RIP David Huddleston(1930-2016). IMO one of the best actors to portray Santa
ya mam lad
The very best 🎅🏼
I can't believe he's also The Big Lebowski
Bummer, who's going to play Loki?
He played the BEST Santa in my opinion.
This will always be the best Christmas movie of all history and for all ages
same, my favorite part was all the wood in the factory, amazing details, maybe that why i became a carpenter! merry christmas!
My one and only favorite Christmas movie of my childhood and still .
Just magical. ❤
same, my favorite part was all the wood in the factory, amazing details, maybe that why i became a carpenter! merry christmas!
@cmdrmasterslay7884 merry Christmas.
I’ve watched this movie every Christmas Eve since I can remember, and I’ve still yet to watch one I enjoy as much or more.
me and my family do the same; i can’t remember a Christmas i haven’t seen it
Classics never get old
Absolutely. I’m from Venezuela, and this movie is quite famous there, a classic! My sister and I used to sing the music in 4:57 while cleaning our room.
@Steven Briggs it's the closest 1 to the near thing if there was a near thing (real one i mean not fake making)
Steven : 👌😱😱😱Me too & Im a 43 year old woman.
This will always be my favourite Christmas movie ever since I was a kid as it shows the origins of Santa Claus!
Me too. When I was a kid we watched this film every Christmas Eve without fail xx
Same, this was Santa!
same, my favorite part was all the wood in the factory, amazing details, maybe that why i became a carpenter! merry christmas!
This movie is so underappreciated, but it just has the feel of Christmas written all over it.
Definitely a better movie than home alone
i was 10 yrs old when this movie came out and one of my favorite movies , The 80s and 90s were the best and all I can tell anyone that wasn't there , unless you were there man u just wont get it
Brings back so many childhood memories ❤️
I so happy that people are still remembering and appreciating this treasure as I am still!!!
It does something very special for me every time I see it.🥰
Heaven helps those who help their elf!
When I close my eyes and picture Santa’s workshop, the sleigh, and the elves - I see this. To all involved, thank you, the cinematography and score have forever shaped my festive spirit! Merry Christmas to you all!
Love this movie, brings back so many brilliant memories of my childhood at Christmas. So underrated this movie.
That beautiful music and seeing all those toys at 2:48 gives me goosebumps and I get a little teary eyed. It reminds me of being a child in the 80's. Such happy memories 🙂
Parts that make me cry tears of joy and give me goosebumps:
1) the part where they are shown the toys for the first time and that music is playing in the background
2) Dudley Moore marching with the reindeer behind him ready to go
3) the head elf talking to Santa Claus
4) the whole part where Santa takes off and it takes you through the centuries ( especially when it plays God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and it shows the letters falling down the chimney)
5) when Santa says he is checking it twice and then Thank you Santa starts playing with the kids singing
6) when he is flying over NYC for the first time
7) when he says that Christmas isn’t the same anymore and people are so selfish now
8) the ending where It’s Christmas all over the world plays
When the girl hears the boy eating the food. When the boy runs to hug Santa!
I thank you santa for bringing the christmas story alive. Live and kicking christmas joy.
My favourite Christmas film ever! We watch it every Christmas without fail!
But where was Rudolph?
This is the only Christmas film I truly love. The best Santa (RIP David) the best toys (wood crafted toys are just amazing), the stage-set and story is one I will always hold close to my heart. Pure 80s fantasy, full of colour, costumes and personality. It’ll be forever my number one till my grave, and has been for 30+ years.
This is my most favorite Christmas movie of all time!
Jeessh...those reindeer must be dashing along at Mach 5 - 😎😁 This movie brings back so much childhood memories
David Huddleston is, and always will be, THE Santa Clause. Such a great movie.
Always watched this movie with my parents every single year at Christmas before I moved away 7 years ago. And without fail we continue to watch this every Christmas. It’s a masterpiece ♥️🎄🎅🏻
If this doesn't bring back memories I don't know what does
My favourite Christmas film. This was the very first film I saw in the cinema when I was 10. Love it. 🥰🎅
Henri Mancini's music in this is awesome.
What? I didn’t know it was his music! No wonder it is so beautiful!
It’s like the Tom and Jerry movie in 1992. Even though it was hated by fans….
