This was definitely the best episode of the season. Solo's scenes had me feeling things I didn't think this show could make me feel. Let me know your thoughts on the episode in the comments!
I thought it had been kinda obvious that Solo was a child when things went down.. Steve Zahn is a good actor, and i could feel his kid-like mentality from the start.
Yep. So many of the characters in "Silo" represent a character trait or failing--and Audrey definitely represents selfish, self-absorbed, and untrustworthy. If the storyline continues in Silo 17, I see Audrey betraying (at least) Solo/Jimmy, and possibly her baby-daddy, Rick, too. Audrey's already made "Eater" an Outcast (who will probably travel to Silo 18 with Juliette), so taking over the Vault, and becoming the "Ruler" of Silo 17 is in character. I have NOT read any of the books, but this would be a nice narrative arc for the series.
I thought it was pretty obvious that Knox was talking to her in a way that he knew what she had done, and he was telling her that she wouldn’t be punished and he understood why she did it.
And most likely he knows that they are being watched. Whatever plans he says is fake. Also to see if he was right about Waler being the snitch. If she snitches about that he would know.
@ I watched an interview with one of the creators at the start of the season and he mentioned how he teared up in on of the scenes with Solo and Jules. Never thought I'd ended up tearing up myself
No thats the founders doing the memory wiping thing with the water. I think command center's Safeguard is literally killing everyone in silo with poison Gas because it doesn't want anything one left alive knowing the truth. The memory wiping chemical in the water didn't work for too long and some people are not being affected by it after a few generations of children being tolerant to this chemical in the water. Memory wiping chemical is not working any longer after 100+ years.
That isn't a threat so much as a reset. The threat is the loss of all life in the silo. And to be fair, there is probably more than one way to make this happen.
In the same conversation where Knox is discussing the mole with Walker and listing his fake suspicion he also suggests he understands why Walker did it.
he knew she was being watched and spilled some disinfo. Probably to setup an ambush. Catch Amundsen and the raiders off-guard and maybe even have the deputies with him on his side.
Knox already knew it was the old lady as she was only other one who knew about what they did with that missile. Hes just trying to send coded messages to tell old lady he knows whats up but shes kinda slow to recognize it due to camera being on watching and hearing.
@@sparda9060 yes he knew thats why he said we are changing plans here what we will do, and when they will try to do thebombs and the catch them, then he will definitely know the old lady is the mole, remember he didn't mention that she has a COMPUTER
I wasn't expecting Lucas to be contacted by a voice from above down in the tunnels! Even having read the books, the show has me intrigued through some of the changes they've made. You know they have to get to a certain milestone in the story but how they get there could be quite different. It's been a bit slow at times but hopefully this season ends on a high note!
I don't think Knox is setting up the ruse to ensnare Walk, I think he's doing it to mislead Bernard and his goons and have them occupied with a false lead while they pull off the real plan.
Does it seem as though that the higher power (whatever it may be) no longer has any control over Silo 17. Could it turn into a sanctuary from the threat of The Safeguard.
I feel like Lucas might actually turn out to have the right stuff to be the head of IT by the time the shows over. I kind of actually dont want anything to happen to Bernard though, I kind of feel bad for him, When he's explaining why she had to die to Mary, (or maybe when he talks to Rob, anyway) he says things changed and he had to factor her into the algorithm... The voice Lukas talked to at the end of episode 9 was credited as "the algorithm" I think there's a good change a lot of his actions that make us perceive him as a bad guy are out of his control, they even hinted at it this episode when Rob mentions the light up 18 key, which we know flashes when the head of IT is being hailed by the AI, aka The Algorithm.
Bernard is a socio path and needs to be put down. He's already destroyed so many lives. He tries to cover up his evil with excuses as to why he acts like he does
@@dffndjdjdI hope not. Absolute wanker if he has. Although I’ve noticed a few predictions being a bit too specific and they get it bang on without evidence. Very frustrating. I remember this channel talking about the water being shallow enough to walk in but we didn’t have anything to suggest it. So I think you could be right. I really hope it’s not
Interesting that Barnard calls it "the legacy" when talking to Mary about the VR headset and to Kyle introducing him to The Vault. Could be two levels of AI, Legacy is to use in The Vault and Algorithm to control Silos. When he was in the Morgue talking to Mary he made out that he was making the decision and he didn't mention "the algorithm" he called it his calculation. The Season 2 episode 6 at at 27 minutes If our roles were switched, would you have done the same? What if I failed, Mary? 140 years of stability, and it could all end on my watch. I made the calculations, I planned for everything. Then... events forced me to factor you in to the calculation. For that, I'm truly sorry.
