I can’t speak of the Nissan but I’ve rented Isuzu, Triton and Toyota 4 door trucks over the last 2 decades traveling around Thailand. I have no doubt the Toyotas are the best.
Be wary of the Ford truck with 2.0 litre wet belt diesel engine.
My mate informed me that several of their Ford trucks in their fleet running the 2.0 litre wet belt diesel engine have damaged their engines due to the wet belt breaking. In UK Ford has shortened service intervals as a result.
You are right the wet belt is giving big problems because of the oil degrading the belt ..
For quality, after sales service, reliability, number of dealerships across the country, resale value TOYOTA wins hands down.
Compared to the US truck market, those prices are outstanding!
In the US truck market, these prices are non-existent. A $17k truck would sell out as fast as you can say "Sold!"
Yea, you can’t get a Ranger for under 30k / 1000000 baht. Even the smaller Maverick pickup is 25k base price.
Well, but not the same quality as in US or Canada.
@@familytabrizi76 they offer the diesel Toyota hilux without all the US emmisions crap so it’s much better in my book.
@@Crazyreseller
Have you seen them in Thailand? I have.
Not the same quality.
Great information..🙏🙏🙏
Hey Lucas , yet another great information session appreciated many thanks Chris
My pleasure!
Mazda (same as Isuzu) was running incredible Deals.
Good to see you out and about Lucas. Take care friend
Thanks 👍
Toyota is hands down the best long term value for the money
@@timjudshore6907 Fords ride nice
A safe bet 👍
Nicely done,,thanks for sharing,,😊
Thanks thats ANOTHER one of your videos I’ve enjoyed and learnt something from, Hi from Bkk👍
The base model of the ranger in the US starts at $33,000. $17k is a steal
👍👍👍
Thank you very much for sharing great video
+1 😊
Our Pleasure 👍🙏
Great info, much appreciated. I wondered…I figured thee had to be a caveat somewhere with the ford pricing lol. 😂
There's always a catch, but it's all part of the fun!
Thanks for the video. The cost here in Thailand for trucks is still such a discount compared to America. Hopefully will continue that bargain in the future. 😂
Thanks, excellent research. An eye opener for sure. Moral of the story, There are no deals.
The base model Ford Ranger sells for $33,000 here in the US. It's so much cheaper over there.
Hope your feeling better..thanks for the video sir.
Thanks 🙏
Finance is what they want you to take no matter where you live in the world, cash isn’t king when it comes to buying a car from a dealer.
Don't get me started about rust-proofing!lol!
@ What’s rustproofing got to do with car finance.
Maybe just finance it to get the discount, and then pay the balance in full after a few months.
They will charge a large penalty id payed early. The house always wins, lol@Blue_Dawg
@@jamie1944 Seriously? Dealerships get 75% of the cost of rustproofing!?!
Nice movie, good informatie, thanks a lot. Have fun whit the New truck 😮😮
1:18 Do a video on the Toyota Stout. -We cannot get that in the US and there is a huge interest.
I live in the Tropics and all the vehicles shown are available in my market, albeit at about 3.5x the price. (shipping and customs duties are a thing here!!)
Hands down, the 'best' truck to buy/own is the Isuzu and Toyota...the others, can't hold a candle and especially so with durability with reliability.
Enjoyed the vid!!
I started watching your vid, noticed your wonderful shirt, got inspired to eat a pizza😅🎉
Hi Lou, I enjoyed this episode today.
Shocked Isuzu is considered a top tier brand anywhere when it was laughed out of the US in 2009. I used to own an Isuzu indirectly (Honda Passport) and it was such a crappy car. The engine was so crude, noisy and barely got 17mpg. The transmission shifted roughly and every little thing broke on it. But I must admit it was super reliable... reached 250,000 miles without a major problem when it was sold.
your usual shadey stuff dalerships do im not surprised
The Go-Go sounds pretty good to me 😂 Test drive them all is the best advice I have. Cars. Get your mind out of the gutter
Ive subscribed just off the back of your auotmotive vlogs, theyre great !
Awesome, thank you!
Enjoy the automotive vlogs much more so then the foodie subjects, take care
What about the byd Shark. Is that available in Thailand?
That was very interesting. Really good prices on these "mid-sized" trucks compared to the stealership prices here in America. A Toyota Tacoma ranges from the low $30ks to high $40ks and beyond depending on "market adjustments" and options.
Why do you think they can offer them so cheap, we're supplementing their savings...
@@missulu Ok sure
Thank you
Very informative
Foreigners need a way to figure out how to buy cars here. Is your videos are great help
I like Lana's poker face
Schönes Video Lukas 👍Gruß Achim
Danke Achim 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
I just bought a car in Thailand yesterday. I couldn't finance, they wanted me to pay cash. I looked at three different dealerships and received the best discount and the car I was looking for. Also they took the car to two government vehicle inspection places before they would clear the car.
