Barbie the Movie brings lots of happy and nostalgic feelings. I went to see the movie. (I am almost 70 years.) I enjoyed the movie. It was an 8 out of 10 for me. It made you think about a lot of things....I grew up in the generation with the stereotypes (or bimbocore) that Barbie the Movie targets. It lets us women know- We are More. I enjoyed your video.
It was such an amazing movie to watch! literally watched on opening day! definitely a great message to break stenotypes for sure but also in a really funny and entertaining way! :D
Thank you, RUclips algorithm! I got to see this earlier this week as it was released in Europe a couple of days early, and I LOVED the film!! I even had the tissues out! Laughed, cried, watched with amusement as the people French-speakers in the audience didn't get the double-entendre jokes-- I was the only person in the ENTIRE THEATRE who was howling with laughter from the "Beach off" scene😂I loved the inclusivity-- trans Barbie, differently-abled Barbie dancing in her wheelchair, black Barbie PRESIDENT??! (God-- the world would be a better place!)
@@HauChic absolutely!! it was amazing, especially as a collector, all the references made me so happy to see, they respected the history and material so much and the story was so much fun
My favourite thing about barbie is that barbie has always had a feminist message for young girls. As the first barbie doll was invented in 1959, where woman didn’t even have bank accounts and were expected to become just mothers/wife and nothing more. Whereas barbie showed young girls that they can have dreams and aspirations about becoming a doctor, lawyers, astronauts etc. barbie showed young girls that their identity didn’t just have to revolve around being a mother/wife that it could be so much more.
very true! it really was the message of the first waves of feminism and i think the movie did the perfect job that neither women in total extreme power or men in total extreme power is a good thing and i loved how it really emphasises that just balance is key and it shouldnt have to be either or :) both men and women or in this case, barbie and ken can be anything, and its all to their own adventure to go on ^^ x
This is what always bugged me about Barbie haters. She works every job on the planet and comes home to a hot trophy husband, and we’re supposed to wish we were made of plastic?
thank you so much! glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to the channel :D yes!! i also watched the barbie movie on opening day and it was so much fun to watch!!
My mom’s attitudes when I was growing up perfectly sum up my feelings towards Barbie haters. She had those stupid ideas that little girls would want to have no genitals or internal organs, but sports a naturally slender body shape even after four kids and turning 50 soon this year (and I’m built just like her so I thought I was doing something wrong in my teens). All this coinciding with her using her gender to get away with appalling behavior, and yet I don’t think even she ever said anything against my sisters and I liking pink or dolls! That should be of great concern to everyone.
Went yesterday with my husband. It’s been YEARS since I laughed that hard in a movie theater! Hubby really enjoyed it too.
oh my goodness!! YASSS!! was laughing so hard throughout!! was such a feel good movie along with a great message! x
