Thanks for the information and tips on how to surf fish and be successful. When some people that have fished there whole lives and go to the surf for the first time it is a little intimidating because we are thinking where should I start to find some fish. Also I have had some great success in Savanah Georgia on the far end of the beach where I think a river empties in to the ocean and creates a deep trough that holds some nice whiting.
Would love to fish with you. Want to get more into surf fishing. I would like to know how to read a beach, why you use conventional tackle and even level winds, the rods you use, the various bait options. What are the seasons for the different beach fish in Jax. Etc. don’t need your secret spots or anything just want to learn. I’ll find my own fish once I know what to look for. How much do you charge?
huh... I've been using shrimp. Guess that's wrong. Where did you get the fleas and the clams ? And what size hook have you been using. "cause when I go out, I can't catch anything. even when others are getting whiting. I don't have those red/pink thingies on my lines either. Someone told me that scares them away. Man.... this is just making me frustrated.
Clams usually come from a sea food shop. I don’t make them but I do have them available. Also have some new ones coming out that have a smaller profile but hold the same!
Josh Flamm Realtor when the water temp reaches 68 and outside temps better than 75 degree. Sun needs to warm the sand to get them out of the deep sand!
It is a very good table fare! Easy to catch for some and it starts off a fisherman with success so they stay in the game. Sometimes people need to have little victories along the way before they start To target the species they enjoy to eat.

Did you get the clams at Genungs too?
Yes they do have them but you can find them at the local seafood markets
The Sinker Guy I'd probably eat them before I get them on the hook. Lol
Where do you get your clams bait shop? Did you make those sand spikes?
Clams usually come from a sea food shop.
I don’t make them but I do have them available. Also have some new ones coming out that have a smaller profile but hold the same!
Thank you for answering my question, I like to take a look at the sand spike when you have them available with no commitment.
Where did you get your rod holders?
Noel Kuhn a local surf fisherman her in the area! Look him up on Facebook!
The Sinker Guy - Do you like them. They look pretty good.
CH5092 yes they hold very good!
How do you hook sand fleas
Uncleellroy flip the sand fleas upside down pull the flap over to expose the eggs and push you hook through its shell very gently.
what time of day and was the tide coming in or out ?
1 hour before low and 1 hour after low. Bite was on before and after we left.
Where did you get the sandfleas? Went to Hana yesterday and caught 7 in the surf, but no fleas or fresh clams, just shrimp and fish bites
Great catch! I picked them up at genungs fish camp down south at crescent beach!
@@thesinkerguy Oh ok..figured you'd have to be south this time of year to find them...when do you reckon they will show up on the First Coast?
