Watching this again. This, the spotify, steamed hams, drawing, movies, and mickey mouse raps are so fucking creative man. It's like your own wee genre. Criminally underviewed
outrageously good as always. Cuphead is one of the dopest most satisfying games to watch ever. damn! Thanks for the incredible imagination, rapping and visual editing as usual Cruger.
Hey Cruger. I'm a long time big fan, but for some reason I took a long time to get around to listening to this. I hope it's okay if I leave some feedback. Mechanically I can't give any real critique, your use of words and mastery of flow is really top notch and this is super enjoyable to listen to. The inclusion of sound effects and video editing are also great. My thoughts are mainly about why this may not have taken off despite its obvious quality. My two speculations are either that the concept the title indicates is a lot broader than what's in the video (it seems to say the song is going to be about ALL of Cuphead, when really it's just about this one battle), and also that the fight in question appears to be from the DLC, and so many fans who haven't played that DLC (myself included) might not find it as resonant as a boss they recognize. If you're going to do another attempt at a similar style of video/song with another IP, you might get more attention if you make the lyrics more generally about the franchise than focused on the specifics of a micro-action moment. I think what you're doing is arguably more difficult and more technically impressive, but it's also not as easily digestible--you have to watch along w/ the video to get the cues, for example. I don't know if I'm totally off base with this thought, but I hope it's something useful to consider in the future. Best of luck with all your projects.
Croooogah!! I love your videos but you’re formatting some of these all wrong. The spacing on this is tough. Our eyes naturally gravitate to the subtitles which then take away the purpose of the lyrics matching what’s happening in the gameplay. Your mantis vs spider video was much better in the tiktok format (vs RUclips )for the same reason. Embed the subtitles in the screen with the action and these videos would hit harder!! Much respect brother I’ve been a fan since Vendetta!!