Hi Lucas very informative thankyou. Is it to soon to ask for another review of used extended cab pick ups from dealers and what to watch out for in your vast experience many thanks nigel
in australia the hilux is from $60 thou up aud
Great video.
Thanks!
Would.
Have been interesting to see the prices of other units on the ford lot
For Izusu and Toyota are best second hand price .
.....ex. You buy them each 700,000 baht
.....you has been used it 5 year.
.....you may sell it at 400,000 baht
.....but another you may sell it at 300,000 -350,000 baht
....I think
.....Most Thai people feel that buying a car is one way of investment.
.....Mostly concern about second hand price pick up truck.
That used to be the case. They are basically selling at half MSRP after only 2 years at the auctions now.
Can’t go wrong with Toyota or at least I’ve had great success with them. Hey Lucas do you have a good car service from Pattaya to Bangkok airport?
You can’t go wrong with a FORD.😊
At those prices, I'd rather go with a Toyota Hilux Champ and just get any additional accessories I prefer added on. I would get a 2" lift kit, leaf spring adjustment (to reduce rigidity), new rims, and 30" tires and it'd still be cheap at about $16k.
I will go for Toyota
Really enjoyed! $21.6k for a Toyota pickup I would take for sure. Are all of these trucks manufactured in Thailand? Toyota HiLux “Champ”????? What’s is that exactly? Just a more rugged body? Never seen before.
Yes, I believe so
There is always a catch 22 in any motoring deal, and this shows how big a profit is in the sale if no lease is used. I thought they used to be no discounts on car sales in Thailand just add-ons for free to catch a sale.
Yes, the discount offers have really ramped up.
Intresting 😀
Toyota. Nissan is on the ropes, maybe already in agreement to be purchased.
Honda is buying Nissan sometime in February. Management is figuring it out.
Let’s just say if the ranger is the expat pick there’s a reason… I’d only go 4 door so much easier to live with…. Let’s just say getting a 6 cylinder and MT would also be my pick. But each to their own 😂 if you going 4 cylinder go the Toyota and they are great in AT.
Each of those vehicles would cost 3-4x as much in the states. Don't buy anything with a turbo! Thanks for the video, I hope you stick with the vehicle you have!
Great content and I I wish in could buy that Ford
Hi lucas, i just heard TQ closed is that true ? I been going there 40 years if its closed thats a major bummer
Hi, have looked at KGM (Ssangyong) . A lot cheaper in the UK.
For the model of lock up truck.
So should be a better deal where you are.
All the best.
Did you get one after all?
1:18 Thanks for showing the Hilux Champ! It looks like a little FJ Cruiser pickup. 🛻 The Ranger would have been a steal at 599000 baht cash out the door. The Mitsubishi at 500000 seems like a great buy too, especially with an automatic transmission.
The Mazda BT-50 has been a restyled Isuzu Dmax since 2020, might be able to find a better deal on the Mazda than an Isuzu.
MG extender/ Maxus T70 could be a good buy as well. It’s sold all over the world. In Mexico it’s called the Chevrolet s10 Max. Made by SAIC, I read they have a joint venture with GM.
Interesting about MG, the inventory here is very challenged at the moment.
Champ is for 5 footers unfortunately
Bought Ford Ranger and the latest Ford Everest, always found thet Ford RMA Hua Mak Ladprao are honest and best service. We discovered on another ford dealer they tried to rip us off during services.
Go for the Ford Raptor
You looking for another truck lucas wat about your other truck??
7 out of 10 car loans / financing deals denied... that says a lot!!!
We were just shopping there, they won't do less than 25% down
"The Devil's in the Detail" hey Lou ? 👍
I bought a 2018 nissan navara 300 np 4 door pick up in orange fully kitted out bull bars spots etc low mileage 46k all for 345k wouldn't by a new car no point plenty good used cars for sake, you lose to much money with new, but that's my view, good video !!
can you go check out some chinese evs? i went to MG the other day and the MG4 at 700k sticker got them down to 600k.
2.2 litre vehicles aren't my thing. I swear by Mitsbishi unless it becomes a lifestyle choice! Shopping there seems to be enjoyable!
750,000 baht to the.dollars $22,300. Very low compared to the current US prices. But I assume with import and emissions restrictions it would not be possible to import
you didnt say what mitsubishi valuued your truck ?
They never told me 😂
Went shopping for double cab hi riders trucks. Isuzu build quality was not up to par with Toyota, or Ford. I want a Toyota Revo Rocco, my wife has her mind set on the Ranger Stormtrak, so you know which one we're picking. Its more expensive, but they have a .99 percent for 4 years, which ends up only being a little over $1k in finance charge. The Nissans had 0 percent for 6 years! You know they're hurting.
Nice, enjoy. 👍
I was able to get 2.6% financing on a brand new Toyota Hilux rocko. that was with 40% down. I couldn't get any lower on a 4x4 but 0.9 was available for pre-runner 2x4. I think the Isuzu was 0.9% but I can't remember for sure. the price of financing is almost as important especially if you're going to stretch it out for more than 48 payments.
comparing a Toyota to the rest is is hilarious lol
Hi Lucas, i am long time subscriber, just one question, can a buy left hand drive in Thailand. Thank you.
