Fishing license is $1.500.00 and the fish is heavily contaminated and can’t be eaten without getting sick..

If y’all ever come back down to Austin and want to catch carp, Mayfield Park has a trail down to the water and there are a small amount of fishing access points, but there are probably groups of 50+ carp just up shallow and you can catch them easy with some corn or bread.

I lived in Austin when ladybird was called town lake. I used to fish it hard from shore. Here's my list. 10.2 largemouth. 5.7 spotted bass. 2.4 Guadalupe bass. 42 lb. Striped bass.

@mystic punk I fished all over. Back then the dam at the upper end wasn't blocked . I would wade out and fish below the dam . The big largemouth was caught at the south end there's a slew with a warm water discharge right near Longhorn dam. I also fished below Longhorn dam . Awesome fishery back then I remember one year the Colorado flooded real bad. Thousands of bass moved up into Barton creek.
They killed the hydrilla at lake pflugerville when it was shut down due to covid and fishing has been tough since reopening.

Ladybird used to be good. It wasn’t uncommon to catch 25+ fish a trip. Then the word got out and it is now extremely pressured. You can still catch some nice fish there but it isn’t as easy as it used to be.
