I've been having fun with it in a joust since it just closes a gap so darn fast and the proxy fuse will still kill people attempting to jink it. I would have made the IRIAF 12.7 just for having R27Rs at first since no ones dodging those in the ideal firing range compared to the 7F/M
I've been playing the persian cat at 12.7-13.0 most of the time. That br brings enough challenges to an old airframe to justify its missiles and gives a lot of fun
I'm still going to have to fight it in the MiG-29A so makes no difference to me. Although I guess I could go back to the 23ML to finish the 29SMT since I won't have to face 8 of these F-14 every match. Still have to face the U.S version though so in the end, really no difference.

The F-14A Early did not receive the AIM-9L to my knowledge until they started to get retrofitted and upgraded to the next standard being the regular F-14A and F-14A+ and so on.

they need to decompress top tier, make it so sarh and ir carriers don't have to face arh carriers as much (F14, 15, 16, Gripen A, su27, mig 29... ect). I hope they listen to the community more in the future but I doubt it.
@@thatguy7612 Notching is difficult for unmanuverable planes because the Fakour has IOG and does not "go dumb" like the Aim-7F. Also F-14 has good flight performance so they will always be above you, and because of this the notching is vastly less effective because the missile is coming from a curved angle instead of perfect 90 degree. The only reliable way is to go cold.
@@ivan5595 I always just fly to the side at 3000- 4000 meters and am able to notch them in my f4 then you can send a aim7 f and loft it up to try hit them
F4's rwr gives you an exact direction towards something that locks you. If there's no aircraft over there, it's the fakour, plain and simple. And if you haven't overloaded your phantom with bombs you can hit a notch in a few seconds. And at low altitudes fakour can be notched away even without any chaff. Those missiles are really strong for their brs, but not anywhere near to what people think of them
Gaijin knew it should have been moved up the day they but it at that lower BR they didn't finally catch on this is what they do to tanks, planes and ships that are event or even premium vehicles. They put it at a lower BR than it should be and get as many as possible to flock to the vehicle and purchase it at a decently higher price than it should be and after a certain amount of time after people complain about it. Gaijin then pulls something out their rear end to make it look like the vehicle is being moved up with a bunch of other vehicles(their way of slipping it in without people really paying attention) then then it gets to where it should really be at AFTER they buff things on it. Then make it seem like its a normal everyday thing... for example just like the Pt76-57 remember that one but that wasn't an event vehicle, well it kind of is but it was a BP vehicle. Maybe, I should say anything that can be sold on the market where Gaijin can make as much of a profit without seeming WAY to greedy and looking like they are a cash grab.
The fun thing is that for how damn strong this plane is, the stock grind is horrific since you're stuck with only two Phoenixes and 9Ps. So you dont have the biggest thing that the event F-14 has to offer, and frankly the two Phoenixes are near useless for stock grinding with the number of Fakour 90s everywhere + how useless it is as a dogfight missile. Once you get the Sedjeel or Fakour 90 it just becomes so strong though lol

It just bugs me, that with the Kfir I have to fight F14-s. They launch radar missiles from 30 km-s, and I don't have a radar, nor radar missiles, nor many countermeasures. Also, with the F16 Netz, I still have trouble against radar missiles, They should limit missile range to under 10 KM-s but they'd never do that.
Sedjeel is certainly a fun missile to long range people with. I've had an instance where the radar didn't give up even though the guy had gone cold in a relative notch with a 23 km shot lol. And look... regarding multipathing this missile... I still ate shit from an AMRAAM when I was 48m off the ground... you have to be scraping the fuselage across the ground just for guaranteed safety now. That is still ignoring the explosive mass of the Fakour which is also likely coming down on top of you which just makes multipathing even more difficult.
I think it’s fine at its current BR. The missiles are good but not god tier. And the F-14B at 13.0 seems fairly asinine. Unless it’s getting the 120s it tested and 9Ms, it doesn’t need to see constant far more advanced Fox 3 throwers.
There was no excuse not to buff the F-14s this patch. They're not facing bad vehicles anymore. It's time to remove the F-14's nerfs it's had since it was launched.
I don't think they NEED buffs rn, but at their new BRs I would probably be fine with the F-14A getting 9Ls and the B getting 9Ms, assuming their performance starts to drop
Fakours have been terrible recently , lock is patchy and will pretty much only lock onto bot aircraft even if theyre massivly further away than player vehicles... other missiles are rubbish!
The F-14B is now blatantly overtierd, only having aim 9 ls with no irccm and a worse airframe than any 13.0 counterpart. Phoenixes do not make up for it.
I can’t see why this and the F-14B are going to the same BR, the fakour 90 can compete at 13.7 easily imo, I’ve done it plenty of times with my friends
Well time for the F14Bs time to be s**t. The Phoenix will not be competitive at 13.0, and the more modern ARMs are going to be spammed at you so you are going to just beyon the defensive 90% of the time. Also 9Ls suck were it is now, at 13.0 you need IRCCM.

Honestly I don't understand why people struggle so much with older rwrs. Simple logic compared with their lock warning is enough to keep them safe from all long range launches. SPO10 struggles with an accurate notch and no range estimation, but anything better is OK 95% of the time

Yeah the F-15A at 13.0 almost always gets uptiers so you're facing AIM9M and AIM120A
