How to write meeting minutes at work? As a management consultant, you're going to have to take meeting minutes and take notes in work meetings. Hopefully this is a quick overview of key things you need to write down, especially digital notes in any corporate job that you'll be doing.

what i find really difficult with business requirement meetings is that so many people are saying different/conflicting things about the same topic (stakeholders, subject experts, etc) and it just goes around and around. eventually, someone says "ok let's go with that" but at that point im still writing down the 5th suggestion and i end up missing what "that" is cause so many solutions were discussed thoroughly to get where we ended up. any tips on how to improve following where the decisions eventually land?
Have you thought about voice recording the meeting (with permission of course)? If not, don’t be afraid to speak up and ask to verify what suggestion was agreed on.
Record it secretly on phone
Always ask permission first.
It's easier to get the requirement if your hosting the meeting. If not, for those big corporate level meetings, they are usually recorded either way for this very reason.
In time you develop an ear for it too.

Advice for you, u can take a pause of at least 1sec. After completing a sentence.
Can u add annex or attachments to minutes of meeting? Like the documents presented and used during the meeting?

@@KajolPhadnis how does one attach it? Is there a right way? My boss wants me to use excel to make a MoM and i cannot, for the life of me, figure out how i could attach files for references in that kind of form 😭
Nice, your style is similar to mine for taking minutes.
If the minutes are going to someone pretty high up, it help to ask someone you work with who knows them. Ask what is the best way to make the minutes easy to read.

i write minutes for meetings all the time at work as i am a senior admin, but i want to improve my minute taking skills because i feel like i don't know if my minutes are good enough to a high standard? i haven't had any complaints about them, i usually capture the main important points discussed and then the actions, but i want it to sound more professional if that makes sense? do you have any tips for this please? thanks x

In this day and age I can't figure out why people don't record it??? I was recording minutes in 1987. Lol.
what do you use? mini recorder?
In some meetings this isn’t allowed for privacy, security or confidentiality reasons. Although recording is great back up, why would you sit through the whole meeting again? Regulators etc. don’t want written documents and if you have to go through past sets of minutes for any reason, it’s a lot easier to review a document than it is to sit through a recording.

Thank you for this great tip. Actually my first time watching your videos but observed that you talk a bit too fast. Maybe you could moderate your pace a little. Just a little so one can digest what you are saying as you are saying it. Rather than pause to comprehend. #MyOpinion.

You are missing the basics of communication. Dont be so fast that your viewers have to repeat the videos.
We’ve come too far with technology to be doing this. Why don’t the meeting just get recorded without showing the faces? Ppl can just state their name & position when they want to speak. Everyone gets an audio copy to do whatever they need to do & done!
