Your channel is the only one with thorough guides on this game that aren't just full gameplay sessions unedited, or to edited to be useful. Only thing that would be nice is voice over mentioning landmarks during time lapses.
Wow, this tale was amazing. Hiking up that broken road in sundered pass was so dam cool, I wont forget it. The entire open valley on the top of the mountain was so awesome, it really felt like a vast mountain site, I really liked the timberwolves aswell. I only wish the weather station was higher up.
@@leopardtrixgaming I've always preferred timberwolves to regular wolves as I feel they act more natural, hunting in packs and staying outside of your door for hours. If I could, I would spawn a pack of timberwolves in every region hahaha.
I can't stand that part of the region. There's too many Timberwolves that they feel more like cockroaches than challenging obstacles to get to the objective.

Brilliant guide thank you. So well made and explained. Im currently making my way back up to the weather station as i died outside it because i had cabin fever and thought I'd get away sleeping for a few hours in the daytime just after a blizzard 😂 Live and learn for sure.

Another great video. Nicely done. Cold is definitely brutal at the summit. That's one of the nice things of this map, altitude does make it more cold. Only have to get back to Omega bunker and the tales will be completed.
I encountered 14 timberwolves, 2 regular wolves and a bear using route three. If you want to go that way you ahould make sure to have plenty if ammo, flares and meds if you really want to go that way. What a nightmare lol. Also, great guide, helped me immensely!
Thanks for this vid! Unfortunately my game is glitched I don't get a prompt to clear the snow at the stairs in the polaroid. I have a ticket in and am waiting for a response.
Cabin fever still affects me, no matter what I try. I play a custom game, and even turning cabin fever OFF makes no difference. Nor does that badge. Also, I'm supposed to find the location of Rudiger's last Polaroid. Any ideas where it is? Do I really need to do this?
Not sure what is going on with the cabin fever, it should be off if youve turned it off. In my custom game so far I havent had cabin fever and I have it turned off. Are you referring to the polaroid in the basement? I think that is the last one - at 09:56 shows the basement where you get the last polaroid.
@@leopardtrixgaming Ok, I now see that what I thought was cabin fever isn't. When I sprint, there's a circle on the lower right that shows how fast I'm running out of energy, but there's a portion of that circle in red. The more time I spend indoors, the larger that red portion gets, and it robs me of a large bit of sprinting. As for the polaroid, yes- that's the one. The script said I should locate where that picture was taken, but I haven't a clue where that is. Anyway, I went back in the bunker and picked up the tactical jacket and Rudiger's watch, and that's when the game said I'd completed it.
@weylandyutani7973 the red part on the stamina circle depends on your gear (sprint penalty) & tiredness and weight. If you follow the steps in the guide I show every step but if youve completed it then all good :)
Where was that waterfall ice looking thing inside the cave located at? I think it was when you were talking about the wolf in the cave, but I'd love to know cause that looked amazing.

I'm stuck in Step 6. No matter what I do the prompt is not showing to dig the snow. I tried every distance. I'm starting to hate this game because if it's bugs.
@@johnmichaelarellano9162 Sorry to hear that, youre def not the only one experiencing the bug though. I often suggest leaving and re entering the region but not 100% sure if it works for this bug.
I'm hoping that they create a way to wake up when auroras occur. For example, a third mode on the handheld transmitter that acts like an alarm clock or something like that. I just reached the weather station at low health and decided to sleep the full 10 hours, and of course there was an aurora. Having to wait for another aurora when low on food can be annoying.
@@leopardtrixgaming Thankfully, I got lucky and shimmer fog rolled in 2 days later. I also found the MRE by the broken bridge to hold me over. When I was looking for the bunker in Pleasant Valley I had to wait over a week in game to finally get in there. That was annoying.

Alright i'm there, i have the shortwave, it's aurora, tale 1 and 2 and done, forsaken airfield transmitter is fixed... There is a task says "Find remains of Rüdiger 0/2" (or sth similar i translated). Why don't i get the signal? I get orange ones... blue- nothing... i tried different saves... no signal... does anyone else have this problem? what am i doing wrong??
@@aviaasu have you been able to uncover the first clue/objective at the weather station? Or is that where it is stuck? Seems strange if you have completed the other tales etc.
joo I found a new way down the weather station. you have to use the old bridge and the wooden support pillars I have an xbox clip of me doing it ... wanna see ?

Incredibley detailed. Well laid out. The ladies voice is soothing, yet makes me freak out like "OMG IT'S AI, IT'S A LADY TERMINATOR!" But that just could be because ive been smoking weed and doing cocaine all day.
This story sucked. I just finished playing through it yesterday and... I'm not really sure what the point was. It didn't feel like it really had anything to do with what is going on in The Long Dark - the 'calamity' or the collapse of the island's population. Instead, it was just a detached, very generic bit of sci-fi silliness featuring characters we don't ever meet or really know. I kept waiting for some kind of tie-in with the auroras somehow, but it never came. I think the most damning part of the whole thing was that I couldn't figure out why my survivor would care enough to follow the breadcrumbs. Like... don't we have bigger concerns with trying to survive? Why would we bother going into the Langston Mine at all? Why wouldn't we just see the chemical clouds and nope right on out of there? The whole point of the sandbox is to live as long as possible - not solve some kind of weak mystery involving complete strangers (and a government and company that has in all likelihood collapsed).
I can completely understand your perspective. I am sure there are others that feel that way, the DLC content may not be to everyone's liking indeed. I know Hinterland carried out a survey before starting with the DLC content to understand what players wanted in the game and I guess a lot of people wanted more purpose in survival mode. There is a great channel that goes into the lore of The Long Dark, might give some more insight into the story. You may know it already - ToastyBits. As to why we would follow the breadcrumbs? Well, might get boring out there if you master survival and have a stable situation, being alone as well, eventually curiosity and discovering stuff might just be the thing that keeps ur mind going. Just my 2 cents really… I do get ur point of staying away from chemical clouds 😁
@@leopardtrixgaming Yeah, and I wasn't in any way aiming this criticism at you and your videos - they helped me a lot. I'm just saying: my survivor is in a very difficult situation. So they idea of her making it *more* difficult for herself just to unlock a few bunkers just seems... weird. In particular, I think climbing Great Bear Island's equivalent of Mount Everest is just an odd call. At that juncture in the story, it's more falling action ("Let's find the bad guy's corpse!") than a driving need. And we decide to risk our own life - fighting past an insane number of timberwolf encounters, blizzards, etc. - just just climb a mountain and find two journals? I love the game - I will always love the game. And I don't mind the inclusion of story elements in survival. I just wanted them to be more tied into... *surviving.* If my character is going to be focused on something, you'd think it would be procuring, like, a boat. One would think that the mechanics of a sailboat wouldn't be in any way affected by the auroras. Sailing south, to somewhere where the climate isn't so badly affected, would seem to be top priority. So it would be nice if any attached story was focused on self-evacuation rather than a sort of weird, improbable mystery (that concluded without our intervention).

Unless I missed something in understanding the story. I get what you mean about the story being more tied to your actual survival, though the idea of finding a way to evacuate might take a way a bit the point of surviving as long a possible. Maybe the next story line chapter will reveal more info on the purpose of everything.

I think that would be an interesting mechanic to add in. That is a lil frustrating to wait with low food, maybe some ptarmigan nearby?
