I’m hoping they make a Hammond collection version of this figure in the future. Kids will have a lot of fun with this but for me, it’s inaccuracies and play feature are quite a deal breaker
After seeing the hammond TRex I'm hankering for a Spinosaurus, or Giga.... hope they stay away for the mutants.
I wish the Hammond collection figure quality and level of posability was the standard of all their figures

I think everyone is always missing the point with those Mattel figures : they are T-O-Y-S. Of course they are not perfect, of course they are not made for collectors. They are for kids, and most kids don’t care if they can pose the figure, if the sculpt is accurate or if the paint job is good. They just want to have some fun, and this figure seems perfect in that aspect. I am personally thinking about getting this gigas because despite the action features, the sculpt is pleasing to my eyes 👀
But I want articulation in my toys
@@Randomgames3406 kid, this toy has articulation! Get some bluetac and put it on the joint! My kid does it and as long as you remove it before using the action feature!

You could probably turn this into a better figure if you customize this, modify the figure by getting rid of the crappy play feature, maybe give new articulation similar to the Hammond collection Rexy fig, and give it a new paint job. By the way, THAT giganotosaurus figure that you made is awesome!

The reason that Mattel Giga has into locking teeth like the Indominus Rex. Because Mattel are used a concept or prototype design to made Giga toys. Movie team has changed the design after the toys is done. That's the reason why the Giga toys looks different from final design that we saw in the movie.
It's the same case with Mattel's Pachyrhino. At first Movie has planed to be add Pachyrhino in Fallen Kingdom. And they gave the concept of pachyrhino to Mattel for making toys. But Movie team has changed Pachyrhino to the Sinoceratops after Mattel already made Pachyrinosaurus toys.
Same issue as Mattel Dominion Giganotosaurus. The concept or prototype design of Dominion Giga looks more like Indominus rex than how the final design does. Final design still looks similar to the indominus rex. But not as much as concept or prototype.

@@thehelioskrill5763 the mattel toy, no. If they ever released a different version, perhaps (but i doubt it) with a different sculpt, maybe I will buy it. But as of right now i do not need a figure like this.

Nah mattel have their own sculptors and like to make them look more stylised. They would never scan ILM models

I was thinking of buying this for my 12 year old son, whom loves toys like this. The review made me question buying the toy, although he said he very much wanted it and was trying to save up. Would you recommend this toy for him?

Anyways I might just consider getting there rubbersaurs giga and not the Mattel one Marco’s looks better Mattel did a lazy job on the paint and the size isn’t right Marco your rubbersaurs giga is definitely worthy for my collection
No it’s definitely small for a giga, the dominion giga is 23ft tall and 52ft long, rexy is 16-17ft tall and 40ft long, the indominus rex was 45ft long and 18ft tall, and both the indom figure and jwd rexy are around the same size or bigger than giga when giga should be much bigger than them

I'm honestly - speaking as a paleontologist - pretty irritated by the Giganotosaurus design in general - it's fine for a movie monster but in terms of matching the actual animal, it's pretty off base (and what is with the croc-like interlocking teeth on - of all things - a Carcharodontosaurid? Too much of a desire to scavenge from the Indominus design, I think) - and yeah, the head is ENTIRELY too broad (even in the film) - the real animal had quite a narrow skull compared to T. rex (in fact, T. rex overall WAS a bigger animal despite what the movie tries to claim - Giganotosaurus was perhaps a bit more lanky and had a somewhat longer skull but the maximum size of the two animals in terms of body length and height broadly overlapped - with a slight advantage to Giganotosaurus - while T. rex was a considerably HEAVIER, more powerfully built animal. It's a bit like comparing a great dane to a very large pit bull: the great dane might be taller and longer but the pit bull is going to bite MUCH harder and is FAR more powerfully muscled. T. rex masses out at around 10 tons for the larger individuals (11 or 12 if you assume heavier musculature) for the more cautious estimates while Giganotosaurus comes in about a ton or two lighter overall, and looking at the bones of the animals it's easy to see why - T. rex was built like an absolute tank.
SO, I'd have liked to see a more gracile build on Giganotosaurus with an appropriate tooth arrangement/shape, get rid of that hump and make the skull more narrow. This was not an animal built for bone crushing like T. rex - it was built for shearing off skin and flesh while avoiding the bone in a more precise fashion, and would have had a total bite force based on the structural limitations of its skull of less than HALF what a large Rex could put out.

The fact these are for kids and they'll use the action features but the ones who review these say its a negative is an absolute joke. Kids aren't collectors. They wanna play. So reviewers need to stop reviewing TOYS like they're collectors items. There's a separate line of toys for these style of reviews.
because equally people like to have them as a collection on their shelves and display them. In addition to many, such as this Giga, for example, they cost a lot for the details and joints it has. there is no mystery
@GOJIRA1954 i dont think you understand. There is literally a line for collectors. That line is souly just for display. I dont care which line they want to collect. But to collect this TOY line for CHILDREN to PLAY with, and then complain bcs it doesn't meet their display standards is outrageously idiotic. If they want to collect the toy line that's fine, but they don't get the right to also complain about the lack of displaying ability.
Thanks for completely destroying any anticipation and excitement for this figure by showing your prototype at the end. Now the Mattel figure looks like a complete joke by comparison. Great.
