Julie Anne - Just warned to say that you have a phenomenal way of teaching/leading knowledge through to the student/viewer. I attended some kind of workshop you made in the early millennium in Sweden , and from that point on I always know that content coming from you is on point, no nonsense, straight and easy to understand. You really make a difference Julieanne - Thanks so much! /Niclas Sweden
Nice tutorial Julieanne. Hasn’t the ability to define a depth map for lens blur been around for years? I can remember getting all doe eyed over clicking on a grey value in an alpha to define the focus point in the early 2000’s. I’m missing what is new. Is it just because it has been made easier via the newer dialogues?🤷🏻♂️
Update for future people wondering why this doesn't work for them: you have to set your gradient tool to Classic Gradient. Ever since Photoshop 2023 the gradient tool can't be applied to alpha channels, the gradient's being applied to your RGB channels which is screwing everything up
I watched adobe tips and tricks and you're funny i mean really funny i watch a lot of comedy.two pionts.one consider writing comedy and why you're not active here coz you are so talented as well and the way you teach it not boring and so much informative i guess thats the word maybe but anyway you get the point (being that funny require high iq i guess ) i wish i was high to write more 😂
im sorry to say but this video is very hard to follow. there are many steps missing. I have played this over and over and still not getting the results as it doesn't give and show step by step and many steps missing
You're the best, Julieanne. And I mean that, the best I've seen of RUclips Photoshop instructors. Thanks for a very useful lesson!

When I try drawing my gradient into the alpha channel, it just gets drawn as a new layer instead. Help!
solved by changing gradient to 'classic gradient'