I do understand that his obtaining relics and related items has proven to be good for the Silo's long term overall health as rebellion can cause issues. I don't necessarily feel bad for him as he made some choices and screwed over many a person to get and stay in the position he is in. In just under two seasons he has had 3+ shadows to eventually obtain his role that we know of. He uses people and then throws them away or worse, he frames them for terrible things he has actually done. There has to be some level of working with people and rewarding good attempts, but saying they are not the right candidate for the position while keeping them engaged in another job in IT since they know too much. I don't think anyone has ever really "liked" him and the old governor did at least walk the halls and say hello and wave at the people. . . . .He needs to have the people focus on maybe finding a new governor insead of being so piss with him and the seeding anger within the Silo. His own personal attacks and intrigues are making him suck at his job of once great misdirection. He does much better behind the curtain rather than in front of it.
@@blackdandelion5549 absolutely he's struggling as mayor eh. and yea dont get me wrong hes a baaad dude and hes emotionally walled off to the point it makes him dangerous....but seeing his soft side, knowing he had to kill the only person he ever felt he could kind of be himself around...oof
I'm pretty sure that the server room, while having servers also, is the communications hub for each silo. I think the head of IT does there to talk to the head of IT of other silos and/or the person/people that watch over all the silos. I'm thinking the overlord, or whatever, told him to be Mayor.
Yes, the AI "The Algorithm" controls Barnard or they deploy the safegard, reset the silo, wipe memories, and they start again. Barnard told Lucas that Salvador medicated the water but it was actually the safegard. Sims and Camille are going after Lucas for information as they cut to him immediately after this exchange between them: Camille: What's in the server room? Besides servers. Sims: I don't know. The only person with access is the head of IT or whoever has the key. Then they cut to Lukas Kyle.
I love it when they combine both the emotional drama and lore discovery in an episode. A kid that all he's ever known is solitude and guilt at failing his father's final instructions to him. On the opposite side, a group of survivors desperate to prevent their families from starving to death and a generational mission to get into the vault in the hopes of salvation from their awful existence. Hoping finale gives more of this as a strong finish to the season.
yup when the silo gate is closed my guess is their safeguard is flush it with water, but if the gate airlock is opened like silo17, the safeguard was another thing, gas clouds, something like that.
@@Commander-Mustang that is brilliant and most probably correct guess otherwise Solo wouldnt say then gas came again at first everything was ok bla bla he said
Being a parent and experience in Scouts I can Honestly say kids in mechanical (and me) would have built a way to get into the water. Nothing stops adventure when you are a kid. If the builders went through all the trouble of adding AI into the tunnel they also would have concealed it if they didn't want anyone finding it.
Pretty sure the Ai doesnt talk to anyone and even if it does, the way it seems it can decide to open its doors itself. Meaning if you and i would have stumbled upon this vault door at the bottom we would get now answers. We would just see another vault door out of many. Finding the vault door diesnt really give you the answers you need. In order to get the answers you must understand a whole lot more about all the silos.
They probly stretched it into 10 ep so writers have more time to write the story lol... I skipped so many scenes from the silo in season 2 cuz the rebellion crap was so fking boring. i watched the parts with Jules.
funny enough, Bernard the villain is actually the only one whose still at the silo trying to save everyone. Only Jules is the other person who knows about this and shes not there to help bernard with stopping the rebellion. All in all I think this entire show is basically future humans doing a live human experiment on how they can control a society that is living in a post apocalyptic world in nuclear fallout. they create silos and 1 central control silo in order to monitor all the people in 50 silos. I think they are all living underground in a massive cave dome where the sky is fake digital image with lights. The control center is trying to watch how people would react in this situation in order for them to formulate a plan for the future when this scenario does happen. In order to keep people safe and stopping them from going outside to their deaths believing that nuclear fallout is gone. Its a huge PsyOp experiment done by govt research !!
I agree with everything you said but I also think they are on mars or some other planet and all relics are things the original people brought with them to space for the journey before all minds were wiped
I believe Knox was actually speaking in code to Walker, she understood. If you look at their faces and how they said what they said, he told her he knows is her and she asked about her wife, he said we haven't seen her but we understand the traitor and won't get upset. The set up is for the Mayor.
Obserd. Solo knew their were other people in the silo and said nothing to Juliette? They both are shot with arrows but are healed? (Fine I can live with tv magic there) But why on earth would archery girl want to kill Solo? He holds the keys to the castle. Does she enjoy eating rats? Ok fine she thinks he killed her parents, she couldn't wait until he opened the silo supermarket?
@@nataliaverneque6660the silo is pretty big and it looked like where they lived was a little bit more outside where a baby cyring wouldnt have been mich of a problem sound wise
I'm with on you on the best episode of the season. The one thing that's disappointing is that Audrey girl. Her personality is a caricature of every revenge seeking psycho. No dimension there even when she needs food for her child, she's willing to kill the only person with the code to find it. Simply crazy. Sure Juliette knows the possibilities but there is no way Juliette will help the psycho if she murders her friend. I thought the writing was weak there. The rest of the show was pretty good. I just wonder where Lukas is going. He has basically sided with the rebellion and after finding the tunnel, what's he going to do? Go back to being the Bernard's shadow? And will he tell Bernard what he has uncovered? How will he do that? It seems he has no place in the Silo if the rebellion is quelled. Just more digging.
