Day One of asking PokeRev to learn how to play the TCG and make a video for it. Some tips:
1: Defenitally get a product with a pre built deck, or get somebody else to lend you their deck, and THEN make your own after trying out Diffrent play styles.
2: Dragonsheild sleeves are really good, as it protects the cards and has a nice shuffle feel.
3: Search through pack trash when building your deck. There are some common cards that can be really good, mostly stuff like nest balls and other trainer cards.
4: I would recommend ETBs for stuff to use for the card game. Great storage, comes with everything you need except a deck, obviously and doesn’t take up to much space
5: Go to tournaments! You can see them near you. You can win prizes, get better skills, and there are a tonne of vendors. Go with at least one other person though, even if that’s just a camera man.
Great idea! You can also win Play! Pokémon packs at your lgs. Some very playable and valuable bulk cards include: Earthen vessels, Ionos, counter catchers, boss's order's, and super rods.
I doubt he has time to compete with his family and his business tbh.

The introduction of alt art is really great desicion for adding more characters to the cards
I started with 151... but sword and shield has really took my interest alot more than scarlet and violet.

I remember the first sword and shield sets were terrible and then we were saved by darkness ablaze and it became one of my favourite eras of Pokémon, I played the games on the switch and it was just the ultimate point of my Pokémon experience ❤

I think that Build and Battle boxes are underappreciated. You can find great deals on them- even with prerelease timeframes!

The build and battle format that my local card shop done was really fun to play, I actually one time became almost undefeatable in one set, which has been a long time.

Fav Sw&Sh is definitely Crown Zenith, because it has the best pullrates and is fun to open

Battle Styles has decent cards in it. I pulled the alt art Empoleon and it's great artwork. I loved opening Vivid Voltage.

Are the decks from the build and battle boxes worth it?
Value wise no. If you want to build a deck for tcg strictly from pulling cards maybe. You can always buy decks that are ready to go which is your best bet.
These were always fun to open
Interesting to remember that not every set came out with a build and battle. 151 was a good example that I think they should have capitalized on since early booster boxes were hard to get
It’s crazy to think about the day before this video was made I bought one evolving skies pack and opened the Leafeon VMAX alt art

I’ve been opening a decent amount of these build & battle boxes, mainly to get the promos. Pull rates have been decent, but nothing crazy expensive.

I found some crown zenith tins in the wild last week and pulled the mewtwo alt work! Probably my favorite sword and shield set
The design changed when they went from prerelease kits to build and battle and thats when the prereleasde value's fell.
Because it wasn't special anymore

Not sure if it’s true, I haven’t opened a ton of B&B boxes, but I was told that the decks inside on rare occasion have a big hit in them. Like they sneak a banger in here and there. Like I said not sure if it’s true but it would be cool if it was. My local shop has a lot of B&B’s marked down to like $15.99. I should just buy a bunch and test the theory 🤔
