Frederick Forsyth & Wilbur Smith..great, "The Devil's Alternative" is one of Mr. Forsyth's best , his most famous novel is his first one , "The Day of the Jackal" which has a 1973 movie adaptation starring Edward Fox, Michael Lonsdale and now there is an upcoming Series starring Eddie Redmayne. Wilbur Smith was a British-South African novelist who used to write historical fiction, his novel "The Dark of the Sun" was a tale about mercenaries during the Congo Crisis, Rod Taylor starred in the 1968 movie adaptation. Mr. Smith's well know works were his novels featuring the "Courtney Family". Mr. Smith's another novel "Shout at the Devil" was also adapted into a 1976 movie starring Sir Roger Moore.
As a library professional and librarian I always look forward to the book's recommendations of this channel and include these books in our institute library collection. Also we have a practice of displaying 'Book of the week' in that we display these books. Thankyou Charu for making these pleasant and Informative video amd making our work easy.
Haha some people got in touch after seeing The Basement Bookstore here. Thank you so very much for the feature. I really appreciate! 🥰 Unfortunately, I had a muscle pull a day before. That’s why I was in a little bit of pain, so couldn’t talk to you guys. Otherwise, I try my best to talk to all the customers. 👻 Hope to see you again in future!
Loved the haul. Will look forward to see more such haul videos. Will also suggest to cover some of the bookfairs that happen all over the country like Lock the box by Bookchor, Load the box by Kitablovers, Booktales's book fair etc.
He was more of a hawker vendor but imagine you entering the market went straight from the gate, the vendors who are selling in the middle row is where I found him usually he set up his books on the middle row. I know it's not enough but in Sept I'll be visiting the place again and I'll make sure I find him ,ask his name/phone number n comment here so 🙏
2:31, I think you made an involuntary mistake there as George Eliot definitely sounds like a masculine name but it was actually the pen name of Mary Ann Evans. Great haul btw....
Thank you for pointing that out! I really appreciate your kindness. I haven’t explored her work myself yet, but I’d love to dive into this universe of literature.
I'm reading Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. In it, there is one character who says everything by George Eilot is perfect. To which, another one say, Nonsense, Adam Bede is a bore and Silas Marner is barely tolerable. What a coincidence that I get to know more about Adam Bede today through this video. I guess I'll have to read it now in some time! Anyway, love the excitement in this! Brilliant one!!
I loved this video to the core. It sets out everything that makes your inner child happy while reading in display. At this rate, we definitely see kitaabi cabins becoming our ultimate channel for book recommendations 🙂↕️
