Good instructional video. Ive seen people do this the wrong way every time. The last thing you want is your reefer falling off the dolly because you didn't strap it right. . Always use two people for this. Attempting this by yourself is asking for trouble.
So sad no one left a comment! Thank you for teaching us how to move appliances the right way! I was thinking I would need this dolly but I actually need the other since I'm just moving furniture and boxes. :)
U- haul you are really the best.👍🏼 We just moved and we were so worried how we will move and how we can manage but you guys have everything that makes it so easy. All the tools you have is soooooo helpful 😍👍🏼 it made moving so easy and simple. God Bless you 🙏💕
There's another vid that shows how fridges aren't always centered with their weight---some being heavier in the front. In which case, you have to adjust the hand truck/dolly accordingly, after you've got it placed under the fridge, by moving the hand truck toward the front of the fridge just a bit. Thus you ensure the fridge weight is centered on the hand truck. I think shoulder straps and not a hand truck are the way to go if stairs are involved. Apparently the straps are only $40 at Home Depot.
This is really helpful coz I was wondering how it doesn’t fall off the dolly, thinking of doing up and selling furniture after buying off eBay and I’ve got to get them up down my flat!
Yes, they should have shown how to move that reefer up a flight of stairs using a double-axle appliance dolly. Moving the appliance on or off the truck is the EASY part!!
dolly upstairs or downstairs in general, the load faces downstairs from you. going up, pull it up one step at a time. going down, push it down one step at a time, but as it goes off the edge of the step, pull back some so it goes down more slowly and controlled. if you need to pause in either direction, just be completely on a step and don't let go too much.
Not in Uhaul terminology. They are a Utility or an Appliance Dolly. What you are thinking of as a dolly is what Uhaul refers to as their Furniture Dolly. It is what it is. It's both.
@@trevor5290 Id rather use two boards... lol... Im not paying for a 15 foot truck that I dont need, just to have a ramp to load one or two appliances.... their regular trucks below 15 foot should also be supplied with ramps for loading... even their 10 foot trucks arent equipped with a ramp....
You mean if you rented the wrong truck? Yeah, don't do that. They're pretty clear which rentals come with a ramp or don't. 15' and up have a ramp. But if you want to be a cheapskate over the $10 price difference between the 10 footer and the 15 footer well you do you and be cheap like that. Whatever, have fun with that frugal nonsense. lol, 10 bucks difference is nothing today! It's 19.95 vs 29.95. oh the horror, the horror! That's too expensive for you! Hope you already had the boards because they'll cost you more than $10 at home depot, lowes, etc.🤣
@@ButterfatFarms whatever butter fat.... WHY would I get a truck size(15ft) that I dont need, just to get a ramp.... ? I dont care if they rent them for 5 cents - 6 cents each... Wear & tear, replacing the belt when they wear out. I used to have a carpet shampooer that everyone knew about and everyone wanted to borrow. One day it didn't work when I needed it. Called the person who'd last used it "ooh, it worked fine the whole time I was using it!" Uh huh, sure. That's why they charge you, nobody wants to pay if it breaks. I never lend my new carpet shampooer to anyone.
The same reason you have to pay to rent the truck. They aren't running a charity. They're running a rental business. It ain't just trucks. It's everything else you'll need to move too as well as storage units. You pay for what you need. Why should the rest of us have to pay even more because every truck comes with a complimentary hand truck and a dolly to suit you? You think the rental price of the truck would remain the same if they did that? NO. If i don't need a dolly why should i be paying inflated truck prices to provide for someone like you who does? lol, No thanks! You pay for it, you need it.
11 year old video and it helped me move my appliances in 2022!!!!! Miss seeing this type of quality video, the good ol days

I actually have to move a similar fridge this weekend and I’ve been dreading it since it looked difficult. This video helped a TON! Thank you
Excellent, simple and clear easy to fallow instructions thank you for showing how to do this. Now I know
This video should be labled "Moving a fridge under all of the perfect circumstances".
hope this works to move a couch and heavy sofa chair, solo
This helped me move a 400lb gun safe. Wasn’t easy moving that heavy bitch but this helped a lot.
This is really helpful coz I was wondering how it doesn’t fall off the dolly, thinking of doing up and selling furniture after buying off eBay and I’ve got to get them up down my flat!
How do you secure it inside so it doesn’t fall all over the place
Perfect timing for me! Thank You!
What about stairs?
yah thats kind of the whole point here

@@TheOzthewiz I just bear hug it and lift it up one stair at a time. Make sure to keep your back straight and have your knees/thighs do all the work.
Pay some street guys... problem solved.
How do you go out over steps and out of house with a step at exit/door?
What size is that truck? Or rather what is the right size?
Who here in 2024😎
Here here 😂
Thanks guys very helpful video
How do you keep the refrigerator from moving or falling over in the truck? Can a refrigerator be placed on its back for moving?
You tie it to the wall, that's what the wooden slats are for in the truck, use heavy nylon rope to tie it so it doesn't fall over.
Wonder if he still works there nearly 14 years later
Why do you want to know? You have eyes for U haul guys, Princess??
How do you use it to go up stairs to 2nd or 3rd floor of apartment?

Very useful

Use those several times a year.

How do I get one of these up to my attic?
Filling the fridge with Helium balloons helps a lot.
They're called movers. Hire a few guys. Make the hard part earning the $$$ to pay them, not doing the grunt work yourself.
HELPFUL
BTW, turning to the right IS NOT counter clockwise!!!
In this case right is counter clockwise. It is positioned horizontally, not vertically.
I'll leave a comment good job guys 😃
How about a real flatbed truck with no ramp?
Uhaul is not for you.
Twice, RC Willeys delivered my fridge and used hand truck on side with waterline and twice broke the water I let and tubing!
You pay enough to rent a u-Haul why do we have to pay for renting There dollies?
Because its money. Some of the best investments in life is a dolly and ladder lmao
By your logic, if I wanted to only rent a single dolly, then it should be free?
Sorry Linda we don’t speak broke bitch here at U-Haul

For moving a washer and dryer and a lot of boxes would a utility dolly be better than an appliance dolly?
