I always assumed the eyes he took was why he thought she was his long-dead princess in this scene. Later after transforming with other bodies he knows it isn't her but still is reminded of her when he sees Evey - they do look similar :)

The movie still holds up after all these years. It was just the perfect blend of action, romance, comedy and adventure.
Just so fun to watch every now and then.

I remembered this scene gave me the horror when I was young the moment the mummy came alive, the beetles popping out of the ground were scary too.
It also give me an impression that the Egypt Pyramid was full of mystery and it is better to avoid exploring it.

This movie was my childhood! I used to recite all the ancient Egyptian dialogue including the bit Evey reads! Also a side note the 4K transfer seems so dark, they added a weird golden tint too not so sure about that decision… I love this movie but looks like I will pass on the 4K for this one this colour grading looks bad.