@@pennysanchez7656 Yep. Good score, bad lyrics, and an insult to Tom and Jerry. ;)
I remember when this came out in the eighties. Videos were just coming on the scene and my dad rented it from a video rental place. I think he watched I’d say15 times that weekend and that’s not exaggeration. He loved it!!! October 8 will be ten years since he passed. But this movie is a family favorite and every year we dig it out and watch it a few times. I think David Huddleston had a blast doing this movie. It’s funny he makes so much noise whooping and yelling but Santa sneaks in while you’re sleeping. Nobody heard him and he’s making all that noise😃😃😃. But anyway if you haven’t watched it and can get over yourself enough to just enjoy it for what it is instead of having an attack over the fact that everyone knows is a myth you’ll like it. If you are somebody that wants to criticize everything you won’t like it. I love it!!!!!!
I loved it but why no Rudolph?
Best Christmas film ever ❄️
This movie brings back so many wonderful memories of my childhood. I watch it every year over the Christmas holidays and will continue to do so it's my favourite Christmas movie ☺️
This movie is my Christmas Eve tradition. Loved this movie as a kid.
Loved this movie every Christmas childhood memories 😪
I have so many Christmas movies I love to watch every year the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen I love watching them but this one i first saw when I was 10 and very since it's has been my favorite ever since and will always be my favorite it truly feels like a Christmas Movie and really brings out the magic of Christmas and the children inside us that loved Christmas.
I used to watch this in the middle of the summer 😂. I loved it!
My first movie Of Christmas I watched this movie when I was 5 years old I loved Santa since that.. 😭
Still the best Santa 🎅 movie
This is by far the best movie about Santa Claus and Christmas 🤗❤️
Love this movie its so magical love the music
This will always be my favourite santa movie!!
This was my first Cinema movie as a child.
I always loved this movie up until the second half.
I loved this movie as a kid. I genuinely believed they hired the real Santa to make this movie lol
I can watch this any time of the year… Love it
The vendegomes
I was 5 when this came out and from that moment, David Huddleston portrayed what I imagined Father Christmas was.
Another great example of a movie that was way ahead of the times.Love this movie😊
I remember this movie back in 1985 sitting in the movie theater I don't remember if I was 7 or 8 but this so magical and I watched this every Christmas b/c David Huddleston made me believe in Santa he was the best Santa Claus and Dudley Moore was in this. Dudley Moore had such a sad life. This movie flopped at the box office when it came out but it was so magical to me at the time.
This is a VERY underrated and almost forgotten Christmas movie. I was about 10 years old when it came out and I have fond memories watching it during the season. I really like it because it tells a Santa story that is entertaining, non-ironic (lookin' at you Elf!), magical, and updated for the modern day. The Actors that played Santa and Mrs. Clause are dignified and regal; both delivering solid performances. Dudley Moore acts with such warmth and heart it's almost unbearable. John Lithgow is fantastic, as is the old elf with the super long beard. We should all demand that YT air this one for free every year! Merry Christmas :D
I don't think the Super Duper Looper would've been necessary when all Joe and Patch had to do was jump out of the car and into the sleigh the minute Santa flew underneath them, but at least Donner overcame his fear, especially in the event of an emergency. Way to go, Donner!
But where was Rudolph??
@@janeknight3434 This was probably before Rudolph's time. And according to the Rankin Bass version of Rudolph, Donner was Rudolph's dad.
@@waynemacfarland1546 haha thanks lol. It bothered me, I was waiting for Rudolph’s arrival throughout the whole film. I was born in the 60’s and sang Rudolph the red nosed reindeer even back then, I’m sure.
I've never seen this movie, looked up the reviews, and the critics HATE it. But it seems that you Brits have turned it into a Christmas Cult Classic.
Watch it. Critics don’t like it probably because it is not a superficial movie that focuses on kids complaining about not getting what they wanted for Christmas. It is a very touching movie with a truly beautiful message to the world. Ps: I’m not British
Proud Santa Claus the Movie loving Brit here!! 🥰🎄❤️ I’ve watched it with my family on every single Christmas Eve since I was a kid and now I’m 41!! And watch it with my own family. It’s absolutely magical 🥹 Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it!! 🎄❤️
It’s THE best story of how the “Santa Claus” myths started
I watched it in Colombia dubbed to Spanish back in the late 80s. It's wonderful for kids 🍭
Ignore the critics. It's a beautiful movie. Anyone who hates this movie has no soul.
