It took me 3 ms. of thinking of thinking about doing this off and on until one day I just did it!!! I am wondering why I didn't do this years ago!!!! I ADORE it. It is so beautiful and functional. It somehow just elevated the "office" feel of the Filofax to a the "romance" feel of the Traveler's Notebook!!! I love it and I just want to thank the brave souls that came before (you included) to give us courage to do this. It is just such a pleasure to use now. The only problem is that now that I have done this and enjoyed it so much, I have been eyeing on the rest of my Filo's thinking they could use this improvement to!! HA!! Loved the video.....thanks for posting it!!! ; )

I love u! I made a Van Der Spek into a Travelers Notebook. It was pretty easy because it comes with removable rings. But I couldn't figure out how to get the rings out of my Personal Filofax that are riveted. And some people say it can't be done. Thank you, thank you! And love how detailed your videos are.
Just seeing this video in 2019. You can keep the rings and use the travelers notebook strings to reattach the rings. Carrie Harling did a video on this process! ❤️

I just found these journals at my local dollar tree 3 days ago. I like how you used them, same idea as me but I'm using my Franklin planner. Great looking and functional. Be blessed.

I have no plans to do this anytime soon, but when/if my rings die, I'll be all over this to use with my B6 Stalogy.
I am torn between staying with rings and going the dori route and this is the best of both worlds... now to get a malden cheap enough so I don't freak out ha ha! Great tutorial and I am really wanting to do this.

Wow, it turned out really nice! You did a wonderful job here. I have a few Maldens resting unused as I do not like the ring system any longer and now much prefer the TN style. Wondering if I will have the guts though ;) Thanks for sharing!

I also have several of these notebooks, love the nostalgic look of them. If they fit in your personal look for stalogy b6 notebooks on amazon. It's like a hobonichi techo. I wish I could ask you to remove my rings when I want to buy Malden. I'm afraid of rings. Love your video.

Suzee Neal Haha, absolutely! Since they've branched out to the Notebooks and already have the Flex system, it doesn't seem like it'd be that much of a stretch! Gillio already did it and seems to be enjoying success with that line!
Suzee Neal...You are so right!! They have such beautiful leathers to work with.......if they just wanted to "dip their feet" into the TN waters, they could just do a few in their Malden leathers. I would buy one!
I'd settle for replaceable rings, so you can choose to take them out or replace them with new ones / different sizes, etc.
They now make something called an "Folio," though it's only A4 and A5. I hope in the future they'll catch on. At the very least, they could make their planners with removable rings, like the Saffiano zip.
How do you jknow beforehand if there is a lot of glue on the spine?

Funny.....I have those exact same notebooks. Only I got them from Dollar Tree. It was at the beginning of this year some time. Michael's must have discontinued them

Suzee Neal I'd been intrigued by the idea ever since Kent from Oz posted pictures of his, but I didn't want to use my Pocket Malden and wasn't sure how it'd work with a Personal. Now I sort of want to convert more, even though I don't have a use for them. Because what I really need is a new planner addiction ;) Thanks for watching!

mysummertouch I'm planning on attaching the rings to a piece of plastic that I can then insert into the back vertical pocket so it can convert back to a ringed binder. So there might be a way to have it be not quite as permanent, and thus hopefully easier for you to make the decision =) Thanks for watching!
that's what I asked filofax company to do - removable rings! I have a review of an A4 filofax with removable rings - it is just so convenient! I'm going to watch your channel to see how you did it!
