Amazing Gig well up There 🎉❤❤ was a favourite of mine on Audio cassette back in 80s 🎸🎩🎸🎩
1981 is my favourite year for Bob Dylan as a touring artist. This wonderful concert tells why !
I saw him 2 nights in Milwaukee WI in 1981. Second row up front both nights. Great shows. Greatest Hits plus some gospel songs. I've seen him a dozen times since, and he's always changing. He doesn't look back.

Thank you for the upload! Amazing concert. Dylan is present, Jim Keltner kills it. Great setlist.
Dylan's every note was so high quality and the chorus was unbelievable,I 'd never heard so wonderful collaboration
Best concert of 1981. Marvellous and mesmerising
The best concert of 81 in my opinion is from Avignon.
@eckhardwunder7940 I agree Drammen also tops this one . I would also put Earls court May 28th 29th and 30th over this one as well. The UK 81 and Europe 81 shows were better in general than the North American shows. That said the North Amercan shows are also fantastic in their own right.
I think Houston is the best from The North American tour with New Orleans being my Second choice .
Luckily the 1981 tour was thoroughly recorded by Dylans crew . Between professional mulittack recodings and 2 track reel to reel soundboard recordings the whole tour was basically recorded
The UK/Europe tour was recorded in full by Dylans crew with the Exception of June 30th . Why that 1 single show didn't get recorded who knows .
Because of the thorough recording of the 81 shows many great soundboard recordings have leaked out over the years like Drammen Avignon Earls court May 28th and 29th along with Houston and New Orleans. Very fortunate to have Soundboard tapes for the best shows of the year.
Dylans vocals during the June and July are more energetic forceful and has more range.. He sounds great here but by this point he is 50+ shows into the tour so his voice is of course a bit tired so he can't be as forceful
This is fantastic! I just found this, and my weekend is saved! Thank you!!!
This is music
Constantly amazing of all song, these composition are so superb that could not discribe
forty years after! For ever young! super sound!
Simple twist of fate. What an intense Interpretation of his own song. He is so much into it.
Thoroughly enjoyed esp this softer version of It Ain't Me Babe that built to frantic frenzy.
I am surprised there is no pro video of this show in circulation as its at the Houston Summit. From the mid 70s onwards most big names have video from the Summit in circulation on bootleg that was filmed by the Summits in house video camera crew for the big screens and the Summits closed circuit TV system . Although bands had to give their Permission for the Summit to tape them so perhaps Dylan opted out of using the video screens so no video taping was done.
Zeppelin is one band that didn't use the video screens at the summit and thus were not video taped.
Very nice indeed. Thanks SP21! And additional Nissi-notes here as well!
Thank you for uploading this show! It sounds Awesome!
How wonderful SuperPenn21!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
What a wonderful set list some
I have not found too often in
other concerts such as:
Gamblin Man (never heard this before) 😮
I am very happy for Watered Down Love
which is one of my very favourites and
even with some lyric change. I would love
to have a single of this!
Shot of Love is out of the park!
Also I need to mention that this is such
a fabulous version of Hard Rain! Wow!
I could go on and on how all the songs
performed here are just extra special!
Extra:
*Bob talks quite a bit here's what he says in between
The Times They A-Changin' & A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall:"*
"All right, thank you. The times they are a-changin' still.
Not changing fast enough though for some somebody?
[shouts from the audience] Huh? Boy that's true, that's
true, ain't it. I sure do. Everybody does, I guess so.
Yeah, sure do. Even you."