He will probly act like Bernard's lapdog while keeping the secret tunnel info he found as secret from him. Just like Judge Meadows kept that secret from Bernard too as Bernard didn't know about the tunnel at all but Meadows knew about it. Maybe the truth is that central silo #51 is control center and its planning to wipe out entire silo when someone figures out the truth about going outside which is caused by rebellion wanting to go outside, which Meadows finds that like a doomsday that will inevitably happen no matter what she does, so thats why she wants to go outside and commit self deletion.
I wouldnt say lukas sided with the rebells. He is on no ones side. His main goal is to statisfy bernard so he doesnt have to go to the mines and the way he helps him is by finding answers behind all the silos and their purpose. Lukas always has been an really curious person and helping bernard is basically also helping himself finding answers. Lukas sides with anyone he needs in order to find answers. If the tunnel wouldnt have been in the lower levels he would have never spoken with the rebels. He is on no ones side. He sees the bigger goal. Finding answers behind the silo and its purpose thats why he risked his life going down.
Barely any plot progression? Not sure what you mean. Every episode has been progressing the plot. This is following the books very closely with only a few concepts appearing in different ways.
Am i the only person wondering how on earth she's gonna get back in? I don't suppose they have a doorbell, and i can't see Bernard minded to let her back in if she appears on the cafeteria display.
It’s obvious that here in the comments, people haven’t read the books. No spoilers from me, but this ending scene with Lucas didn’t happen. But what a great addition!! This was definitely the best episode of the season.
The difference between the books and the shows are interesting!! I really like the adaptation they do. It’s the same story but different and it’s done very well. I wish the underwater scene was as dramatic as it was in the book though
@ It was! I was kind of surprised that the show didn’t include what Jules went through during the dive. Like how she was covered in gas and oil and what she experienced, how she felt etc.. Either way, the show does right by the books. This show/book series is very special!
If you were't watching with closed captions on- the voice and the end is called "The Algorithm". Which I think is the same voice / tech, that swore Lucas Kyle in when he became the new IT shadow.
It’s was probably obvious to many of you, but it’s fun realizing that the title “Silo” has a double meaning…the physical silos and the silos of information.
I can't believe they are (apparently) going to stretch the book Wool into 3 seasons. And it does feel very stretched. There has been so much stuff added in the show that is not in the book. At this rate, it will be 20 years before they get through all the Silo books.
I think Knox knows Martha is sharing information somehow, but he understood that is not willingly.... Possible twist is that there's no Teddy or that his mother is dead (something that they know and Bernard doesn't) .... I think that's why he emphasized in you can blame a mother for protecting her son.... Next week will be good !!!
I haven’t read the books but here’s my take on what could happen on the final episode of season 2. Lukas Kyle is told by the A.I. voice what is behind the wall in the tunnel and then proceeds up that silos wall back up to the top. Now it would be interesting to have it be a whole new silo for next season however I believe it’ll be the same silo as the one Juliet went into. As soon as Juliet is getting ready to go back to silo 18 Lukas stops her and takes her down the tunnel that’s my prediction for the end though. As for the mechanical people and Bernard I’m guessing the mechanicals kill of some raiders and get close to overtaken the silo with the help of sims and his wife only to stopped by Bernard and his evil ways. I know I could be wrong but that’s just my thought. So far so good with this season and can’t wait for the season finale.
@KLHull95 I had thought that only meant the water wouldn't rise any higher (but I could be wrong), not that it would totally drain. But even if it did drain, it would probably take a very long time to do so for that much water
Another problem I have with this episode is how Shirl acts after she leads Lukas to the bottom of the Silo. When he is about to go into the water, she just says you're on your own. She just doesn't care anymore and starts the long trip back up. That would never happen, they have always wondered about the water, she would have most likely gone with him being that they are in a crisis event and doesn't know him , in the very least she would have stayed and watched from above. Even at that he gets to the tunnel only a few minutes after he is in the water and walks into the tunnel. Shirl would have heard that thunderous voice as she would have been on the long ladder back to the top. Maybe it will be revealed that Shirl did hear, but she would have never left him alone in the first place.
Its more like a easter egg kind of spot. No one knew how deep the water was and everyone assumed it would have been too deep. No one in all the silos know how to swim (for obvious reasons). And even if some curious people would have managed to go down to the secret vault door, nothing major would have happened ? Its just a vault door like all the other doors they have seen. The obly thing that makes this vault door special is that it CAN talk. We dont know if that voice thing happens everytime someone stand infront of it. Maybe the voice thing differentiates between people and obly speaks to IT people. Meaning even if some curious people managed to find the vault door they would just see another metall door, nothing special. And to be faur the big drill thing is way more interesting than just a small vault door at the bottom.
