Hello!! I’m trying to download the theme elementor for Wordpress and there in no zip within the zip and I’m sure this theme is for Wordpress . Any advice ?? Thanks !☺️
Hey Elizabeth, thanks for commenting! Interesting you mention Elementor... I have worked with Elementor the past five website builds we've done and I have a ton of experience with it - great choice! Keep in mind, Elementor is the page builder - not the theme. So when you download Elementor (that zip file you're talking about) is uploaded in the Plugin section instead of theme. You'll need to install a basic theme and then install the Elementor plugin to begin working with it. My recommendation for a free theme is Astra, which you can find here. Just click "Free" and then press "No thanks, I just want to download Astra" and your zip file will download: wpastra.com/pricing/ If you have ANY questions on the process or with Elementor, please shoot me an email for a faster response. I love helping people in my free time! tyler@thedentaloutlet.com
Hey Elizabeth! Were you able to get this setup properly? Just wanted to see if you had since we work with Elementor a TON and I could assist if you couldn't figure it out. Love that plugin!
Hello Tylor , I got the same problem with a theme I bought yesterday on themeforest, The Kafe Theme, but I could not fix it, I did all what you say but in case there is no another zip file inside. I have even compressed the file witch have the name of the theme, but nothing. Can you help please Thank you
Hey Bah! This is not a WordPress ready theme. You can see on themeforest, that the theme is classified as built on a "Bootstrap Framework." They also have a PHP version too, which can work with WordPress but in that instance you'd be manually uploading the files via your cPanel. My suggestion would be to get a refund through Themeforest, and use the credits you get back to buy a WordPress ready theme. Just make sure it's under the WordPress category! You can find all of their WordPress themes here: themeforest.net/category/wordpress
I use Wordpress.org. I downloaded the codecanyon-2751380-slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin.zip and unzipped it. Then I tried to install the revslider.zip, which came out of the first zip-file, but I still get the error message about missing style.css sheet.
Hey Petri! Hope you are doing well today and your week is starting off well! Revolution Slider is a plugin, not a theme. Make sure you're uploading that zip file to the right place. When you login to your dashboard, on the left, go to Plugins and upload that zip file there. Don't upload it where themes are uploaded as you will always get that error. Give that a try and let me know if it worked.
@@thedentaloutlet My humble thanks, Tyler. I feel embarrassed. This is a good example of the difference between a professional and an amateur. It uploaded fine with you clear instructions!
@@petri.ruotsalainen No need for embarrassed feelings here! I'm glad you got it uploaded, Slider Revolution can be tricky at times but it's a great plugin and has tons of support forums if you encounter problems in the future. Have a great week!
hello thank you for the video but i can not find this second zip file in the package i purchased i really hope you have a solution for my situation thanks in advanced
Sure thing, you actually linked me to the incorrect thing. Can you tell me the name of the theme? The URL you sent me takes me to the downloads page but I cant see your downloads unless im logged in haha
I just ran across this video and I'm having a similar problem. However, I didn't purchase my website; it was a free templet and when I downloaded the file it was already unzipped. However, when I put all of the files in a zip file and try to upload it, I get the same message, "style.css is missing."
Hey Kavonne! What’s the name of the free theme you downloaded, and where did you download it from? I have some free time today and can see if I can’t help you out
Ah, excellent! So that actually is not a WordPress theme. When I unzipped the download, you can see in the "css" folder, there is no 'style.css' file. That file is instead named 'main.less' which is oftentimes used on other development sites such as Weebly. There are ways to bridge this gap and utilize a LESS file on WordPress, but for your sake, as long as you're not 100,000% in love with this theme, I'd suggest looking for another theme to use. There are many one-page themes (for free) on the internet, just make sure they're WordPress compatible. If you're absolutely dead-set on using this theme, I can send you some links as to how to bridge a LESS file to WordPress. Here is the site I download all of my WordPress themes from, as it comes with support and most are constantly updated. Although there aren't many for free here, spending a mere $9-20 on a theme that is rock-solid might be worth it :-) themeforest.net/free/wordpress-themes Tyler
please can you tell me what all thing involve in the zip file that you have uploaded? Because my downloaded file do not contain any other zip inside it. Please help as soon as possible
Hey Shekhar, I'm looking at the theme here... Is this the one? - themeforest.net/item/flipmart-responsive-ecommerce-template/17037116 If that is the theme, it is not a Wordpress ready theme, it is an HTML theme. Although you can use HTML themes on Wordpress, it requires a number of additional steps and if you are buying a pre-made theme, I think the whole point is simplicity in the first place! I'd recommend getting a return and making sure your next theme clearly states it is a WORDPRESS theme and compatible! :)
Afternoon mate! What theme did you download, can you send me a link to it? Happy to take a look for ya. If it's a wordpress theme it should be in there somewhere but I can check! Cheers T
themeforest.net/item/easy-living-real-estate-html-template-/7368655 Is this the theme in reference? I can't gain access to the folders without purchasing it if so, but this theme linked is an HTML template, not a WordPress template. thanks for the quick response! I save one of the files to a zip and uploaded that. It kinda seemed to work, but the theme is patchy, so I'm thinking it probably didn't upload all it should have. How can I send you the files to look at?
@@thabz-tshidumojnr8614 That is an HTML template - not a complete WordPress theme. You can go through a number of steps to make that theme wordpress ready but it's quite a few steps not ideal for anyone but developers. Id recommend getting credited back for that theme and purchasing a Wordpress theme, they have filters on Themeforest for that. Just go to the Web Themes & Templates tab and make sure to click Wordpress as the drop down option so all of those are guaranteed WordPress themes. This help?
