I get incredibly worked up ahead of doctor’s appointments, trying to convince myself I’m fine but there’s so much doubt. I’m vegan, take supplements, live a fairly healthy lifestyle but any abnormality freaks me out. Oh my gosh I relate so hard about the health anxiety. It’s a constant thought in the back of your mind. It’s a vicious cycle. The waiting is always the worst part. Thank you for being so real.
Please think about constant checking your body, with fitbit, oura ring, or whatever, when you have health anxiety. It can become an obsession and make the anxiety worse. We don't need those gadgets when we tune in with our body, unless we have diabetes or a serious heart condition etc. I know it can help autistic people as well with learning to feel their body more, but then the goal is to not need it anymore after a few years. This feels like giving the most expensive cleaning and disinfecting machines to a germaphobe, while we live in a world where there is dirt. Always. And there are health issues, always. But most days it's fine and the fear is much worse. Easiercsaid than done but I feel tracking our body with health anxiety is like tracking calories for people with an eating disorder... You do you, just something to think about also for others! ❤❤❤
Abby Jimenez is my fav author too. I read Just For The Summer first & BINGED ALL HER BOOKS in the last month. She actually has characters with depth & such real & raw issues, but she still finds a way to make us laugh & smile throughout the story. I love that woman.
So grateful to you for showing the lower parts of your week - it’s so relatable. Don’t know if you’ve heard but your period can increase your anxiety levels, it’s something I’ve noticed recently. Plus you tackled something really difficult this week too, so that’s bound to have drained you, don’t beat yourself up. I have a sickness phobia (honestly so hard to even write that word), so I get the anxious thoughts that you just can’t seem to get rid of. Be kind and gentle with yourself. I’m proud of you for doing hard things ❤

I also have major health anxiety these days. My husband had a severe reaction to the covid vaccine (needed heart surgery afterwards), and now I'm terrified of anything medical. I did manage a 5th c section, but it was a different experience (mentally) than the previous 4 that happened before his surgery. So happy everything is fine with you!
I’ve had my oura ring for about 2 months now. So far I love being able to track my sleep, heart rate and recovery index. I also appreciate the temperature sensor since you can track your cycle with that.

Girl what your saying about health anxiety I feel to the core! I have struggled with this for YEARS and always find something on my body to give myself healthy anxiety about. I struggled with really bad periods pains for years and when I got off the pill it got worse. I was so terrified to go get it checked out because I was so convinced I was literally gonna die. I ended up so bad that i ended up in hospital and found out I have endometriosis. Every time I think about me having this disease i get chest pains and feel nauseous 😅😅 so what your feeling is very normal and a lot of people feel like this! Your not alone ❤️
I had the aoura for a month and really didn't think it was worth the money:( its so pretty but scratches really easily.. The sleep stats really didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, I was excited for predicted bedtime/ wake up time but I honestly just feel like it was suggesting the time I just typically go to bed/ wake up. as for the actual sleep stats they also seemed.... vague. When I woke up with a 60 sleep score I was WELL aware. it wasn't new news. :( Thanks for sharing another amazing vid and inspiring me to spend this rainy day in NY cleaning my space. Filming the hard part must have been scary and I can’t thank you enough for sharing. I hope what I’m about to share brings you comfort: It was 5yrs ago today that a routine women’s exam showed signs of cervical cancer. With my anxiety and depression and being a mom to a 4yr old boy… I took a downward spiral. My fiancé stood by me and made sure I went to every doctor’s appointment even though I was terrified every moment. He had to keep reminding me that I should be grateful that medicine today was able to catch it early on. I have now been cancer free for 4 years. I’m so grateful I was able to catch it early on and learn at a young age things I can do to stay cancer free so that I can watch my little boy grow up. I hope you can find comfort in knowing the information you get from your exams can be terrifying but in my opinion, it’s far better to know as soon as possible then wait til it’s too late. To any other ladies reading the comment section: please book in your exams. There’s power in knowing

One of the biggest things that has helped me with my health anxiety (and just anxiety about life in general) is just ✨trusting✨ the process, trusting the universe/god/whatever it is you believe in! You’re on YOUR path, yeah some shitty things can happen of course but you wouldn’t be dealt those cards if you couldn’t handle it 💕 There’s a lesson in everything and trusting that whatever happens the universe has got your back has just saved me from worrying! Now I just try to worry about things when they happen 🤪 not before they happen too! sending so much love!!
I deal with health anxiety from my parent passing away when I was young. Im not diagnosed but I think the intrusive thoughts are linked to OCD, and what I experience sounds super similar to you! Maybe something to consider talking about with your therapist? sending love, its brutal. x
I have the Oura ring and I do and at the same time don't recommend it. I use it together with Natural Cycles for contraception and for that reason I can't miss it anymore, but tbh it's not that useful for other things like sleep etc. I've had it since a year now and it doesn't tell me when I'm getting sick like I've read online, and it still sometimes thinks I'm sleeping when I know for sure I was awake.. I feel it could be way more accurate for the price.
Since you struggle with sleep so much, you should look into circadian signalling! Sunrise and UVA light signals are super important, as well as blocking all blue light as soon as the sun sets. Being serious about this changed my life for a lot of reasons, one being my sleep quality is so great even with a baby
It sucks you had a bad week, but thanks for showing it. I've spent the past, almost, 2 weeks in a state of high distress. Just papering over the cracks for work, then after work just tears, stress, overthinking cycle. Psych appt in the next couple of days though, so hope is always to be found, somewhere. The ring isn't good at tracking your period, apparently. Taylor Wynn returned hers I think
I know you've spoken about your struggles with hormones in the past so you likely already are on top of it, but just in case I have to urge you to talk to your doctor about how long your cycle normally is. 34-36 days is significantly longer than average (mine's between 26-28 days and when I was on the pill it was 30 days). I have the Oura ring and I do and at the same time don't recommend it. I use it together with Natural Cycles for contraception and for that reason I can't miss it anymore, but tbh it's not that useful for other things like sleep etc. I've had it since a year now and it doesn't tell me when I'm getting sick like I've read online, and it still sometimes thinks I'm sleeping when I know for sure I was awake.. I feel it could be way more accurate for the price.

Since you struggle with sleep so much, you should look into circadian signalling! Sunrise and UVA light signals are super important, as well as blocking all blue light as soon as the sun sets. Being serious about this changed my life for a lot of reasons, one being my sleep quality is so great even with a baby

It sucks you had a bad week, but thanks for showing it. I've spent the past, almost, 2 weeks in a state of high distress. Just papering over the cracks for work, then after work just tears, stress, overthinking cycle. Psych appt in the next couple of days though, so hope is always to be found, somewhere.

I know you've spoken about your struggles with hormones in the past so you likely already are on top of it, but just in case I have to urge you to talk to your doctor about how long your cycle normally is. 34-36 days is significantly longer than average (mine's between 26-28 days and when I was on the pill it was 30 days).