@@AliElBaba Agreed! And the voice did say that it didn't talk with George Wilkins when he reached the door, so it does choose whether it speaks or not.
still don't get one thing : why that young annoying girl decided to kill juliette first without even talking to her ... her judgement is ridiculous - lucky the guy is waaay more rational than her
Very true. I think we're supposed to believe she's protecting her baby by removing competition for food which is extremely scarce outside of the vault. Just because someone grows up in the "wild" without parents doesn't make them a psychopath.
bad writting, it is what it is. Juliette is the single person they see since childhood and somehow they have 0 questions about their past and they decided to get rid of hell. Such a great episode just to turn a little down by her. the actress killed it, no offense, she did a good job (enough to dislike her) but the arc is just too much.
@@joelcruz9415 they were eating rats apparently ... like the other girl who likes like a guy said .... The thing is that the couple looks waaay too good and clean for people eating rats ... at least Solo had access to good food because of the vault ... but everybody else ? beats me
Jules is going to walk back to silo 18 with the girl Eater, right before the people of the silo are about to go full blown rebelion, the season will end with people of the silo in disbelief, the next season is going to take a huge dynamic shift of the silo, a new entity will be revealed that is worse than finding out if outside is safe or not, my guess is that the new entity is going to be some sort of a group that controls over all silos and lukas is the one whos going to be connected to them but instead of him going insane because of the information, he's going to do something about it. TDLR: silo 18 will know that Jules is alive, the rebelion will stop, a new villain is introduced that will interfere with the desinty of the silo because people know that jules survived outside which means the pact is a lie.
This episode really did a lot for me. Answered questions but replaced them immediately with bigger ones. I held out faith that Solo was a pure soul, a kid inside, and felt huge vindication after getting his backstory.
I can’t imagine that Bernard would ever in a million years open the door for Julia so I agree Lucas will have to go through the tunnels to silo 17 and sneak Julia back into silo 18. (Let’s hope the drain has done its job in silo 17). Seems more likely however that the vault would have a secret door to the tunnels. And who is the God voice and how did he know who Lucas was? Perhaps someone in silo 51 that collects all the computerized info from all the other silos.
I mean if juliete goes infront of the camera everyone in out vault would literally see juliete ? Bernard would have no choice but to let her in otherwise EVERYONE in the whole silo would go nuts
Could silo 17 be the result of Safeguard? It’s never fully explained what happened, just that Solo recalled (as a child) chaos, rebellion, and lack of order was the result. Was the silo partially flooded to hide any chance of accessing the tunnel? The head of IT doesn’t even know what safeguard is and might explain the flooding so there no possible way of escaping alive. Some thoughts: - The tunnel has to be how water is transported in, so maybe Safeguard quite literally safeguards the silo from any escape below
I don’t know whether the lighting in this show it’s supposed to be sexy or what but it’s just so dark I mean, even the last scene just standing there talking to a voice and is like completely dark, but that one little light all the difference scenes with the different characters whether in rooms was just dark dark dark dark I mean You can’t put on this show unless you have the energy to try to figure out what is what are you saying because you can’t see anything I don’t know what they’re saying. Maybe it’s supposed to be at the theater and it’s gonna be bright. It will be brighter, but it’s on TV and even if you have a great TV great back lighting. You have to turn off all the lights watch show otherwise And even with that you can’t see what the hell is going on half the time
The tunnel was a little too easy to find but the spotlight voice came soon enough after to distract me. Had all but given up on this series but this episode was strong enough to rekindle my interest.
My theory: they are not on earth and they are waiting for a terra forming process to be completed but somehow that process stopped and they were on there own
I have to say that's a really nice theory. I like it. But didn't Juliette see a (presumably abandoned) city on the horizon once she got out of the silo?
@@vibovitoldcould have maybe been just a projection ? Just a guess tho. Maybe a fail save so even if people managed to go out for a few minutes they would still think they are on earth rather a whole different planet 🤷🏽♂️
I wish some of the earlier episodes had been better edited/directed so solos age at the rebellion was a surprise. We knew from the first episode that the rebellion happened a long time ago because of the way everyone looked and was dressed so solos age reveal was a duh. In fact I wondered every episode if it would finally be revealed. This season was frustrating because of little things like this .
We all know that whenever something bad happens in the silo, Bernard's key to the server room lights up. My theory is that there is a tunnel as was shown in the blueprint of silo in episode 5. Maybe Bernard has access to algorithm, and he is calling him by lighting the key up to whenever hes wants to discuss smth
I like your take on Knox sniffing out the Rat. That makes it three possibilities: 1. Knox actually believes it's Teddy's Mom. 2. Knox knows that it's Walker and she's being forced to play to the camera 3. Knox strongly suspects it's Walker and is feeding her false info to be sure. The camera (and, really, the microphone) doesn't play into it at all. (Your theory) Number 1 is a sucker bet. Number 2 rests on Mechanical knowing that they're all being watched all the time. That's not firmly established, and there is evidence for Yay or Nay. Number 3 now seems the most likely, and avoids story holes. Big fan of the idea, though it sort of kills redemption for Walker.
