As an Indian : China is my enemy since 1962.
As Hindu: Our civilizational competitor is much ahead now, so we need to be diplomatic.
As Anti colonialist: I feel we must learn alot from China and feel proud as well.
As a realist: this is bipolar world, we need to be very cautious every step to avoid war on our soil.

The only feeling I get when I hear about china is REGRET. With more per capita income than the Chinese in 1990s, india lags more than 5× in PCI as compared to the chinese now... I see a lost economic prestige when I see china. That's what I regret.

One thing, maybe China wanted to distact the world from the pandemic that was being discussed to be caused in China. Other thing could be that seeing that Indian force won't back up even in these winters which proves to China that India would be tough to defeat

There is indeed something to be proud of Indian soldiers and current Indian government.
They thought we would concede if persist for long. But we sticked with our demand and let's hope status quo will be restored. And New Delhi deserves appreciation for their perseverance.
Disengagement may happen. But it is not a victory of the government. It’s just a compromise. Indian has already lost its territory. Soldiers used to patrol up to finger 8. Now they will be able only up to finger 4. This is about 8 Kms of encroachment.China has already got what they desired. Now few years from now China will again create tensions and grab more territory. They will grab entire Ladakh in this manner.
@@Siddeo Watch the video again. It says patrolling wont be there only till some time. And India has reiterated always that we wont relent till status quo is restored. So this is a huge positive step in that direction.
And the chinese as per the agreement is being moved past finger 8 where they used to be before the tensions.

Chinese authorities are literally forbidding Indian soldiers to patrol a 8 KM length of land where they used to patrol just until last year. This is in no way a victory for india. Not even close..

One thing missed out in the analysis was the peace overture made by the Pakistani establishment which came even before the disengagement announcement by the Chinese side, probably triggered due to lose of one chip that Pakistan could have used if the situation arose. The Pakistani establishment probably had an inkling of what was about to come.

By design or otherwise, the all important Dhan Singh Thapa Post was not shown on the displayed map. It is over 4 km west of Finger 4, the pre April 2020 LAC. That represents a significant loss of territory for India. China stops patrolling the 8km stretch, India stops patrolling 12 to 13 km stretch.

He also did not want to talk about the satellite images and said that civilian sources in Ladakh were telling him when civilians were not allowed 100 kms of the conflict zones.
