I've got an '86 Honda GL1200 Goldwing that I often haul heavy with - I use it for everything, haul a 12 foot flatbed trailer behind it for farm supplies, have hauled 1200# behind it - power is no problem, but brakes are a bit dodgy at that weight. I also haul my pop up camper - it's a blast. The worst of your road there is a lot like the 5 mile road into my remote farm in South Florida after a rain. Deep sugar sand and puddles.