The series is not far off from the books the safeguard is already explained in the books for anyone who can’t wait because Apple loves to take its time with this series for no reason just read the books and everything will be explained
Love Silo!!! The Solo reveals were obvious. This episode was awesome but I wish it was episode 7 and we had a much longer finale. I could have watched an episode after this one-- maybe 1/3 kid solo growing up with hallucinations of people, 1/3 dealing with the changes in mechanical, and 1/3 with lucas kyle getting all his info. I really hope they have enough time to nail the finale in one episode; I feel like it was building up to be 2 eps, but now we're out of time.
The performance of Audrey’s actor detracts from the quality of the show when it’s already at a low point. This season has already been lackluster and the poor lighting was a frustrating choice. There is an argument to be made that the character is meant to be hated and that if you hate the character, then the actor is good: But this quality of acting isn’t reminiscent of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, it just seems like they hired an actor who was either not a good fit or just not yet experienced enough to perform the role reliably.
I have questions. Are Rick &Audrey siblings? What happens when Audrey tries to kill Solo and Solo locks himself back into the vault alone (I doubt he told anyone the combo, he just let them in). Or maybe (more interestingly) he takes the baby and locks them both in the vault, making the baby his “shadow “. IMHO Audrey is a menace and if I was Solo , I would do the latter because everything is going to go to hell when Julia leaves (because of Audrey). As far as silo 18, I don’t care about any of them. None have made me care about them. The only characters who made me care are Solo , Lucas and Julia in that order
- No Rick & Audrey aren’t siblings, Rick’s mum & Audrey’s dad got together after the rebellion - I don’t think Audrey would risk doing that as food is more important than revenge on a scared kid & Solo wouldn’t do that as he realised his job wasn’t to protect the vault
This was definitely the best episode of the season. Partly because it was great. Partly because something actually happened. Partly because the rest of the season has been boring af.
Maaan i really hope that in next episode Lucas will be explained what happened to the world etc, also I wonder what is with the server room with key that has 18 on it. I think it's an AI that has everything in its hands, it knows when to "call" Bernard and tells him what to do.
I think the safeguard is away to destroy or kill those in a specific silo. The voice sounded more AI than from a person. I think the AI is programmed to destroy any one silo that is about to contact another, but I think Silo 18 is the last silo I think all the others have failed so if the safeguard is activated it will kill the only Silo left.
It was well setup for this episode but I still feel they could have made this reveal at least 2 episodes earlier. If they had paced the show a little faster. The show overall is too slow, imo. It's still not bad but a faster pace would improve the show greatly going from good to great. Also Solo being a kid mentally didn't feel like a reveal for the viewers. Like I think it was somewhat obvious he was a kid when he started protecting the vault. And I mean I am not a strong theorist but even I could realize this based of the clues given in the show.
It was obvious for us but not juliete. Its her first time dealing and seeing someone who acts ,,weird‘‘ like Solo. She never studied Psychology and so dis no one in her vault really. The only thing she knew was that Solo was a weird acrting guy but she and the others in the silo never could have guessed that he was trapped their his whole life since he was a kid
This was the one of the worst episodes for me. First off the kids surviving in the silo all alone for so many years is illogical. When Juliette shows up and is then running around all over the Silo to make a bridge and all the attempts at getting to the only light on in "IT", to add to this only about 23 or so levels are above water. She would have seen signs that others were living in the silo from their lights to a myriad of things. The idea that they were hiding and worried about the killer would have faded as Solo didn't even come out very far, if ever for years. I hated that subplot and only see it as a roadblock tool by the writer to delay Juliette from getting back on her plan to go back to her Silo. I do very much enjoy the Silo series, so much that it inspired me to read Hugh Howey's Sand series, which I also love and can't wait for the next book. Once the Silo series is over I will go read the books and maybe that subplot will be more believable, I hope so anyway.
Im confused as to how any of the characters in silo 17 are even alive. The silo was compromised during the rebellion and practically everyone died from being exposed to whatever toxin is outside right? No one is running mechanical so ventilation subsquently wouldnt be functioning. How are they not affected in the same way that all people who went outside to clean were or all those that died in the rebellion. What am I missing?
The episode was good, not as dramatic as most penultimate episodes. The biggest moment was Lucas at the door at the end. Audrey was annoying. Made no sense to kill solo if she ever wanted to get into the vault.
Who or what is ever in general charge of all the silos is losing control. Things are breaking down. We even hear that the cameras can no longer be replaced because they have to be pulled from less critical areas. As the silos have more difficulty monitoring people, the more difficulty the "overlord" has with managing all 50 silos. In short at some point, the safeguard is going to be unleashed on each of the silos. And to be fair, it probably has been used on more than one.
Knox knows that Marta is the rat already. He also knows that Bernard is watching while he is talking to her and obviously trying to distract Bernard with a non existing Plan
Did anyone notice that the solar system model is different in each silo? The planets seem to be in the same locations, but the design is different. I dont know If that means anything.
AI is controling them?? I dont really understand, the outer surface of earth is poisionous so silo keeeps them safe and all the systems are designed so that no one goes out and humans survive, but why all the mystery, hopefully last episode reveals a lot more.
I love this show despite Rebecca Ferguson's annoying and one-dimensional acting. She is the same in every role I've ever seen her play. The overly dramatic victim. The whisper talk. Her physical reactions to anything painful or upsetting. I really wish it was someone else playing the main character. Having said that, the show itself is awesome!
This was definitely the best episode of the season. Solo's scenes had me feeling things I didn't think this show could make me feel. Let me know your thoughts on the episode in the comments!
I could feel the shock when the triggered was pulled.
So where is the explanation of safeguard ?!
@@mihaicostel5883 I believe the safeguard is a mechanism that Silo One can initiate to eliminate everyone in said Silo.
Yup it was
you were able to use the word "crescendo". Very satisfying.
I thought it had been kinda obvious that Solo was a child when things went down.. Steve Zahn is a good actor, and i could feel his kid-like mentality from the start.
Yeah it felt like he was a kid because of his idiolect and his behaviour. Steve Zahn smashed this role!
I knew who the actor was even though I never saw him before, I recognized his voice from the planet of the apes movie
@ check out his filmography, he can play a wide variety..
Kid like mentality but he can do complex calculus and advanced chamistry etc. Hes read every book in there many times probably
That Audrey lady is so annoying. I know it’s just acting but I can’t stand her.
Yeah she instantly became the most dislikeable character in the show!
Means her acting was so good, it made you hate her character haha
stupid character writing
She sure was attractive though, I’ll give her that much.
Silo is becoming the best sci fi show I’ve seen in many years - very well done!
After dark
I thought it was pretty obvious that Knox was talking to her in a way that he knew what she had done, and he was telling her that she wouldn’t be punished and he understood why she did it.
And most likely he knows that they are being watched. Whatever plans he says is fake. Also to see if he was right about Waler being the snitch. If she snitches about that he would know.
Incredibly obvious the way they zoomed in on his facial expressions and eyes. You're meant to know he knows the truth.
Bingo
Yes your instincts are right however bernard is not stupid. He'll plan for a fake it'll be a contingency.
yeah I got misty eyed when him and the kids made up and when he and Jules had their moment.
It was beautiful!
Yeah definitely moving scenes. Sahn is probably going to get nominated for best acting
I loved it so much I rewatched it the next day just to see that moment again…
@ I watched an interview with one of the creators at the start of the season and he mentioned how he teared up in on of the scenes with Solo and Jules. Never thought I'd ended up tearing up myself
Steve Zahn is killing it. I always thought he was just a comedic actor, but he’s proved me wrong.
I know right? What a great actor!
His character solo reminds me of his bad ape performance in war for the planet of the apes.
His comedic side is still shining through. Hes been funny the entire season. It works to give him that child like quality his character needs.
Solo had the loneliest existence, but also the most enlightening existence.
Did you read the books? Poor kid.
safeguard could be dosing all the water with the memory-erasing drug.
i was thinking, its something of a kill commad maybe
Or cutting power to the silo
Nah it's a gas that'll kill the whole silo
No thats the founders doing the memory wiping thing with the water. I think command center's Safeguard is literally killing everyone in silo with poison Gas because it doesn't want anything one left alive knowing the truth. The memory wiping chemical in the water didn't work for too long and some people are not being affected by it after a few generations of children being tolerant to this chemical in the water. Memory wiping chemical is not working any longer after 100+ years.
That isn't a threat so much as a reset. The threat is the loss of all life in the silo. And to be fair, there is probably more than one way to make this happen.
Finally a great episode. Took them 65 million years
And scenes were brightly lit all through!
Nah it’s been good all along.
@@ScooterDogenah, it’s been the same thing the last 4 episodes.
for real the last 3-4 episodes have been snoozers, almost gave up on the show
This show moves at a slow pace for sure, but that's part of its charm and why I enjoy it
In the same conversation where Knox is discussing the mole with Walker and listing his fake suspicion he also suggests he understands why Walker did it.
he knew she was being watched and spilled some disinfo. Probably to setup an ambush. Catch Amundsen and the raiders off-guard and maybe even have the deputies with him on his side.
yeah the wink made it pretty obvious
Exactly
Knox already knew it was the old lady as she was only other one who knew about what they did with that missile. Hes just trying to send coded messages to tell old lady he knows whats up but shes kinda slow to recognize it due to camera being on watching and hearing.
