    Great tutorial! I had NO idea about panoramic tripods and the fact that this seemingly unimportant detail plays a big role in the whole process.

    Great work Florian, and all credit to PTGui for selecting the best all-around (360°) tutor.

    Thanks for this tutorial, it's truly exceptional for PTGui learning. The instruction for PTGui has been quite thin across the internet for years--this series is very much appreciated.

    Thanks for all you've done to help people work in this artform. I recently bought a VR headset and find 3D stereo 360 panos to be stunning. Can you provide any information on how to create a stereo 360 pano?

    Awesome tutorial Florian. Do you have any tricks or advice in how to capture and stitch a 360 photo of a swimming pool above the water? Thank you 😊

    Getting an error message "cmdCreateTransformTHR failed: Couldn't link the profiles (13)". Mac 2022 M1 Ventura 13.4.1 PTGUI 12.22. Attempting to stitch 7 vertical images. Images load correctly and "Create panorama" gives the error message. Save and Stitch produces x.panorama.pts file in the target folder. Not sure how to proceed. Have viewed the tutorials (excellent by the way) and the FAQ. Thanks

    • @ptgui
      @ptgui  Год назад +1

      Hi David, this (cryptic) error message occurs when your images have a color profile which can only be used as a source color space, not as a target color space. You can work around the issue as follows: in the Create Panorama tab, choose 'Output color space: Adobe RGB' or ProPhotoRGB.
      But please post to the PTGui support forum if you need more help, this is the place to get technical support:

    One question: Will PTGui work with scanned B&W negatives? Of course given the case, that the camera rotates around the nodal-point. But: Is it possible, that the grain structure of the film affects the process of finding control points?

    does it distort some of the photos to get good stitching? it is that what "warp" mean?

    • @ptgui
      @ptgui  3 года назад

      Exactly! To create a seamless panorama the photos have to be warped. Simply overlaying the photos will not work.

    what to do if i can not use the no-parallax point ? I am making 3D panorama, so i can not put two camera on that point at the same time. in my setup each camera lens is about 5 cm from it (and 6 cm from eachother). but i took 15 photos per row for stitching. the result is not that bad. i think by using a larget number of photos, we can dilute the parallax problem to a degree that human eyes can not tell.

    • @ptgui
      @ptgui  3 года назад

      On one hand, using 15 photos will reduce the severity of the stitching errors, but on the other hand you will now have small stitching errors in 15 locations instead of, say, 5.
      The only way to get perfect stitching is by using a single camera on a panoramic tripod head. Shooting from different viewpoints will cause stitching errors due to parallax. The severity of the stitching errors depend on the distance of objects from the camera. For landscape scenes the errors might be unnoticeable, but indoors they will be severe.

      @@ptgui I used two 4 k action cameras to scan the surrounding into videos and extracted frames. In theory i can get 450 photos. If 15 is not enough it is possible to use 150.

    Hi! How do you change the starting view of a panoramic photo in PTgui Pro?

    • @ptgui
      @ptgui  2 года назад

      Hi Arthur,
      Most panorama viewers will start displaying the panorama in the middle of the equirectangular image. So you can just drag the panorama to the left or to the right in the Panorama Editor window until it's centered. Hold down Shift while dragging, then it will not shift vertically. The panorama will wrap around the left and right side of the panorama editor.
      Otherwise you can tell the panorama viewer where to start displaying. If you use Publish to Website in PTGui, set the initial Pan angle. Pano2vr and other viewers will have a similar setting.

      @@ptgui Good Morning!
      Hey, thanks for your fast reply. I guess I forgot to mention that I created an 360°-panorama of a car interior. When I use the PTgui pro pano editor I see a function CENTER. In the CENTER function of the editor I set the center position where I want the pano to start, at the steering wheel. Checking the start view online the pano starts not with the steering wheel as I want, the view is tilted and views the right site of the dashboard :(

    • @ptgui
      @ptgui  2 года назад

      @@arthurpluta Hi Arthur, there was a bug in PTGui which would cause certain pano viewers to open the panorama at a 180 degree offset. This was fixed in PTGui 12.10, released last week. This might have caused the issue.
      If you still have problems with v12.10, please post the details to the PTGui support forum:
