hello, I have a Nad 3020A, will there be a problem with the amplifier if I turn on my dac in LAB IN and remove the jumpers from NORMAL IN and PRE OUT? I have never used LAB IN, but when I included my dac in it. The sound has improved significantly. But I don't know if I use this switch, is there a problem with the amplifier? Thanks and send greetings.

I think LAB IN extends the frequency range beyond 20-20kHz. Normal in limits the frequency range. If it works for you, fine I guess. Other opinions on this?

@@vikingskipdotcom Lab in works well for me. But I wanted to know if there would be a problem with the amplifier.

Hi, can you say what is a difference between those two ?? Do they sound differend?

    • @vikingskipdotcom

jakubjank 3020A has a switch for MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) pickups which is missing on the older 3020.

@@vikingskipdotcom please is there any difference between 3200a and 3200e ?

just found nad 3200e on the local market place for 150 euros? Is it worth a buying

MrProgressor73 It appears that the MC switch, DIN connector and pre-amp out is missing on the 3020e. The layout on the rear side is different and simpler. The power rating is increased to 25W, which to most listeners is barely noticeable. I can't tell if the power amp stage is different or not. In any case, changing the capacitors might be a good idea before they start leaking. These things are indeed vintage.

MrProgressor73 The price isn't unreasonable if the amp is in good condition and plays well, but it's your call.

Hi, I have a Nad 3020 A after replacing all the electrolytic capacitors, there is a pops in the right channel of the amplifier. By removing the jumpers, the popping disappears. When I disconnect directly from the power, the popping also disappears. If I want to turn off the selector normally, I have to turn the speaker balance to the far left position. Then there is no popping either. Has anyone had this problem with Nad 3020?

Is the pop very loud or barely noticable? I always turn the volume knob down to nine o'clock, yet there is a low pop from both channels. My 3020A has always been like that, so I guess it's normal. If the pop changes to a constant humming, there is something wrong. You could check if there is a DC current on one of the channels with a voltmeter.

@@vikingskipdotcom When I turn off amplifier there is a strong pop in the right channel. The popping disappears if I turn speaker balance knob (left and right) to the far left and then turn off the amplifier. The popping also disappears when I turn off the amp, directly from the power plug. There is no constant humming. This is not the normal popping that these amps have.

H,which one is the C531 63V 47uF? It doesn't work properly by me.

Can't quite recall it a year later, but I think it is the 100V 47uF cap.
