I'm pleasantly surprised you reacted to this, and it was an instant click and like. During the lockdown I fell down the folk metal rabbit hole and Feuershwanz, dArtgnan as Saltatio Mortis is probably my most played bands ever since. Would love to see you do more of them. Feuerschwanz also do some great covers and what they did with Manowar's Warriors Of The World United is amazing as well.
Feuerschwanz did a lot of party medieval folk metal songs in the past. Bandmembers changed since then but it's still fun listening to their new stuff. They only recently became quite popular to the English speaking audience, when they covered ManOWars "Warriors of the World" song alongside some other German medieval folk metal bands. It's pretty neat.
Song is basically depicting life of legendary wolf Fenrir of Viking sagas. One-eyed man potrayed by Hauptmann is obviously Odin, who is killed by Fenrir during Ragnarök. And final scene is actual killing of Fenrir by Odin's son Víðarr. But no animals harmed, so only bloodsplash on the snow ;-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenrir
Much Love from Germany 🇩🇪 I enjoyed your reaction a lot! Thank you very much!!! ... there is a lot of amazing & different Music you can explore in this Genre! Take care everyone 🤘🖤🤘
I've tried to get a lot of my metal friends on board with this band. Metal so much of the time can be so dark and brooding, and it's nice to have a change to something a little more lighthearted and fun when you're in the right mood. Like you said GC, this band has something for everyone, and when you get something that can bridge that gap, it's a win win in my book. I really hope Feuerschwanz does a US tour, because I want to be front row center for that romp!
Feuerschwanz (translates to Fire Tail, with the absolutelly intentional slang translation Fire Dick) was founded in 2004 as a parody band to counterpart the (sometimes overly) serious german medieval folk scene. Over the years, they parted from the straight parody, while keeping the mostly humorous or at least light-hearted attempt and added more and more rock & metal elements to their music. The original material is in German (with some Latin here and there) but in 2020 they started doing cover songs in English too. There is a live (stream) video of their cover of I See Fire (original by Ed Sheeran) which features Thomas Winkler (formerly aka Angus McFife, now aka Angus McSix) which is very nice (way calmer than Bastard von Asgard) and, also (from the same stream), Schildmaid (Shield Maiden) which features the two bagpipe players from Saltatio Mortis (the band which made the folk metal cover of EC's Hypa Hypa).
I saw Eluveitie live for the first time this past Saturday and was not disappointed. First time hearing this band and was definitely impressed. Love it. 🤘🏻
Definitely agree with how folk and power metal make metal more accessible as a genre. I wasn't super into metal and didn't like harsh vocals very much until I heard Ensiferum, who blew my mind, years ago. Lyrics too are so important. I'd heard too many metal songs that were about 'the woman who wronged me' but folk and power metal give me songs about dragons and vikings. How could I not love that?
The sun shines, this evening my favourite footballclub probably is gonna win and than I hear this song to cheer me up even more. Life's good (some times) 😂😂. Cheers 🍺

sounds legit like an anime opening song, I love it! imagine playing Initial D to that
Initial D is the GOAT 🐐

This is amazing!
Feuerschwanz (FOYerrrrshvaaantz) is just fun. It's not for people who take themselves or metal too seriously.
Love how this dog (Wofgang) couldn't even look like fighting Odin. There is a "making of" Video in two parts. Part two ist mostly in english.
Oh btw much Respect for knowing (and enjoying) Flogging Molly, don't think there are many other Metalguys out there who care for them.
Their newest stuff is kinda meh
@@galacticriminalx Yeah, unfortunatly. :/ I don't really care for everything after "Float", except for the awesome Live Album.
Come on... Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Fiddler's Green and so on... it´s basic knowledge for everyone ^^
The new Flogging stuff is sadly boring. Fiddlers Green or Paddy and the Rats are way more fun to listen.
🤘🤘🤘
its more pronunced like Foyerschwanz with a oy like in boy :)
You got what I meant shitbird 😝

@@voxdraconia4035 wait. Hulk was already here in the nordic mythology? oO
Power Metal? That's been a while on this channel.. xD
Not a fan, but hey, if you enjoy this, good for you.
Intense right? 😂🤪🤪🤪🤪