My favorite Santa movie
That super super 80’s song at the end, ITS CHRRRIIIIISSSTTMAAAASS ALL OVER THE WORLD TONIGHT … you
Can literally smell the hairspray
RIP, Dudley Moore (1935-2002), one of the best actors ever to portray one of Santa's elves.
I really want to see the whole video again it was a long time ago I want to see it again 🎄✨️🥰
This one and all I want for Christmas. 2 all time favorites
Classic
This is my favorite Christmas
Top film of all time especially when you've got a bottle of baileys and vodka get some !!!oh rah!!!xx
I’ve watched this movie 3 times this Christmas season already.
This 100% deserves a remake!
Nah its a classic
Sorry, but the magic just won't be the same.
Possibly the most underrated Santa movie.
Christmas Two!!!!
RIP David Huddleston & Dudley Moore
My favorite childhood movie
14:13 is the single greatest moment in the entirety of both this film and Jon Lithgow's career.
When I was a kid I thought I was going to get one of the handmade toys from this room. Instead, I got a Mr. T puzzle 😆
Love this movie. Its on amc right now!
Una de las mejores películas de mi niñez,deberían de volver a pasarla x la tv
Love this movie
8:17 "boy, do you fear death?"
"cram it, old man!"
"then thour't worthy of joining my horde for all eternity!"
Santa: "The *SUPER DUPER LOOPER!* it's the only way"
And served no purpose what-so-ever in catching them.
It's been years since I've watched this movie
Good Scenes But What Is Missing Had Been When All The Reindeer Were Given The Magic Elf Potion In The Hay They All Had Eaten + When They First Learned To Fly In The Sky. (♏♏🦂🦂☯☯☮☮).
/
This is my favourite Christmas movie
Beatifull
Lol my favorite part for freeeee 😆
When you found out that there's a free samples for Tide pods and everything else
14:13

They just don't make them like this anymore😭😭😭😭
Elves wake up and go straight to work without first having breakfast..and this is heavy.
Super video nice
How could you not include Burgess Meredith? His scene stole the movie!
And the first take off
And what’s funny is Burgess Meredith played Mick in the first three Rocky movies. Boy did he look different in this. Course that’s just a costume but still😁😁😁
@@jerrystuch6723 Burgess Meredith had a long career before playing Mickey in the Rocky movies.
@@williamshaw9047 I'm sure they are aware if that 😂
What part did he play?
When i was young I seemed to remember a scene THAT I THOUGHT and still pretty sure was from this movie that has ALWAYS been one of my favorites, that show Santa bringing the two kids to his workshop and showing how he dressed for different countries, and now that scene is gone. I KNOW I am not crazy or having a false memory. Does anyone else remember if it was this movie or another movie and if so which one. I miss that, I remember being AMAZED by that scene to see all of the DIFFERNT out fits and what he is called in other countries. please help if you can I have been trying to find ANYTHING online showing that memory.
I think the movie ends with the two children (the homeless boy and B.Z.'s niece (?)) at the North Pole with Santa and there's a montage in the first part of the film that shows Santa delivering toys over the centuries and various children playing with vintage toys.
@@williamshaw9047 Yea I remember all that. but this scene was showing two young children or at least one of them how he appears and dresses and what he is called in other countries. I remember it because I as a young child never knew Santa had different outfits..lol I thought he looked the same everywhere. I have never found that clip and if it was not this movie I cant find the one it was in, But I really thought it was this film because I remember think WOW those are REAL REIGNDEER and LOOK and the neat specially food..lol
Haha the elves using their beards as pain brushes
Anyone else watching game this in June?
I have never seen Santa in Viking apparel before.
Well I believe in him
This movie is a classic how it didn do well I don’t know one of the best Xmas movies
This santa claus the movie is the nearest one to the real thing "if there was a real thing "
❤❤❤
1:56 - What’s so amazing about Patchs heating idea, with pipes?
The movie is clearly set in modern 80s America
It started out in the late middle ages, 1300-1400 A.D. There was a through the years montage that showed each passing century until we get to the 1980's in the 2nd half.
I'm 49 and watched this with my son I enjoyed it more than him lol
best memories with this movie!
Personally I would just hunt for the dvd, I know I did and its still was worth it.
16:50 That's something you don't hear from Santa Claus every often.