@@sparda9060 yes he knew thats why he said we are changing plans here what we will do, and when they will try to do thebombs and the catch them, then he will definitely know the old lady is the mole, remember he didn't mention that she has a COMPUTER
Yea this was for sure the best episode. Even tho the show was kinda slow but S2E10 is finna cook
Let's hope it does 🔥
I wasn't expecting Lucas to be contacted by a voice from above down in the tunnels! Even having read the books, the show has me intrigued through some of the changes they've made. You know they have to get to a certain milestone in the story but how they get there could be quite different. It's been a bit slow at times but hopefully this season ends on a high note!
THE BOOKS ARE SO GOOD! it’s so hard to keep stuff to myself watching with my husband who didnt read them
i was extremely surprised by a great loud voice welcoming Lukas. very crazy! cant wait to see the next episode
I don't think Knox is setting up the ruse to ensnare Walk, I think he's doing it to mislead Bernard and his goons and have them occupied with a false lead while they pull off the real plan.
That's interesting! So he's almost treating her like a victim of being manipulated and like he knows that she can't fight back
@@BrainPilot he did say that you can't blame the person he claimed was the rat cause he knows she is doing it to protect her wife
The Ant Farm analogy is by far the best summation I've heard so far.
Does it seem as though that the higher power (whatever it may be) no longer has any control over Silo 17. Could it turn into a sanctuary from the threat of The Safeguard.
I immediately saw the opening as an ant hill/ants underground metaphor
Solo kinda reminds me of Victor in the show “From”
Yeah very similar attitudes
@@BrainPilot yes ... victor also grew up alone for a loooong time - perfect analogy
No no and no
I am anxiously awaiting the new season of From. The voice from above and the phone. I can see the comparison, very interesting
@FPChris Explain your position on the matter.
The voice Lukas talked to at the end of episode 9 was credited as "the algorithm"
I think there's a good change a lot of his actions that make us perceive him as a bad guy are out of his control, they even hinted at it this episode when Rob mentions the light up 18 key, which we know flashes when the head of IT is being hailed by the AI, aka The Algorithm.
The Season 2 episode 6 at at 27 minutes
If our roles were switched, would you have done the same?
Sims and Camille are going after Lucas for information as they cut to him immediately after this exchange between them:
Camille: What's in the server room? Besides servers.
Sims: I don't know. The only person with access is the head of IT or whoever has the key.
Then they cut to Lukas Kyle.
I love it when they combine both the emotional drama and lore discovery in an episode.
A kid that all he's ever known is solitude and guilt at failing his father's final instructions to him.
On the opposite side, a group of survivors desperate to prevent their families from starving to death and a generational mission to get into the vault in the hopes of salvation from their awful existence.
Hoping finale gives more of this as a strong finish to the season.
The safe gaurd maybe the silo being flushed out with water. Which will eliminate everyone .
yup when the silo gate is closed my guess is their safeguard is flush it with water, but if the gate airlock is opened like silo17, the safeguard was another thing, gas clouds, something like that.
That would be absolutely brutal!
Solo mention "when gas came" in one of his Convo with Juliette
@@Commander-Mustang that is brilliant and most probably correct guess otherwise Solo wouldnt say then gas came again at first everything was ok bla bla he said
I would think it is related to the tunnel, and water flooding the lower levels forcing people out, like what may have happened in 17.
When Solo rested her hand on Juliet's shoulder...tears 😢😢
That was such an emotional moment!
It reminded me of videos online of when an abused animal adopted from a shelter learns to trust again 😢
Safeguard could be, not allowing the pumps to run and the eventual flooding of the Silo. A scare tactic for anyone who knows the truth.
This could've been done in 4, maybe 5 episodes..
They must be on some other planet and being kept in the silos in case Earth is finished 😅
sure it can be, not in the books

And there's a freaking BABY in the Silo, but no one heard the crying until now? Lol
Still i enjoyed the episode
This series deserved more episodes per season
10 is quite generous in today's world of TV series
I hated every week that there's barely any plot prpgression but its gonna be poetical having Julliete return at the end of episode 10
This week was a strong one and if she does return in episode 10 the reaction of all of the characters will be incredible to see
Barely any plot progression? Not sure what you mean. Every episode has been progressing the plot. This is following the books very closely with only a few concepts appearing in different ways.
At the end of episode 10 season 5 :)
I hated the kids but they e seemed to move forward ok now.
Finally a really good episode this season too bad its still SOOOO DARK i can barley see what's going on ..
Definitely the best episode of the season!
It’s soooo dark!
Really was the BEST episode of the season. They really built it up and delivered!
Nope
@ ???
