- We visit the National Trust property at Florence Court, in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
"Florence Court is one of Fermanagh's famous historic houses but also something of a mystery. Although it is one of the most important Georgian houses in Ireland, no building records survive, little is known of its architectural development, and its history is a patchwork of quite often contradictory documentary evidence." www.nationaltrust.org.uk/flor...

Hi Bob, Jenny and Poppy, I breathed in as you went through the gate. Good parking Bob. Lovely gardens, xx
I think you would enjoy Castle Archdale Country Park near Lisnarick. Is is a caravan site and it was a base for flying boats during World War II .
I enjoyed there
We did think of going there, sounds good.
Typically always at the highest standards your output B & J . Many thanks .
If you go back to Enniskillen, you can also visit Castlecoole House, coffee shop and walks.
Perhaps next time.
Yes Castle Coole is excellent. Florence Court has better grounds but as a house CC is much superior.
Lovely house well done bringing to life our local beauty to ppl
You can book a visit, to go up to the top of Coles Monument in the Forthil Park in Enniskillen. Thank you for the tour of the Florence Court grounds.
Hi Bob, jenny & poppy, I could spend all day walking the grounds. I like the peace & quiet, I wonder do they allow you to have picnics in the grounds, as the house itself is a perfect back drop. Thank you both for this lovely vlog, take care, lots of love. Linda xx ❤
I can't see why not, it would be a great place for a picnic. It'd have to be a blanket, didn't see any tables.
Absolutely, picnics are allowed. So many places to sit and relax in.
That was great, thanks Bob, Jenny and Poppy.
Very interesting video thanks Bob .Jenny and poppy 👍🐾
Delightfully presented, thank you! 😊
Lovely tour, really enjoyed all the out houses as well as the gardens and walks....thanks for sharing!!!!!
You're welcome
Some of my family came from County Fermanagh and rest from County Kildare, hope your trip is going well. 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍
It went very well thank you!
The plants with the huge leaves are called "Gunnera" keep up the good work. Bob, Jenny & Poppy.
Thank you, I remember now.
Another excellent video. We went there once but it was closed. Will have to go back. Nice to see somewhere that Poppy enjoyed too.
another great vlog
Really enjoyed the tour of Florence Court , very informative. Thank you.
You're welcome.
Walk here regularly with my dog. Lucky enough to live next door. Never gets tires, FC is beautiful 😍
Great to have it next door, we enjoyed it very much.
Very interesting, especially regarding the house fire and water collection.
Another great video tour. The mystery item in the dairy is a separator to separate off the cream from the milk. I am showing my age I guess but I can remember as a kid seeing these machines in the local dairy in a small country town in Victoria, Australia.
Thanks for that, I did wonder.
Great video so glad I found ur channel there last week. Florence court is worth a visit and only 50 mile from where I live. We hired a camper van last year and promised ourselves we would buy one. They are a great way to see the country and tour around.
Yes and you can have a snooze in them after a long walk!
good vid bob
Thanks
its lovely place, the mountain you were looking at , i think was Benbulbn, and the big leaves is called gunnera, they worked so very hard in those days, ironing all those white sheets !! that was a mangle not a dryer as you said, its nearly the same thing, , Thank you for shareing.
Thanks, I mangle my words sometimes!
@@BobEarnshawMoHo sure dont we all😁
The mountain is probably Cuilcagh whose flat summit is only five or six km or three to four miles from Florence Court. Benbulbin is about 30 miles away over near Sligo.
Looks a great place x
Yes, lovely place to stay.
Thanks for your video. Regarding recording guided visits. We visited Melrose Abbey last Thursday and Phyllis used your video to help us round. All 4 great Abbeys in the area do not allow anyone inside the main buildings now, only the surrounding parts so your tour allowed us to see what we were missing! The staff remembered you and Poppy and have viewed your video. Your guide John was due in the following day and they would tell him his tour is still helping others now.
We had to cut short out Scottish Borders trip and return home 2 days later as I have caught Covid. 300 mile towing our caravan in a day!
But we are home. Phyllis also now has symptoms!!!
Sorry to hear that and thanks for that information, good to know. We've both had a cold for the last few days, but we don't know if it's covid yet. Testing negative at the moment, but we know that's no guide.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo on first day just sore throat and negative test. Second day feeling a bit rougher and tested positive! I suspect the Royal Yacht Britannia that we visited on the previous Monday lots of enclosed areas though plenty of open doors and windows. Heard later Scotland had the highest infection rates in the country.
Wished I could get up those steps like Poppy😄
My ancestors lived near there, in the 1700s. They would have went there to pay their rent. The Lunneys, and Wallaces, and my direct ancestor John Sprouls/Sprowls.
We where caught in a thunderstorm here. !
Good filming felt like I was revisiting again even though it was just September I was there
Thank you.
I find watching your videos very restful and soothing, thanks for taking the time to prepare them. FYI the Butler’s Apartment, whose door you featured can be hired as self catering accommodation via the NT website. It looks lovely but sadly it is not dog friendly. The NT site at Castle Crom twenty or thirty miles from Florence Court does have dog friendly accommodation and is also really good for a peaceful break.
Thanks, that's interesting and good to know.
Thanks for another interesting video! Your brakes are squeaking a bit! Not yours but on your motorhome! ☺
Yes, a lot of Ducatos do the same and had them looked at earlier this year and they are fine.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Good! ☺ I look forward to your next adventure AND I love the driving and commentaries. I am re-learning a lot. #1 Drive slower!
Good to see the home of the Irish yew taxus baccatta' fastigiata' a sport of taxus baccatta the common or English yew.well done.
I used to collect yew clippings which was made into taxol for cancer treatment when I worked for the national trust.
I think they’re gunnera
I can see a movie under all those arches of ladies in crindolene or seductive couples dining under them watching croquet,On the lawns.. Bulgaria don't let ppl phota. Sounds wierd to be so possessive over taking photas.. Think political councillar rules do anything to sabotage interest. Even England members of national trust are fed up with trust rules.
