'll love. We all need to be prepared, that's what we do. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🤗
Love you both all the pictures of grandbabies just precious! ❤😊
Thanks very much
My heart goes out to you! I feel so bad that you even feel the need to explain how you eat and what you put in your pantry. God love you! Keep doing what you're doing the way you're doing it. We all love you and God Smiles on it!❤😊
Thank you so much!
Good morning Calvin and Marie. I think the haters just have to much time on there hands. That is no excuse for it!
Good morning June. Thanks very much
Bless you. Love you all! I’m excited to see your flowers that you put around the tree. 😍
Thanks very much. We are excited about that also.
We always have 3 months cangoods on hand you never know when you will need them you all rock keep up the good work
Thanks very much Barbara
If possible you might want to try to have 1 years worth of food stocked up depending on expiration date.
Thanks very much Karen. We try to ignore them and delete the rude comments.
We appreciate you watching and your wonderful comments.
Y’all are the best!! And common sense is priceless. Thank goodness you have some!🥰
Thanks very much
It’s so easy to judge others. We should be looking at ourselves. Those pictures are so precious. Those girls are beautiful.. you all seem so very happy together.
Yes we are. Thanks very much Sue
Thanks very much Cheryl
In this day and time you need to be prepared! My husband and I try to “be prepared”. During Covid that situation showed that you need to have food, and paper products on hand! And we do! Our kids make fun of us because of my many many packages of toilet paper and paper towels!
Thanks very much Roxanna. Yes we all need to be prepared.
I have two grown daughters they have never made fun of my Pantry or wall of paper products. They sometimes shop my basement
I absolutely love yall videos. It's a blessing and helpful to me with the content yall share. Living your life the best you can is all you can do. The negative Nancy's need to leave yall alone. Yall are doing great and thank yall for doing the devotions. Absolutely love it.
Thanks so much Lisa
Thanks very much Monica. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comment.
Sounds great! I'm glad that you enjoyed this meal.
that sounds yummy also!
I really love your channel. As a former Roman now living in alabama, I see you 2 as family.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love both of you God is good
Thanks very much
Hi! I am a 50 year old woman and I love your cooking. I have even made a few of your recipes. Slot of them are economical. That is fine for me and my family. God Bless you and all your family.
Wonderful! Thanks very much
Happy Sunday Calvin and Marie! There's more important things to worry about than can vegetables goodness. Enjoy your day!
So true! Thanks very much
Good morning!!
Thanks very much Kristi and Charlie
Y’all are so awesome! I love and appreciate you both and love your recipes. I really enjoy when y’all pick up some biscuits and go to the lake to eat in the car and enjoy the water and nature. I love the recipes and the family time you share with us. I am so sorry for the hateful people who make mean comments about you. Anyone who would do that is just unhappy-I’m very sad that they don’t have the joy of the Lord in them.
Thanks very much Valerie. Yes, we love our trips to the lake to enjoy a biscuit.
Thanks very much, we appreciate you watching our videos and your wonderful comments. Sounds like you are preparing similar to how we are.
Dear Marie, I understand what you were saying and you needn’t fret about it one bit!! You and Calvin are a great and wise couple. I love seeing all your videos and enjoy making your recipes. Have a happy and blessed week!! -Julie❤️❤️
Thank you so much Julie.
We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Hello Calvin and Marie
Just love the pictures of you with the great grand babies. Marie your top is beautiful on you. The devotional was right on. It is hard to believe how critical people are. I think you are both a blessing to me. We eat the best we can for what is available and what we can afford. Love your channel. You are like family to me.
Thanks very much Maurina. That is what we try to do also. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Love watching you two and all your videos. Marie enjoy your cola. Love you both ❤
Thanks so much
Well it is sad that people out there only feel the need to be rude or say nasty things to others, like you said Marie and Calvin, they don't know you two!
Thanks very much Ada. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.
Have a Blessed week,
Calvin and Marie
Thanks very much. Enjoy your meal, it sounds delicious.
Enjoyed Marie’s devotion today …prepping is a great thing we don’t do it but the more we watch y’all we really should do it like Calvin said never know when something could happen and you may need the canned foods …and yes it is really hard to eat healthy we know but we try but we are like y’all want to enjoy some foods we can splurge sometimes God Bless y’all
Thanks very much
Love to you both! 🧁🍦🎂🍰🍧
Lol, thanks very much. Yes, I love to have my desserts first. We appreciate you watching our channel and your wonderful comments.

Thank you too!
You guys are great. I love the cooking shows you do. God bless you.
Thanks so much
I watched this video again and I'm laughing with Marie..bless her heart she keeps bringing up the carbs and eating healthy. You eat what you want to eat. Let the other people worry about themselves 😉
Lol, thanks very much Sandra
You both are so precious you eat and enjoy your life you don't owe anyone an explanation of what you eat or how much your not telling anyone else what to eat or not I wish I did as good as you both do it hurts me that anyone could hurt youns I love you both God bless you you have never made me feel bad only feel blessed ❤️your friend in Christ Shelby
Thanks very much Shelby. We appreciate your wonderful comments.

Keep me in your prayers I’ve got to have an appointment tomorrow about my cataract surgery tomorrow’s test will take 2 hours. I so dread it because they are the eyes God blessed me with. Your bold looking great blessings from the Most High t on you both ❤️🙏✝️
Yes, Norma we will be praying for you.
My friend had his first eye cataract surgery this week and he said it didn't take very long and he is pleased with the result! I have been putting mine off and go back to the Dr. in June. I'm 74 and know how much these things scare us. I'll be praying for you!
I had cataract surgery on both eyes back in May of last year at the age of 69 it was a simple procedure and didn't take long glad I had that done
I can't imagine how anyone could comment rudely towards you. Y'all just keep doing what you're doing. I so like the recipes you make. Glad to see you guys prepared. Taking care of yourselves. Thanks for the videos....
Thank you so much Amy
God Bless you both, keep doing Gods work and be happy! Lord Hug you both tight
Thanks very much Bonnie
I have been watching you both. And my daughter is 34 now. But you both remind me of how my mum and dad came to see our daughter and stopped at the dollar store and always had something for her. Actually they were like my daughter’s best friends. They would play with her. We have so many good memories with my daughter mum and dad. Keep it up
Thanks very much
Prep on! For anyone with parents and/or grandparents who survived the depression, being prepared and living frugally is a way of life. Let’s just say, our fam didn’t have a toilet paper shortage during Covid. 😉😁
Lol, we didn't either. In fact we were giving it to a few people that wasn't prepared.
Thanks very much