There might be some imported LHD car somewhere in the used market but all new will by RHD
Crafty car sales people will always hide a few units amongst the fleet in the back lot!
Glad to see you out and about , The make money on the vehicle ? And they make it on the Finance ,
Yes, car companies make more on the finance than on the product.
@@Rides4Kickzmore on servicing in the long run so the warranty is valid
Did you look at the MG pickups?, not sure what they are like
My dealer here does not have any, the one in Pattaya has some but apparently they are all Manual trans. I may still try and look at a comparable MG but in my communication with them, the ads for the low prices are also for customers who finance their purchase.
You have worked in Thailand since your channel started.. they should be happy to finance you!
You wouldn't get finance in the UK until you have worked up a satisfactory earnings level with records.
Many RUclipsrs in Thailand boast of the six figure incomes they earn. Is this not sufficient?
@@MisoHornKnee You don't understand it not how much you earn it's the legality of those earnings in Thailand with their no working for foreigners law that prohibits the giving of loans without an earnings record.
In the USA. Over ฿1 Million baht!!!
honda bought or aquireed nissan here in the states
Interesting, to see some consolidation in the market 👍
Izusu is honda. At least it used to be.
I would say there is a lack of credit worthy borrowers not that finance has dried up. Unfortunately the ICE manufacturers cannot compete with cheap Chinese EV’s and other Chinese cars sold in Thailand.
F.O.R.D. FIX OR REPAIR DAILY :) toyota the way :)
What was the truck on the right at 1:19 black with the rear drop side cargo bed
That's the Toyota Hilux Champ...the hottest selling work truck in Thailand at about $15k new.
Search "Toyota Stout"
Gone are the days of cash is king.
I have a mate in the UK who worked in the motorcycle industry and said to me that he wouldn't want to sell a bike without finance.
Not interested in cash.
Great video.....cheap misubishu truck
I brought a Toyota fortuner in Bangkok new for cash 70000 baht discount 1 year free insurance window tinted plus 30000baht extras
With Nissan on the verge of going bankrupt, I would be staying away from them until they get their deal with Honda sorted out. One thing I find can make or break a deal is the warranty that comes with each brand. With Nissan if memory serves me right it is 3 years & with Mitsubishi it is 10 years so with that spread of coverage, it might be worth taking into consideration as well.
@@daytriker Nissan cars are garbage in the states
Yes, also forgot to mention MItsu. has a new engine which I think is one of the best in the industry right now.
Thanks Lucas! I am investigating shipping my truck into Thailand. It is a Mercedes GLE AWD Diesel SUV. Any experience with yourself or anyone you know who have gone that route? Is it worth the effort and expense?
very difficult to import used vehicles now. Even years ago it was an expensive proposition, now, its nearly impossible.
@Rides4Kickz thanks for the heads up what about driving in from Cambodia or mayanmar? I will see what their import restrictions are
Ah, the old triple asterisk switcharooski fine print scam!
How much does a Prius or Sienna e van cost?
didn't see any Prius, are they still being made?
599k is a great price compared to the UK

Where are they Built ? $$17,000 for that Ford isn't Bad. Feeling

Thanks Ray 👍
What is "Neesarn"?
Without looking, I would think at least double that here in Greece.
... it is a long transport from Thailand
@@_Alfa.Bravo_ That's a fact.
according to mechanic, the 2l motor from ford is one of the worst engine out there, it's better to pay a little more to get the 2.7 v6 turbo for longevity
won't be offered in Thailand tho...
You can get finance in Thailand show you have money in Thai bank your visa and a Thai guarantor
To Finance You must also be Thai, or have a Thai CoMaker
Nothing has changed in Thailand in 24 years. When i worked in Thailand, 24 years ago, Izuzu outsold Toyota in pickups. In Australia, the sales order for pickups is reversed No 1 Ford, No 2 Toyota, No 3 Izuzu. All these pickups are made in Thailand and imported with zero tariffs, but the prices charged here are twice the Thai prices.
maybe 30%...never double...spec level are different too tho...
I also went to Ford for the same model for 599K with automatic. They did not sell it to me for cash. That annoyed me because in the advertising it was not mentioned and as a foreigner only cash payment is accepted ! They offered me a discount of 150K instead of 210K. I did not accept!
You can get a plan in Thailand. It's down to where your money is coming from.
You'll get a worse rate for i income from abroad, and it helps a lot how big your employer is.
Loan... Not plan... Stupid autocorrect...
Yes, it would be very easy to place a note in the ads about the offer only being available for finance deals.
@14:23 "I don't have iny income here" As a 180 day tax resident, the Thai Revenue Department begs to differ....5555
Toyota or Isuzu . Steer clear of the other brands .
How much are those ranger raptors going for these days?
I think almost 2 million baht
