      Make a load of pots to trim then you’ll have plenty of practicing !

      Me too! I haven't learned it yet either and I waste a lot of time mucking about. Do you know a good video that shows it in detail?

      @@chickenpea111 I’ll do an upcoming video to show you how I do it in more detail.

    No sponge on the lip ever, got it! Thank you, Simon.

      Yes right , sponges will bring the grog to the surface and give a rough lip, leather is best ..chamois.

    It's healing me just watching you do it! Today has been one of those days. Sometimes the best medicine is clay applied topically. Clay and a long ride on the scooter...

      It’s applied with a paddle when I throw it in the wet state.

    Hey Simon! I love that pot you just trimmed! I love that you did a demo at Amish school...........I worked as a teachers' aide for awhile here in NJ. Hope to get out to Milheim someday............unless you get invited to NJ? Gold panning! You actually can get gold out of Home Depot sand!! Barbara from NJ shore..............

    Hello Simon,
    could you please tell me how much clay you leave at the bottom of this beautiful pot and how thin it is after trimming?
    Thank you so much! ❤

    • @sleachpots
      @sleachpots  5 месяцев назад +2

      About 5/8” approx through base before trimming. These paddled pots are paddled with a ‘pattern paddle’ and then expanded. We would aim for a wall thickness in general about 1/8” after expansion.
