Bringing back Hirdy is a given, second one is getting rid of the 4:40pm starts at Marvel on a Sunday. City loop is closed & takes twice as long to get home. Hate it with a passion.
The ending made this video. When I was a kid it seemed that the majority of Essendon’s games were on Saturday afternoons at the MCG, the Docklands stadium didn’t even exist yet. I miss those days, I really can’t be arsed going to games anymore. In fact, I haven’t watched a single game on TV either this year, the sport isn’t what it used to be, the only enjoyment I get from footy these days comes from these Essington videos.
IDK sounds like a you problem, this has been the greatest season of AFL in a long time. Also, Sunday arvo games get the highest attendance out of any games in the entire fixture; they're not bad, you just believe they are for some unknown reason. 4:40 is pretty rough to be fair but Sunday at 3:20 is unquestionably the best timeslot, statistically.
I’m old enough to remember footy in the 80s and 90s. I don’t consider what the AFL dishes up now to even be the same sport. I can’t remember the last time I actually got enjoyment from watching a game. The endless rule changes, the flooding, the umpiring, the terrible skills (even from teams at the top of ladder) have ruined the game.
@@ninjaskeleton6140 "I want defenders to be unprofessional and have no complex strategies again" is what you're saying. The sport is better now than the Mickey Mouse kick-kick-goal stuff from the 90's. There's actual pressure and contests. Just watch highlights if you only want to see goals.
Hird, April.2013, "And (when) you know you’ve got truth on your side, you go hard. And when you get your opportunity, you tell the whole truth. And when the truth comes out, I think I’ll be in a very, very good position, and so will this football club.” Come on Hirdy, the whole truth is long overdue.
Devon retires, Essington being Essington on Sunday, President steps down, news that Rutten was sacked then news that he's staying, Clarko being approached. Herb is going to work overtime this week
For those who didn't watch the game.... The comedy of errors were a result of the fierce pressure GWS applied for the whole game. I was waiting for them to ease back but they never did. Constant attention to the ball carrier. They showed how we should be playing. Our biggest problem was the combined loss of Shiel and Caldwell on our inside. WIthout those two we just got smashed in the clearances every single time with GWS pushing forward constantly. It was good to have Parish back but he hasn't been as hard inside as the other two we lost over the last month. Edit: and I absolutely love Hirdy and would love him back at the club some day.
Quality as usual herb! Geez we implode under trivial pressure. I’m genuinely concerned about McGrath’s career, he just keeps getting worse by the week. I’d consider moving him on if we can squeeze a first out of somewhere.

Hirdy we all still love you.... please save us and bring our soul back.... Rutten isn't the problem.... he is a great guy but we have no mongrel or soul.
Just wanted to say I appreciate you, Herb. And I'm embarrassed to admit this but I really like the song "Back for Good" by Take That (seriously, who came up the name, Take That?).
Perfect song use, bring him home, the redemption arc would be insane. On a different note, that one umpire who kept giving every decision GWSs away was a game change. The Stewart mark and then goal ro Toby was a huge momentum changer, would have we won? No, I don't think so as Essington had returned in a huge way but still it was an absurd call. I also agree with the discussion about Underwood, awful commentator.
Opinions on Guelfi? He's been playing well but we have the Davey boys coming in and Tex is developing. I'm not sure if he'll go back to wing or just get fazed out of the team
@@daneirvine4197 Alwyn Davey has two kids, Alwyn Jnr and Jayden, who both aren't far from entering the AFL and are both small forwards like their dad. Obviously who knows if they'll make the cut but as for now it looks promising
Gwelfi is the one hard tackling machine. It's smith I'm concerned about, we signed him for another year. One of the Davey twins is a superstar the other did a knee? Year missed.
If Guelfi improves again next season then he should be fairly safe; Snelling will be in the firing line if Tex or Jayden can break in. Alwyn Jr might take a little longer having to recover from his second knee reco
What was better at the start, the GWS DJ or Kelli Underwood forgetting they were called GWS
"Orange team"
The men from, um, orange
😂
Herb if we beat Richmond in round 23 preventing them from finals footy please use heroes by David Bowie it would be so perfect
richmond just destroyed the hawks and qualified for finals.
We just got smashed by port and tigers beat port the week before. if anything we are just giving them a light warm up session before finals.
He's already done Heroes; ANZAC Day 2021
Unlucky

It’s about as exciting as watching paint dry now.
Omg the Simpsons clip at the end absolutely killed me. Hahaha onya Herb!
Trade Jake Kelly to GWS for Hird
COME BACK JAMES!
can j just say, as a Melbourne supporter I love these videos and look forward to them every week

@Simon Bole his disposals are atrocious- costly turnovers usually resulting in scoring opportunities

Like watching Oz kick lots of errors,Cheers Herb.
Just when I was out you pull me back in

God, I hope he somehow sees this!! come back Hirdy!!
highlight of my wk watching these

Ben Rutten is the Matthew Guy of Essendon. Neither will lead their side to a Victory when it counts.
First in best dressed.
Ayeeeee it's that guy
Man I had definitely turned it off before that last chain of handballs inside 50. Excruciating to watch
Hirdatron that's what the channel should be called
yewyewyew herb rulezzz
Mate, you should be on the payroll @ Essendon ❤️🖤
Best one bro , heppel my gad how bad
Yes bring back the coach who also couldn't win a final, but was cheating.
that last play was cringe ahahaah
4:08 Fuck this represents the Bombers so well. Absolute mess.
He'd better bring peptides.
Come back 🥺
We need this dj at home games
Some of the worst, most comedic low lights of any game this season.... Now can we have a sequel to I Want You Back by the Jackson 5?
your deepfake technology may need an update herb, ol'Hirdy looked a bit like Russel Gilbert at the start when he was hugging that girl
We didn’t show up and play like how we should of. Disappointed but it happens
BRING BACK HIRDY
Herb…my 2nd comment. Pls issue a “Bring back Hirdy” t-shirt as merch!!!

Mel gibson/James hird looks very creepy
Is that James Hird or Woosha? 🤣🤣
🥺
Hird will make no difference to this team and to be honest I'd definitely prefer Clarkson
If we play Snelling again this week, we have really lost the plot.

No need to worry bout him cos he is out with a hamstring