Silo 17 is completely underwater, so that would be awfully difficult
@@courtneylenius5410 did you forget tho she turned on the pumps so it could get drained
@KLHull95 I had thought that only meant the water wouldn't rise any higher (but I could be wrong), not that it would totally drain. But even if it did drain, it would probably take a very long time to do so for that much water
Have to agree, it was one of the best episodes of the series so far. Captivating from start to finish.
Episode 10 was so good. Can't wait for your explanation on it
On it now!
Way too easy getting to the tunnel, like it wasn’t even a secret location to begin with 😂
Its more like a easter egg kind of spot.
Man watching Solo see his dad killed truly made me feel for him. Brutal
That was genuinely such a sad moment!
still don't get one thing : why that young annoying girl decided to kill juliette first without even talking to her ... her judgement is ridiculous - lucky the guy is waaay more rational than her
I'm still trying to figure out where they were getting food all those years.

Silo is something else man.
Edit: ITS SO GOOD!
10/10 episode
Best episode of the season!
That God like voice sounded exactly like the vaults AI. I think that AI controls all silos and monitors its inhabitants.
@@JamesLikesIcedCream It sure would be cool if the "wizard behind the curtain" is a huge sentient AI computer named "HAL."
I mean if juliete goes infront of the camera everyone in out vault would literally see juliete ? Bernard would have no choice but to let her in otherwise EVERYONE in the whole silo would go nuts
Awesome show. Loving it
Steve Zahn is just BRILLIANT!
Yeah he smashed his role!
Where was the super computer in this silo vault like the one in Bernard's
Solo had papers on it
He was never made shadow so "The Legacy" AI in 17 is inactive for him.
Great great episode 🔥
Best of the season!
Some thoughts:
- The tunnel has to be how water is transported in, so maybe Safeguard quite literally safeguards the silo from any escape below
I just want to know why the film is SO dark, you can hardly see it!!!
Compared to S1 this series was a lot darker, I don't know why. I hope they opt for more of a S1 approach with season 3
I think we might get a glimpse in the silo 1
I really hope so!
This episdoe was epic. I love that the story is still so good even tho it is nothing like the books.
Beta episode of the show so far!
You have to turn off all the lights watch show otherwise And even with that you can’t see what the hell is going on half the time
I went in thinking this was the season finale. Great episode and cliffhanger.
Great explained video
Frank Heffley did a great job as Solo
I wish some of the earlier episodes had been better edited/directed so solos age at the rebellion was a surprise. We knew from the first episode that the rebellion happened a long time ago because of the way everyone looked and was dressed so solos age reveal was a duh. In fact I wondered every episode if it would finally be revealed. This season was frustrating because of little things like this .
Agreed, loved it. I'm glad the books aren't being followed too closely.
The pacing this season has been slow and clunky, but episode 9 made it worthwhile. Ferguson and Zahn deserve accolades for their performances.
That makes it three possibilities:
1. Knox actually believes it's Teddy's Mom.
2. Knox knows that it's Walker and she's being forced to play to the camera
3. Knox strongly suspects it's Walker and is feeding her false info to be sure. The camera (and, really, the microphone) doesn't play into it at all. (Your theory)
Number 1 is a sucker bet.
- No Rick & Audrey aren’t siblings, Rick’s mum & Audrey’s dad got together after the rebellion
- I don’t think Audrey would risk doing that as food is more important than revenge on a scared kid & Solo wouldn’t do that as he realised his job wasn’t to protect the vault
The second suit won’t fit the kid. Remember they have to measure you before they make a custom suit.
Still could fit tho if juliete works on it a little bit i guess
Silo 1 enters the chat
‘Alison Becker’, ‘Paddy (Kenny) Kennedy’. Are those names in the books because if not there is deffo a secret football fan amongst the writers 🤣👍
Maybe the mechanical people can move to silo 17 as well since the pumps are working.
There was a line that there is 51 silos, not 50. Maybe the safeguard is a control silo?
It could be! Or something that only that Silo is in control of
It seems that Audrey and Rick have the same parents. But they also have children together? Am I missing something?
Juliette saved Solos life when the teenagers took him while she was diving.
We are now invested in Luke, so no killing him at the hands of Bernard please.
Finally Episode 9 was interesting.. we almost fell asleep in Season 2
Yeah this was a great episode!
Great episode
Maybe even more than distract - lure him into some sort of a trap
with the water being pumped out, we may soon find out that the overseer silo dwellers pay Solo a visit
Did anyone notice that the solar system model is different in each silo? The planets seem to be in the same locations, but the design is different. I dont know If that means anything.
Zhan (solo) out here making us emotional. I see a performance nomination coming
This episode definitely cemented him as one of my favourite characters in the show!
Are the 50 silos meant to be one for each of the former US states with the 51st being some kind of control silo? Why only 51?
This was without a doubt the best episode
