3:15 so they did put more CGI people in the Riven remake? This just makes it look like they rushed the game not including all the little details in Jungle Island. Like the little girl that jumps scares you, the guy sounding an alarm etc. surely some of those are easier to do than some of these. Like when you see them just freeze the player and have it play out, then when they’re gone let them walk around again same as in the first game. How hard is that?
They did in fact keep the guy sounding the alarm, it's just not as audible as the original in my opinion. But yes, I miss the other interactions like the little girl running away. And the villager that looks thru the window when you knock 5 times, looks a little rushed in my opinion.
14:25 can someone tell me if this section is new? I don’t remember it. But it’s also been decades since I played the original Riven. I don’t recall a section where you end up in “space” where you have this walkway and machine just sort of hanging there 🤔
12:45 and why they change this flowing symbol to look so different in style the first game? It’s like they couldn’t help themselves after doing some more futuristic stuff in other games
Not having played Riven 2024 yet, I already like how things are different enough that it will be new to seasoned players, but they also tweaked some of the tricky/clever puzzles to make them easier. The wooden door access and the eyeball now visible (in the past you only caught a brief second of it before the dome opened or closed.
I dislike the CGI people. I will pass on this version.

Definitely new. The original domes had a book inside with a slider code lock.
