  • The newest addition to the OG lineup is the Robust Steel PRO. Compared to the OG Vyper Chair, it has a more basic construction framework made from all steel. Unlike the OG Vyper Chair, this has no seat height adjustment and no custom OG Hex embroidery. In other words, it's not the super fancy chair you see me rolling around in on wash and talks, but still likely an upgrade from what you're currently using and at a lower price point than the OG Vyper Chair.

    Seems like a reasonable upgrade to my upturned milk crate with a folded towel on top. I’ll add it to the wish list.

    Anything that makes it easier to detail my car without my bad back screaming STOP! is worth the money to me. I appreciate well-made things, one reason I bought a BMW electric rather than a Tesla. I could think of lots of ways to piss away $400 that wouldn't be worth it to me like tickets to a hit Broadway musical or two dinners for my wife and me at a high end restaurant. I just ordered the Vyper Low Pro which has a larger rectangular seat which can be lifted off to kneel on (not that I would kneel on my replacement knees at 85 years of age). Fifteen years ago when I had a garage built for my, at that time, forty year old house, I had the walls ceramic tiled and put in a commercial drain and a freeze-proof pump, so I could detail inside, out of the sun, and with heat, if necessary. Rolling around that glossy, five layer ceramic coated, Sunset Orange car, will be one of the few pleasures left to me at this age.

      If I added up all the Harbor Freight (and similar cheap crap made by kids in China) stools that have broken/worn out over the years that had to be fixed/replaced...I could have had one of each of these Vyper chairs. Buy once, cry once.

      @@Reaper-Jim let's just say I exceed the design capacity of most rolling stools. Also, a Craftsman from 20 years ago is much higher quality than even the best Craftsman or other big box brand made today.

      just because you choose to buy a craftsman chair from lowes for 100 VS spending $400 for thing doesn't make you poor. some things are worth spending more money on. a garage chair isn't one of em

      @@RL-ww5ev Hey im one of those poor people.. lol... You wont catch me spending for premium things for really ANYTHING lol. I make a decent living, but I have 3 kids and a wife who is stay at home. She would divorce me if I spent our extra money on the most premium car parts, tools and accessories lol

      @@JonHop1 I imagine there's a lot of very well off people who would rather put $400 towards an investment vs a stool. That mindset is probably how they became well off in the first place.
      I think these might have had a larger market 5-10 years ago when most shop stools had padding that was seemingly made of cardboard and was about a half inch thick. Today, you can get a stool for about $60 that has really robust padding, and you can upgrade the casters yourself if you feel it's necessary. I hope this business succeeds, I personally just don't see the benefit of a $400 stool other than being able to tell people I own a $400 stool

    • @JonHop1
      @JonHop1 2 года назад

      @@tier1detailing Well I guess it all depends what your livelihood is. Matt and other people that make money off car content can do so much more easily than your average person or business person. But yes, a regular person just dumping tons of cash on high-end car products who has no income from these products is probably not the smartest idea. As these stools are more a luxury and convenience than anything practical. For me, a stool is a stool. I would be fine with any decent stool as long as it is strong enough to serve its purpose, im fine with it. I dont need fine leather and master craftsmanship in a stool personally.
